Cultural icon Wavy Gravy on Trump: "I don't know anybody that would support that f*cker."

Wavy Gravy: 'I'm Supporting Anything But Trump'
The Grateful Dead clown and Woodstock emcee on acid tests, ice cream and the horror of a Donald Trump presidency
By David Browne May 10, 2016

Are you reviving Nobody this year?

No. This time, I'm supporting anything but Trump. And people should make their vote count. I suspect that if we do, and if people realize the horror of that possibility, that people that never voted before will rise in mass numbers and blow him out of the water.

I hope you're right.

Trust me on this. The alternative is so horrific. I don't know anybody that I ever talked to that would support that fucker. He's got the right-wing crazies and the disillusioned ones. But we're so much more. I think you'd be stunned to discover how many we are. They always say to me, "Wavy Gravy, you were at Woodstock. How many people do you think are here at this event?" Well, count their feet and divide by two and hope there aren't any pirates.

As Trump mulls over Newt as VP, let's relive this golden oldie from Gingich's past.

Newt Gingrich, crybaby: The famous Daily News cover explained
BY Alexander Nazaryan
Updated: Friday, January 6, 2012, 6:15 PM

Here was Newt Gingrich, leader of the Republican Revolution and defender of civilization on this planet, forced to sit for 25 hours in the back of Air Force One, waiting for President Clinton to stop by and negotiate a budget deal. But Clinton never came back. So Gingrich, in his rage, drafted two resolutions that forced Clinton to bring the federal government to a grinding halt.

Gingrich had been invited aboard Air Force One last week to fly to the funeral of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin. With a budget crisis pending, he expected Clinton would take time out during the flight to talk about a possible solution. But Clinton, who seemed to be genuinely grieving over Rabin's death, stayed up front in a cabin with former Presidents Jimmy Carter and George Bush on both the outward-bound and return trips.

Then, when the plane landed at Andrews Air Force base outside Washington, Gingrich and Senate Majority Leader Bob Dole were asked to deplane by gasp! the rear door.

"This is petty," Gingrich confessed. "I'm going to say up front it's petty, but I think it's human. When you land at Andrews and you've been on the plane for 25 hours and nobody has talked to you and they ask you to get off by the back ramp . . . you just wonder, where is their sense of manners, where is their sense of courtesy?"

Former Mexican President Vicente Fox Lets Loose On ‘Hated Gringo’ And ‘Ugly American’ Donald Trump

“He is the ugly American,” former Mexican president Vicente Fox said in an interview on the Kickass Politics podcast. “He is the hated gringo because he’s attacking all of us. He’s offending all of us.”

Fox also repeated his opinion of Trump’s proposed border wall.

“I’m not going to pay for that fucking wall,” Fox told host Ben Mathis. “And please don’t take out the ‘fucking’ full word.”

Although the interview will be released on Tuesday, it was recorded before Fox apologized for using the same phrase regarding the wall in the past.

Marco Rubio Doesn’t Want To Be Donald Trump’s VP

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Republican Senator Marco Rubio on Monday sought to quash speculation that he might emerge as the vice presidential running mate for Republican candidate Donald Trump, saying he still has deep reservations about the billionaire.

“He will be best served by a running mate and by surrogates who fully embrace his campaign. As such, I have never sought, will not seek and do not want to be considered for vice president,” Rubio said in a statement.

Trump had dismissed Rubio as “little Marco” and won the state handily, dealing a death blow to Rubio’s campaign. Rubio had blasted Trump as a con artist who is not a conservative.

“While Republican voters have chosen Donald Trump as the presumptive GOP nominee, my previously stated reservations about his campaign and concerns with many of his policies remain unchanged,” Rubio said. GOP, short for Grand Old Party, is an acronym for the Republican Party.

"Mr. Cruz is planning a Monday evening conference call..."

Senator Ted Cruz’s supporters are mounting an effort to seize control of the Republican platform and the rules governing the party’s July convention, the first indication that Mr. Cruz will not simply hand his delegates over to Donald J. Trump.

In an email sent Sunday to pro-Cruz convention delegates, a top aide to the Texas senator wrote that it was “still possible to advance a conservative agenda at the convention.”

“To do that, it is imperative that we fill the Rules and Platform Committees with strong conservative voices like yours,” wrote Ken Cuccinelli, who was the campaign’s former delegate wrangler and a former attorney general of Virginia. “That means you need to come to the national convention and support others in coming, too!”

Mr. Cruz is planning a Monday evening conference call where, as Mr. Cuccinelli writes, Mr. Cruz’s former officials plan to “discuss what we can do at the convention to protect against liberal changes to our platform, and how we can right the wrongs in the rules from 2012!”

Ryan "willing to step down as Republican Convention chairman if Trump asks."

Breaking News: Speaker Paul Ryan has reportedly suggested that he’d be willing to step down as Republican Convention chairman if Donald J. Trump asks. Ryan has yet to endorse Trump as the presumptive GOP nominee.

Oh, John McCain. You are STILL a maverick. Trump "could be a capable leader"...

Time to Photoshop the Donald's head onto Bush's body?

Sen. John McCain said in an interview aired Sunday he believes Donald Trump “could be a capable leader” and reiterated his stance that he will “support the nominee” of the Republican Party.

The Arizona Republican seemed more resigned than ever to the fact that that nominee will be Trump.

“You have to listen to the people that have chosen the nominee of our Republican Party,” McCain said on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “I think it would be foolish to ignore them.”

But McCain, who was the 2008 GOP presidential nominee, said he still had some reservations about Trump, including the insults he hurls at political opponents.

“I think Paul Ryan is soon to be ‘Cantored,’ as in Eric Cantor,” Palin said in an interview...

Paul Ryan apparently poked a Mama Grizzly when he failed to voice support for Donald Trump late last week.

Sarah Palin told CNN’s Jake Tapper that she’ll support House Speaker Ryan’s challenger in the Wisconsin primary for his seat.

“I think Paul Ryan is soon to be ‘Cantored,’ as in Eric Cantor,” Palin said in an interview broadcast Sunday on State of the Union. Cantor was the Republican House majority leader who was upset in a 2014 primary in Virginia by Dave Brat.

A Mama Grizzly, Palin has said, is a conservative woman with common sense. She told Tapper that Ryan’s career was toast. Ryan announced Thursday that he wasn’t ready to endorse Trump, the all-but-certain Republican nominee. Ryan and Trump are scheduled to meet in Washington on Thursday.
