On Wednesday night, Sarah Isgur Flores, Carly Fiorina’s Deputy Campaign Manager, hit back at MSNBC’s Chris Hayes over whether or not climate change was to blame for the California drought.

Hayes seemed shocked that Fiorina would oppose the United States and other nations agreeing to spend trillions of dollars to fight climate change as a “remarkable thing for a Republican, a believer in American exceptionalism to say, that there is this huge pressing challenge, it’s a really big thing that the world has to come together in. And it is not going to happen.”

Flores rejected Hayes’ notion that Republicans who believe in “American exceptionalism” should take the lead on fighting climate change and instead blamed liberal environmentalists for the California drought:

I think her point is that liberals have been willing to sacrifice jobs, people’s livelihoods on the name of ideology rather than actually explaining to people what it would take to make a difference. Liberals don’t explain that. All they do is destroy a lot of jobs in order to say they’re doing something.

The attorney who represents Kim Davis, the Kentucky clerk jailed for refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, said on "Fox and Friends Weekend" this morning that his client has no regrets about standing up for her religious beliefs.

Mat Staver said that Davis is very content despite having been jailed for four days, telling him "all is well" during their meeting.

"She is content where she is. She has no regrets. And one thing she will not do is she will not violate her conscience," Staver stated.

"Frankly, Kim is someone like Martin Luther King, Jr. in the sense that he was willing to pay the consequences for his decision and his conscience," Staver said. "And, in that respect, Kim is also in that long line of individuals who are willing to pay the consequence for a conscious decision regarding their conscience and their religious decisions."

Julio Perez, a 22-year-old man from Laredo, was arrested yesterday for carving his name on a wall in the Monks' Burial Room of The Alamo.

An Alamo Tour Guide saw Perez using a key to etch into the wall. She called out to him "You can't do that, you need to stop!", according to the police report.

Perez fled from the guide, but was apprehended and detained by Alamo Rangers officers, who handle security at the shrine.

The guide found a 3-inch by 1-inch carving that read "Julio" on the limestone wall.

Conservative Heads Explode Over Kentucky's Bigoted County Clerk

Kim Davis, a clerk in Rowan County, Kentucky, has been dominating the news cycle all week with her stalwart refusal to do her job. Davis, who objects to same-sex marriage, has not been allowing her office to issue licenses to same-sex couples, claiming her personal religious belief about other people's relationships should trump the law of the land. Even though the Supreme Court has rejected her argument, Davis remains defiant, and on Thursday she was jailed for her actions.

This puts the Republican presidential candidates – all one billion of them – in a sticky situation. On the one hand, it's unwise to be seen supporting someone who is clearly destined to be a historical villain – the George Wallace of the gay civil rights era. On the other hand, you need those evangelical voters who don't know, or don't care, that future generations will see them as irredeemable bigots. Here are some of the ways conservatives are handling the situation, ranked roughly from most irrational to least.

Mike Huckabee, who is running more for the evangelical speaker circuit than for president, got a headful of steam, apparently believing it's better to destroy the rule of law than let gay couples legally marry. "When people of conviction fight for what's right they often pay a price, but if they don't and we surrender, we will pay a far greater price for bowing to the false God of judicial supremacy," he railed, claiming that the Supreme Court has no authority at all over these matters. "Government is not God. No man – and certainly no unelected lawyer – has the right to redefine the laws of nature or of nature's God."

Since God isn't exactly coming off his cloud telling us what to do here, I guess we'll just have to take Huckabee's word on it.

MOTÖRHEAD was forced to cut its concert in Austin, Texas short last night (Tuesday, September 1) due to continued health issues experienced by the band's frontman, Lemmy Kilmister.

According to GlideMagazine.com, MOTÖRHEAD delivered only three songs — "Damage Case", "Stay Clean" and "We Are Motörhead" — before a "fatigued and winded" Lemmy announced the next track, "Metropolis", and then let out a sigh, telling the crowd, "I can't do it." He then left the stage at Emo's with the rest of his band and returned moments later and apologized to a disappointed but supportive audience. He said: "You are one of the best gigs in America, and I would love to play for you, but I can't… So please accept my apologies. Next time, all right?" The house lights and music then came on, before "concerned" and "slightly annoyed" fans began funneling out. Fan-filmed video footage of MOTÖRHEAD's entire Austin appearance — shot from the front row — can be seen below.

The latest MOTÖRHEAD walk-off follows a similarly abbreviated performance last week in Salt Lake City, where the band cited the high altitude as the reason behind Lemmy's inability to breathe. A show in Denver, at an even higher altitude, was scrapped the following day before MOTÖRHEAD ever took the stage.

Lemmy, who turned 69 years old in December, in 2013 suffered a haematoma (where blood collects outside of a blood vessel), causing the cancelation of a number of the band's European festival shows. The band has since scrapped a couple of tours and, during the 2013 edition of the Wacken Open Air festival in Germany, abandoned its set midway through so Lemmy could be taken to the hospital.
