Ebola in New York? Doctor reportedly rushed to NYC hospital with 103-degree fever

Dr. Craig Spencer returned to NYC from Africa 10 days ago, according to the Post. On Thursday he was rushed to Bellevue Hospital from his Harlem home after exhibiting Ebola-like symptoms: a 103-degree fever and nausea.

Spencer, 33, a Doctors Without Borders physician from Columbia University Medical Center, had treated Ebola patients while he was in Guinea, PIX 11 reported. He made a stopover in Brussels October 16 before returning to New York.

He is currently being tested for the disease, sources told the Post.

Palestinian Kills Baby at Jerusalem Station

A Palestinian motorist with a history of anti-Israel violence slammed his car into a crowded train station in Jerusalem on Wednesday, killing a three-month-old baby girl and wounding eight people in what police called a terror attack.

The car struck the train station near the national headquarters of Israel's police force. Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said the driver got out of the car and tried to flee before he was shot by a police officer.

He said footage captured by security cameras indicated the driver deliberately struck people waiting at the stop. "We look at this incident as a terrorist attack," he said. He said the area was cordoned off and forensic and bomb disposal experts were on the scene examining the car.

FRANKFURT - Armed guards have been posted at synagogues throughout Germany for the start of Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. Anti-Semitism is once again on the rise in Europe, especially in Germany.

The tensions have been building in Germany since demonstrations against last summer's Gaza war exposed a clear anti-Jewish sentiment. Chants were heard that echoed from Germany's darkest times.

"Jew, Jew! Cowardly pig," they said.

Much more of the incendiary street rhetoric has come from German Muslims, many of whom are recent immigrants.

Fired Oklahoma City nursing home worker threatened beheading, police say

In a bizarre coincidence, a fired Oklahoma City nursing home employee was arrested Friday after a co-worker reported he threatened to cut her head off.

Jacob Mugambi Muriithi, 30, is being held in the Oklahoma County jail on a terrorism complaint. His bail is set at $1 million.

“We take these threats very seriously,” Oklahoma County District Attorney David Prater said.

The arrest came on the same day police in Moore revealed fired Vaughan Foods worker Alton Alexander Nolen beheaded a co-worker after he was fired Thursday. Nolen is a Muslim convert.

He also tried to kill another woman, officials said.

The incident happened late Thursday afternoon at a Vaughan Foods processing plant in Moore, Okla.

Iraqi Woman Activist Killed by Islamic State

Militants with the Islamic State group publicly killed a rights lawyer in the Iraqi city of Mosul after finding her guilty of apostasy in a self-styled Islamic court, the United Nations said Thursday.

Samira Salih al-Nuaimi was seized from her home on Sept. 17 after allegedly posting messages on Facebook that were critical of the militants' destruction of religious sites in Mosul. Her Facebook page appears to have been removed since her death.

According to the United Nations Assistance Mission in Iraq, al-Nuaimi was tried in a so-called "Sharia court" for apostasy, after which she was tortured for five days before the militants sentenced her to public execution.

"By torturing and executing a female human rights' lawyer and activist, defending in particular the civil and human rights of her fellow citizens in Mosul, ISIL continues to attest to its infamous nature, combining hatred, nihilism and savagery, as well as its total disregard of human decency," Nickolay Mladenov, the U.N. envoy to Iraq, said in a statement, referring to the group by an acronym.

“We have every right to be concerned,” Rep. Brian Higgins, D-Buffalo, said at a news conference in Buffalo. “When you’re identified, specifically, by an al-Qaida-inspired publication that is disseminated throughout the world to people who want to do harm to us, they’re paying attention. The bureaucrats in Washington, particularly the Department of Homeland Security, need to pay attention on behalf of the people of this community.”

The magazine’s threat against Buffalo can be found in its Spring 2014 issue, in an article called “24/7 Terrorism” that’s essentially a dull-as-dust account of a September 2013 House subcommittee hearing – with a pro-al-Qaida spin put on it.

“All the participants agreed that the U.S. strategy in countering jihad is failing and fruitless,” the article said of the hearing, which was conducted by the House Homeland Security Committee’s Subcommittee on Counterterrorism and Intelligence. “The following points presented by the contributors demonstrate how so.”

A lawmaker from Hamas recently called for a “massacre” of Jews, explaining that Koran indicates that this must be done.

In a televised address the lawmaker, Yunis Al-Astal, also said that Jews must be forced to pay the “jizya” tax, which under the strict Islamic Sharia doctrine, non-Muslims living under Muslim sovereignty must pay in return for the ruler's protection. Jihadist rebels who have taken control of areas in Syria have imposed such a tax on Christian minorities.
