I'm sorry, that is NOT funny and I DO NOT support you!

This is a photo from a facebook page "U.S. Infantry":

I'm not sure if it's authentic but if it is.... I don't know about you but if you think this is funny or something to be proud of - you've got some serious issues. Some really fucked up ones.

Thank you for listening.

Dick Cheney and others that think like him are sick fucks

I hope putting it like that doesn't come across as sexist, racist, etc.

Dick Cheney is a Sick Fuck - the world could use less people like him. What he did in our name was unacceptable and totally unnecessary. It's about time that his kind of thinking is labeled as such. Sick.

Thank you for listening.

Is the Top 1% making a concerted effort to thwart upward mobility?

Hello DUers, I thought I'd ask this because it certainly seems so.

Am I out of line for thinking this?

You tell me.

Thank you.

Study: Minimum Wage Workers Ripped Off Even More Than We Thought

I can barely wait to here from DU's resident Libertarian DOUCHEBAGS about this... about making lemonade when served lemons, about choices, bootstraps etc...

Wage theft — employers taking money out of their workers’ pockets — has been estimated to cost society three times as much as all robberies, burglaries, larcenies and motor vehicle thefts combined, according to the Economic Policy Institute (EPI). A 2009 study cited by EPI estimated that in Chicago, Los Angeles and New York City, two-thirds of all wage and salary workers experienced some form of wage theft, and that on average it cost them $2,634 per year out of an annual income of just $17,616.

But according to new data from the Department of Labor, one kind of wage theft — minimum wage violations — may be even more prevalent than previous estimates suggested.

Idiot buys gun for protection from unrest in Ferguson - shoots themself dead goofing with gun...

The shooting occurred Friday night in downtown St. Louis, the city's Metropolitan Police Department said, in an area dominated by vacant lots beside a football stadium.

The female victim, identified in a police report as Becca Campbell, 26, was a passenger in a car involved in an auto accident. Her 33-year-old boyfriend was driving, the sources told CNN.

The boyfriend, who wasn't identified, told police that the couple had bought a gun because of fears of unrest related to the pending grand jury decision on the shooting of Michael Brown, the sources said.

He told investigators that as they drove late Friday night, the victim waved a gun, jokingly saying the couple were ready for Ferguson, the sources said.

Fact checking needed: According to this guy - Obama is panicking....

Things considered while wondering why DEMOCRATS ever voted for this guy......
As you are aware, I AM REPUBLICAN! I am a US History buff, have a degree in Social Studies education and my concentration of history is United States, European, and China. I can not believe this president is bypassing Congress to formulate his legacy. Here is what his legacy is going to be......

Barrack Obama - First African American President, who usurped his political power to throw every good American under the bus with his executive order policies and his failed health care initiative. He made promises he never kept and has the lowest performance rating in the history of the Presidency.

His legacy? Ha! The only reason he was elected and re-elected is because he held the urban areas of America. IF the election was based on area, instead of people, He would have been crushed. Unfortunately, he held the largest city in the United States, which basically won him NYS, Miami, Los Angeles (because we all know he is "Hollybama&quot , and so on. He knows he is a "lame duck," with the election in 2014. He had a hard enough time the previous 4 years with getting any policies through and now with a Republican controlled congress, his ideas and legacy will no longer be bipartisan, they will be "Emperoric" (Yes, I created a new word), which means being like an emperor. He is a Constitutional lawyer, which means he knows and understands Constitutional law. He has blatantly broke the Constitution with every turn he has made. Time to get off the soapbox....<thud>

No matter.....it is what it is. Obama is panicking, and I truly hope Congress makes his last 2 years as rough as possible. He has made his bed....now he can sleep in it. It is no wonder the Secret Service is having so much trouble....even they don't want to protect him anymore.

And I am sorry to those, who think I am being mean about this guy. I am not. Its my opinion and I believe THIS GUY has ruined our credibility, in the world, ruined any chance of our children getting jobs (with at least 5M illegal immigrants allowed to stay), and believing that he has a legacy as being a great President.
Legacy? HA!

Los Angeles considered proposing a ban feeding homeless people in public

This story is out of date and was posted by MSNBC about a year ago... the idea is still infuriating.

That'll put a dent in homelessness!

As the number of homeless people in Los Angeles County continues to rise, the City Council is weighing a ban on feeding homeless people in public areas.

City Council members Tom LaBonge and Mitch O’Farrell, both Democrats, introduced the resolution after complaints from Los Angeles residents. Arguing that meal lines should be moved indoors, the legislators said the proposal would benefit both the homeless and residential neighborhoods.

Actor Alexander Polinsky is one Los Angeles resident who complained about the number of homeless people crowding his neighborhood.

“If you give out free food on the street with no other services to deal with the collateral damage, you get hundreds of people beginning to squat,” Polinsky toldThe New York Times. “They are living in my bushes and they are living in my next door neighbor’s crawl spaces. We have a neighborhood which now seems like a mental ward.”

“This has overwhelmed what is a residential neighborhood,” Council member LaBonge said. ”When dinner is served, everybody comes and it’s kind of a free-for-all.”

But advocates for the homeless say public officials are attempting to legislate the poor into invisibility instead of helping those in need.

“It’s a common but misguided tactic to drive homeless people out of downtown areas,” Jerry Jones, the executive director of the National Coalition of the Homeless, said toThe New York Times.

"They can't unrape you." Austin Cops joke - caught on tape

It astounds me that so many assholes are hired as cops.....

Austin Police Confirm These Are Cops Making Rape Jokes on Video

The Austin, Tex. Police Department is investigating two officers for joking about rape in a dashcam video posted to YouTube earlier this week. After the video made the local news, APD confirmed the recording is authentic and that the men you hear in it are actually cops.

The relevant section opens with the two officers joking that if they were allowed to "ride out" for a week, "shit would get real for the bad guys" and world peace would be established. Or it would just seem that way, because they'd ignore every crime report:

Officer 1: Either that, or, you'd think that because we'd turn a blind eye towards everything.

Officer 2: Or that.

Officer 1: Fuck it, who cares.

Officer 2: Or that. It could be that.

Officer 1: I want to report a robbery! You probably deserved it.

Nice guys. At this point, according to the YouTube uploader, "an attractive female" passes by their car. You can hear one of the cops say something about a rape whistle. Then this:
