Boehner spox says Obama "called the speaker again today to reiterate that he won't negotiate on a government funding bill or debt limit"
WAPO/ABC POLL - Disapproval of Congressional Republicans now at 70%...
At the same time, President Obamas approval rating has ticked up due to improved marks among moderate Democrats and independents. No group, however, earns positive marks for their handling of budget negotiations overall.

Jay Carney laying the smackdown on the GOP stenographers right now:
Jon Karl of ABC tried to interrupt him when he was talking to Reuters.
Carney said: "I'm sure you'll represent what the speaker [Boehner] said in just a minute."
Chamber of Commerce announces it will back Republicans that vote to end shutdown, raise debt ceiling
That is significant, because The Chamber provides a financial counter balance to House incumbents that could face a primary challenger if they support a clean continuing resolution to fund the operation of the U.S. government or to raise the sovereign debt that can be issued by the United States Treasury to avoid a default.
The shutdown crisis began last week over an attempt to nullify the ACA by defunding it. Republicans have unsuccessfully tried to repeal or dismantle the ACA 46 times. Opponents claim that it is a job killer, but some leading economists say theres no evidence to substantiate it. Republicans spent months planning their shutdown strategy over the law, an extreme aberration from the normal legislative process and rebuke of the 2012 election.

Disability Fraud: Hal Rogers, Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul should be more ashamed than Eric C. Conn
Eric C. Conn is a crook and it looks like he will get his day in court. He has made millions on possibly thousands of fraudulent disability claims.
But that is more of a symptom of a problem in this part of Kentucky. People have very few job opportunities and turn to these programs for whatever meager living programs like this can give them.
We are the 2nd poorest district in the country and that's what I wish the focus of the story would be when the national media comes to shed a light on our latest problems.
Poverty is the root cause of most of Appalachia's problems and as long as people continue to vote against their interests, that will never change.
McConnell made an appearance in Kentucky's Apple Festival parade today...
From what I've heard, the reception was mixed.
The person that took this photo accepted a sticker from his campaign people and then wadded it up in front of him.
My dad booed him loudly, eliciting an evil glare from his security detail, to which my dad responded, "Hey! It's my right!" A cousin of mine in attendance said he also gave him a piece of his mind. In at least two other incidents I heard about, he was confronted with people screaming things like "GET BACK TO WORK!"
Although anecdotal, there are many that don't appreciate Mitch in this dark red district and I'm glad that he didn't receive the 100% warm reception he thought he'd get.
