House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-CA) insisted on Monday that he had not been coordinating with the White House to smear both the FBI and the investigation into Russian interference in U.S. elections.

During an interview on Fox & Friends, Nunes said that Democrats were spreading the “false narrative” that his office coordinated with the White House before releasing a memo that criticizes the FBI and Justice Department for extending surveillance on a former Trump campaign staffer.

According to Nunes, Democrats are advocating for his removal from the Intelligence Committee because “we’ve been successful getting to the bottom of a lot of real problems for the institutions in our government.”

“There’s no question they want me gone,” he admitted. “But whatever they accuse you of doing is what they’re doing.”

As with every year, the halftime show for tomorrow's Super Bowl, which will be held at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, promises big surprises.

Hopefully our headline was enough to stop you if you didn't want to know this in advance - word is leaking out that Justin Timberlake's set will include a hologram to honor hometown hero Prince.

The news comes via TMZ, who don't say if this will mean Prince will appear in hologram form, or if it will be an image with which he is associated (purple raindrops, the Love Symbol, etc.). Their sources saw four run-throughs of Timberlake's performance, noting that one of them was filmed in case Timberlake has to cancel at the last minute for some reason. They added that there will be plenty of fireworks inside the stadium, but there will neither be a reunion with his former group NSYNC nor an appearance by Janet Jackson, whose halftime show performance with Timberlake in 2004 introduced the phrase "wardrobe malfunction" into the vernacular.

Prince's sister, Tyka Nelson, has discussed the idea of a Prince hologram as part of an exhibition of her brother's memorabilia that will take place in London this October. “A hologram could be done as long as it is of excellent quality," she said. "It would have to allow the fans to experience Prince in the way he allowed us to experience his music.”

“If I were a betting man, I’d bet against the president,” one attorney said, while the other — who represents a high-ranking Trump official — added that he fully expects the indictment to be forthcoming for no other reason than to get Congress to take the matter seriously.

“It’s entirely possible that Mueller may go that route on the theory that, as an open question, it should be for the courts to decide,” the attorney explained to Politico. “Even if the indictment is dismissed, it puts maximum pressure on Congress to treat this with the independence and intellectual honesty that it will never, ever get.”

The attorneys acknowledged that there is a question whether a sitting president can be indicted, but that Mueller’s team is willing to let the courts settle that issue while Congress wrestles with what to do with the embattled president.

Trump’s personal attorney, John Dowd, is betting the president can’t be indicted, saying, “president cannot obstruct justice because he is the chief law enforcement officer” under the Constitution.
