Ladies & Gents, it's become William Shakespeare's Othello, starring Steve Bannon as Iago.

YES! Steve Bannon is a blotchy, bloated drunk uncle.

YES! He's the king of "alternate facts," and while reports have surfaced of readership dropping off at Brietbart, he still has Trump's base in the palm of his hand.

But he has TRUMP there as well, because when you start spouting that "Deep State" crap, you play DIRECTLY to Trump's sizable yet fragile ego. You stoke the Nixonian fires inside of him. You tell him that he isn't getting enough credit for all of the wonderful work he is doing, and that the "leakers" are OUT TO GET HIM.

Are any of my fellow DUers IN sales, or have you ever BEEN in sales? If so,you know a core "Sales 101" tenet...essential in the past, frowned upon in the latest generation of sales professionals...is to "find the source of your prospect's pain and AMPLIFY it, make them feel it so acutely that you can ride in on the white horse with the solution.

In a similar fashion, Shakespeare's Iago was a shit disturber. He found Othello's tragic flaw, fanned the flames, and that's how we got to the "tragic" part of the tragedy.

Drunk uncle is rubbing salt in Trump's wounds and TELLING HIM HE IS RIGHT, which is easily the single worst thing you could do with someone as unhinged as Trump. Doing so also drives the wedge between Bannon and Kushner a little deeper. "HEY, Mr. President...I know Jared is your son-in-law, and he really is talented and brilliant, and I have nothing but the utmost respect for him, but with all due respect to YOU, I DON'T THINK HE UNDERSTANDS WHAT YOU ARE GOING THROUGH..."

I mean, you can HEAR that conversation HAPPENING...can't you?

The basis for my take on this is the article which appeared in Raw Story this morning, "Trump ‘obsesses’ over Russia probe as Bannon fears he’s the victim of a ‘deep state’ conspiracy" (http://www.rawstory.com/2017/05/trump-obsesses-over-russia-probe-as-bannon-fears-hes-the-victim-of-a-deep-state-conspiracy/).

Will Trump's Memorial Day Address include a discussion of how he won the Electoral College vote?

I really am not looking forward to it. If by some miracle he avoids self-promotion, I can already hear his robotic teleprompter tones.

‘Anti-feminist’ Kellyanne Conway reveals how she uses her ‘femininity’ to influence Trump

http://www.rawstory.com/2017/05/anti-feminist-kellyanne-conway-reveals-how-she-uses-her-femininity-to-influence-trump/

Counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway thinks her gender “has helped her with the president,” in part because she’s able to “respectfully” and “deferentially” tell Donald Trump her opinions.

Conway made the comments while speaking with Business Insider about what it’s like to work with Trump—who’s made a range of sexist and offensive comments about females and once insisted women “get it better” than men.

Conway argued that Trump’s cabinet—which is largely comprised of white men—doesn’t give a clear indication of where the president’s priorities lie.

“Attaching a hard and fast number to it is not as relevant as the contributions that are made by the women who are at the table,” Conway said.

DHS Public Database Includes Personal Information of Abuse Victims

DHS Public Database Includes Personal Information of Abuse Victims

http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2017/05/immigrant-domestic-violence-victims-appear-dhs-database

The Trump administration's effort to highlight crimes committed by undocumented immigrants has become a nightmare for immigrant victims of abuse, with the personal information of undocumented victims appearing in a publicly searchable database launched last month by the Department of Homeland Security.

Last month, DHS created the Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement (VOICE) office, aimed at assisting the victims of crimes committed by immigrants. At the same time, it rolled out a database called Victim Information and Notification Exchange, or DHS-VINE, ostensibly to provide information on the custody status and detention information of immigrants who have been accused of crimes. But the database appears to contain information about a much broader group of people, including undocumented immigrants in detention who are not suspected of crimes other than lacking legal status—and who are sometimes themselves victims of abuse.

The problem was first highlighted by the Tahirih Justice Center, which supports immigrant women and girls escaping gender-based violence. On Thursday, the group wrote a letter to US Immigration and Customs Enforcement explaining that the personal information of immigrant survivors was searchable in DHS-VINE.

Earlier this month, the center was able to find the personal information of one of its clients in the database. The group then reached out to attorneys who work with immigrant survivors; together, they confirmed that the names, custody status, and detention location of other survivors were searchable in the DHS-VINE system. The database also includes information about where detainees are housed and sends notifications when they are transferred or released, potentially allowing abusers or traffickers to find their victims and cause further harm. "Their listing in the public database is a violation of federal statute which carries significant penalties under the law, and puts survivors' lives in danger," the center notes in its letter.

Wild horses in Nevada could be sold for slaughter under Trump budget plan

Wild horses in Nevada could be sold for slaughter under Trump budget plan

http://news3lv.com/news/local/wild-horses-in-nevada-could-be-sold-for-slaughter-under-trump-budget-plan

PALOMINO VALLEY, Nev. (AP) — President Donald Trump’s budget proposal calls for saving $10 million next year by selling wild horses captured throughout the U.S. West without the requirement that buyers guarantee the animals won’t be resold for slaughter.

Wild-horse advocates say the change would gut nearly a half-century of protection for an icon of the American West and could send thousands of free-roaming mustangs to foreign slaughterhouses for processing as food.

They say the Trump administration is kowtowing to livestock interests who don’t want the region’s estimated 59,000 mustangs competing for precious forage across more than 40,000 square miles of rangeland in 10 states managed by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management.

The budget proposal marks the latest skirmish in the decades-old controversy pitting ranchers and rural communities against groups that want to protect the horses from Colorado to California.

"This cant be a relitigation of an election that is now past..."

Sen. Corey Booker (D-N.J.) isn’t hoping to impeach President Donald Trump anytime soon, the potential 2020 presidential candidate said Sunday.

“I’m not going to rush impeachment,” Booker said on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “I think we need to deal with this in a very sobered way. This can’t be a relitigation of an election that is now past. This has to be about an objective assessment about the facts that are going on right now.”

Some Democratic lawmakers have called for opening impeachment proceedings amid continued revelations of Trump’s apparent attempts to obstruct an investigation into collusion between his campaign and Russia. Other Democrats, however, have cautioned that seriously pushing impeachment could risk ostracizing voters they need to win seats in the midterm elections.

“In focus groups in swing districts ... people still very much respect the office of the presidency and don’t like the idea of Democrats jumping to any conclusions on such a serious thing,” said Meredith Kelly, communications director for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
