Joe & Mika on @ 7...the show is taking the entire first hour to eviscerate the pig before roasting

YES,,,this is a DISTRACTION orchestrated by Trump, designed to take the focus off of failed TrumpCare and yesterday's voter suppression activities.

Still, for a cable-obsessed non-worker like Trump, sitting in front of the TV today is going to be one unpleasant little activity.

Other than his robotic wife's press secretary and the wookie standing in for Sean Spicer, few people have stepped up to "defend" him

Good luck with that, The Dude: Jeff Bridges "rooting for" Trump "to do well by our country"

“Everybody has something different and unique to contribute to society and with different ways of doing it,” Bridges told the A.P. in reference to Johnny Depp, who made an ill-advised joke about assassinating the president at England’s Glastonbury Festival. “Some people will be blatantly out there talking about their disappointments and ridiculing the way President Trump is acting.”

Speaking after a panel centered on child hunger at a meeting of the Western Governors Association in Montana, Bridges, a spokesperson for the “No Kid Hungry” campaign, admitted he is concerned about the administration’s proposal to cut nearly $200 billion from food stamp funding.

“The health of our children is a wonderful compass that can tell us if our country is going the right direction,” he said. “That means we’re off course, so I’m rooting for the president to get on course.”

As for what he thinks of Trump specifically, Bridges said, “I’m rooting for him to do well by our country.” Adding a Lebowski–esque flourish, he continued, “I’m rooting for him as a human being to do the cool thing.”

Oh, I DEFINITELY want some of what Mitch McConnell is smoking.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) warned his fellow Republicans that he might reach out for Democratic votes if they can’t pass the health care bill written behind closed doors in his office, reported ABC News.

The majority leader is pushing for a new version of the bill by Friday to send to the Congressional Budget Office, after at least eight Republicans came out against the one written with little outside input by McConnell and his staff, reported NBC News.

But McConnell threatened GOP senators that he would seek Democratic input if Republicans didn’t rally behind the bill.

“Either Republicans will agree and change the status quo or … we’ll have to sit down with (Minority Leader Chuck) Schumer,” McConnell said Wednesday, after leaving a White House meeting with President Donald Trump and most of the GOP senators.

Ari Melber to take over Van Susteren's 6 p.m. hour on MSNBC

http://money.cnn.com/2017/06/29/media/greta-van-susteren-msnbc-out/index.html

"They let her go," her husband, John Coale, told CNNMoney. He said she'd found out earlier today, and added, "We're working out contract issues now."

In a memo to staffers, MSNBC President Phil Griffin said, "MSNBC and Greta Van Susteren have decided to part ways. Greta is a well-regarded television veteran and one of only a few broadcasters who can say they've hosted shows at all three major cable news networks. We are grateful to her and wish her the best."

Griffin also announced that Ari Melber, MSNBC's chief legal correspondent, will take over the 6 p.m. hour that had been Van Susteren's.

As evidenced by Coale's comments, it appears that the news arrived abruptly on Thursday even for Van Susteren herself. A friend of Van Susteren's told CNNmoney that she was given no prior notice of the decision.

Huckabee Sanders: Trump's Mika tweets are OK because he has to fight back against liberal media

Then again, what else did we expect her to say?

"There have been an outrageous number of personal attacks — not just to him —but to everyone around him," Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the White House deputy press secretary, said on Fox News.

"This is a president who fights fire with fire and certainly will not be allowed to be bullied by liberal media and the liberal elites within the media or Hollywood or anywhere else," she added.

"I think what's necessary is to push back against unnecessary attacks on the president," Sanders said. "I've seen far worse come out of that show."

Trump "will punch back 10 times harder" if "attacked": Melania defends vicious "facelift" tweets

Trump ‘will punch back 10 times harder’ if ‘attacked’: Melania Trump defends vicious ‘facelift’ tweets

http://www.rawstory.com/2017/06/trump-will-punch-back-10-times-harder-if-attacked-melania-trump-defends-vicious-facelift-tweets/

First Lady Melania Trump did not condemn her husband President Donald Trump’s vicious personal attack on “Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski on Thursday, but instead issued a statement defending the president and plugging her anti-cyber bullying program.

“As the First Lady has stated publicly in the past, when her husband gets attacked, he will punch back 10 times harder,” said a statement from Melania Trump spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham, according to CNN.

Talking Points Memo pointed to a tweet by NBC News national correspondent Peter Alexander that said when Grisham was asked about Melania Trump’s stance against cyber bullying, the response was that Melania Trump is “continuing to be thoughtful about her platform.”
