Conway: Back channels like this are the regular course of business & that's really all that we know

http://www.rawstory.com/2017/05/kellyanne-conway-insists-jared-kushner-was-right-to-set-up-secret-communications-with-russia/

Senior adviser to President Donald Trump Kellyanne Conway told “Fox and Friends” Tuesday that son-in-law Jared Kushner had every right and responsibility to set up a secret backchannel with Russia. In fact, “back channels like this are the regular course of business,” she said citing senior military advisors.

“Back channels like this are the regular course of business and that’s really all that we know,” she said.

Conway refused to comment.

“Because there is no reason to, frankly,” she said. “This entire thing is just a rush to judgment. We have been talking about this for about 8 months and yet … it’s a lot easier to scream Russia, Russia, Russia every day.”

Pay CLOSE attention to what Trump bots are doing on YouTube

I just posed in GD about John Sununu's CNN interview on RussiaGate. Raw Story has developed a penchant for Vimeo over YouTube, so I went to YouTube to find the clip.

If you go to YouTube, type in "Sununu" and then filter it on videos posted today, you will see (it's all for the SAME clip, some edited):

1). "John Sununu Destroys CNN's Coverage of Trump-Russia Investigation" (from "NTK Network&quot

2). Former WH Chief Of Staff Sununu Presses CNN’s Camerota About Irresponsible Coverage Of Trump Admin (from "GOP War Room&quot

3). John Sununu DESTROYS CNN Alisyn Camerota on Trump - Russia Investigation Media Coverage (from "US News Today&quot

4). Former WH Chief Of Staff Sununu: Backchannels Not Unusual And Actually A Positive Asset (from "GOP War Room&quot

5). John Sununu: Only Thing That Concerns Me About Russia Investigation Is The Bad Reporting On It (from "GOP War Room&quot

6). "Sununu to Camerota - How Much Crow Are You Going To Eat On Russia Investigation" (from "Wayne Dupree&quot

7). "‘How Much Crow Are You Going To Eat?’ John Sununu Owns CNN’s Camerota … On CNN" (from "Fan News"

The bots are slowly re-appearing in Trump's Twitter feed, too.

Sununu on Russia: "I don't think there is anything there. So you're implying - youre implying..."

CNN’s Alisyn Camerota fights back laughter as GOP guest melts down over Trump-Russia scandal

http://www.rawstory.com/2017/05/cnns-alisyn-camerota-fights-back-laughter-as-gop-guest-melts-down-over-trump-russia-scandal/

CNN invited former Republican New Hampshire Gov. John Sununu to defend President Donald Trump’s handling of the deepening Russia scandal, but he spent most of the time denying that Trump or his team had done anything wrong — much to the amusement of CNN’s Alisyn Camerota.

During the interview, Camerota asked Sununu what he thought about Jared Kushner during the transition arranging both a back channel to communicate with Russian government officials using their own equipment and to meet with the head of a Russian state bank.

“I don’t think there is anything there,” Sununu said. “So you’re implying — you’re implying — because during the ten weeks [of the presidential transition] everybody is trying to meet the administration. Everybody who is involved in business. Everybody who is involved in politics. I can’t tell you how many people tried to meet with me between the time I was named chief of staff.”

At the end of the interview, Camerota struggled to keep herself from laughing as she told Sununu that “we appreciate your perspective that there is nothing to see here, and that the investigation is, I don’t know, silly.”

Pence's cross-country campaign tour is "just about fundraising for loyal Republican candidates."

Vice President Mike Pence is about to embark on a cross-country summer campaign tour just weeks after filing paperwork to establish his own campaign committee. He has claimed it is just about fundraising for loyal Republican candidates in 2018 but many speculate whether it’s about building his own war chest.

Pence is bouncing around Midwestern battleground states and conservative footholds like Georgia where a special election has Republicans running scared, according to Politico. But the trip comes as his boss is being crushed under the weight of scandals.

“He has an appetite to fight so he’s going to get out there and fight on the president’s behalf,” longtime Pence strategist Nick Ayers told Politico.

It is not unusual for vice presidents to campaign while the president is leading the country. Former Vice President Joe Biden famously traveled to every corner of the country to raise money for Democratic candidates. However, few vice presidents serve under a leader navigating a significant influx of investigations.

Russian officials must be laughing at the U.S. & how a lame excuse for why the Dems lost the election has taken over the Fake News.

Chuck Woolery spouts right wing crap on Twitter, complains that he "can't find work in Hollywood"

Chuck Woolery, the well-coiffed former Wheel of Fortune and Love Connection host, has recently complained that his right-wing views have prevented him from finding work in Hollywood. His foray, via Twitter, into the complex relationship between the European Jewish diaspora, German philosophy and the rise of socialism in 20th century Russia is unlikely to have Burbank's best producers rushing to their phones.

Woolery is no neophyte to the profitable business of attacking and riling liberals and Democrats, often with lines that could have been borrowed from Rush Limbaugh. For example, when telling FOXBusiness earlier in May that his politics stopped him getting work, he added his observation the “left is really operating on all German ideas instead of American ideas.” While this could be a reference to the moral philosophy of Enlightenment-era Immanuel Kant, it far more likely an allusion to Adolf Hitler.

Woolery has also made known his suspicion of Islam, tweeting last week in response to the suicide bombing in Manchester, England.

While he may no longer be a television mainstay, Woolery is the host of a short podcast, Blunt Force Truth, in which he uses his once-ubiquitous baritone to harangue the right’s favorite targets: “liberal nitwits,” “socialist” Europe and the Arab World. One recent segment, for example, involved a tortured joke about liberals and “rectal cranial infusion,” whatever that is. The New York Times, in a measured assessment, called him “a firebrand who takes particular delight in fricasseeing liberal celebrities.”

White House staffers endure daily diet of "snubs and belittling jokes" by "loyalty-demanding" Trump

White House staffers endure daily diet of ‘snubs and belittling jokes’ by ‘loyalty-demanding’ Trump

http://www.rawstory.com/2017/05/white-house-staffers-endure-daily-diet-of-snubs-and-belittling-jokes-by-loyalty-demanding-trump-report/

“Enduring public humiliation has become a defining characteristic of Spicer’s tenure in the White House,” Post reporter Ashley Parker wrote. “Yet being excluded from the papal visit still stunned his colleagues, many of whom expressed pity for him and were visibly uncomfortable talking about the slight.”

As exemplified by Spicer’s treatment, seemingly-personal rebuffs and backhanded compliments are reportedly an expected part of the White House culture under the 45th president.

“In Trump’s White House,” Parker wrote, “aides serve a president who demands absolute loyalty — but who doesn’t always offer it in return. Trump prefers a management style in which even compliments can come laced with a bite, and where enduring snubs and belittling jokes, even in public, is part of the job.”

According to the Post report, these “belittling” comments are directed at everyone from Chief-of-Staff Reince Preibus (who Trump reportedly refers to as “Reince-y”) to Vice President Mike Pence.
