I have a black eye right now. I know that's not him, that's not who he is; it's just the Alzheimer's
Glen Campbell Moved From Alzheimer's Care Facility
Legendary singer-guitarist returned home in July, according to wife Kim
Glen Campbell's wife Kim has opened up about coping with the late stages of her husband's battle with Alzheimer's disease, revealing that the legendary singer-songwriter returned home in late July from a medical facility.
"He calls me Mrs. Campbell. But he definitely understands smiles, hugs, kisses. He's physically healthy, cheerful and content most of the time," Kim told the Chattanooga Times Free Press of Chattanooga, Tennessee, noting that she is now her husbands primary care-giver and that it can be challenging.
Kim, Campbell's wife of 33 years, says the Country Music Hall of Famer has entered the sixth of the disease's seven stages so his communication has diminished considerably and he has, as many Alzheimers patients do, become prone to physical outbursts. One resulted in a black eye for Kim.
"He can become extremely combative if you try to redirect him to something that he doesn't want to do," she explained to the newspaper. "I have a black eye right now. I know that's not him, that's not who he is; it's just the Alzheimer's."

Roger Waters on Donald Trump: 'He is Pig-Ignorant'
http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/roger-waters-on-donald-trump-he-is-pig-ignorant-20150915
With a GOP debate scheduled for Wednesday, Roger Waters won't be throwing his support behind Donald Trump. The outspoken former Pink Floyd member and architect behind The Wall tells Rolling Stone during a soon-to-be-published, in-depth interview about his upcoming concert film, Roger Waters The Wall, that the businessman and Republican presidential candidate is "the epitome of anything that might be considered bad" and "entrepreneurship gone wrong."
Waters admits he has been amused by Trump's ideas, but only to a point. "I have laughed except it's not funny that he's as popular as he is," Waters says. "His ideas are not outlandish at all. It's American exceptionalism gone crazy and delivered under the umbrella of absolute ignorance. He is pig-ignorant and he always was and he always will be. He lives in the illusion that he's admirable in some way. And obviously for somebody like me, he stands for everything that is not admirable in American society."
Trump has been campaigning across the country with the slogan "Let's Make America Great Again," an idea Waters takes exception to. "'It's the worst possible slogan anybody could ever come up with," he says. "It's silly and disgusting as well, unless they wanted to hark back to the potential. If the Founding Fathers hadn't been so up their own asses, they might have come up with a system that fell somewhere between republican democracy that was going to work and that had proper checks and balances to prevent it disintegrating into what it has become, which is a country for sale to the highest bidder with the Supreme Court at the top of it, who's appointed by the highest bidder eventually."
Waters cited the businessman's media exposure as the reason Trump is so popular. "The mainstream media in this country tend only to report a very limited section of ideas and views," he adds. "So it's perfectly understandable why people would believe Donald Trump's nonsense, because it's important to the 1 percent to propagate and disseminate these theories and these system beliefs in order to retain control. It's organized theft on a giant level, a huge scale, and is extremely efficient and well-organized."

Meg McGuffin, Miss Alabama: Jeb and Chris could "absolutely do the job," but...

Miss Alabama Meg McGuffin didn't take home the Miss America crown during Sunday's pageant.
But thanks to her indictment of Donald Trump during her Q&A, McGuffinwho was named the night's fourth runner-upis the contestant America is talking about the morning after.
According to a poll released this week, Donald Trump is leading Republican candidates by 32 percent of the votes, Kyle asked. Why do you think hes leading by such an overwhelming margin? McGuffin had strong words for Trump In her answer.
I think Donald Trump is an entertainer. And I think he says whats on a lot of peoples minds but I think that the Republican party should be absolutely terrified of all the attention that he is taking from incredible candidates like Jeb Bush and Chris Christie who could absolutely do the job of president of the United States. And if I were a Republican, I would absolutely be terrified of that. Thank you.

George Takei: "Let us be clear: This woman is no hero to be celebrated."
Well this is a bit of a circus. So let us be clear: This woman is no hero to be celebrated. She broke her oath to uphold the Constitution and defied a court order so she could deny government services to couples who are legally entitled to be married. She is entitled to hold her religious beliefs, but not to impose those beliefs on others. If she had denied marriage certificates to an interracial couple, would people cheer her? Would presidential candidates flock to her side? In our society, we obey civil laws, not religious ones. To suggest otherwise is, simply put, entirely un-American.

"Its kind of like flying an aircraft. When you run into unexpected headwinds, you better find a safe place to land and thats exactly what we did last Friday," Perry said.
Perry added that it's too early for him to decide which remaining candidate(s) he plans to back, but he said that inflammatory rhetoric like Donald Trump's is damaging to the GOP.
"We need to have conservative principles, not hot rhetoric. And all too often we heard this rhetoric out of Donald Trump that was very offensive to individuals. We need to be bringing people to the Republican Party who believe that there are principles."

In an effort to expose the financial loopholes and "seed-based" faith preyed upon by televangelists, Last Week Tonight's John Oliver founded his own church called "Our Lady of Perpetual Exemption" to test the law's resiliency. After three weeks and tens of thousands of dollars raised from Oliver's fervent following, the host and his "wife" Wanda Jo (played by Rachel Dratch) announced they were shuttering their church, but it wasn't because the government stepped in. Instead, when Oliver asked his congregation to send in their seeds, some viewers took the message way too literally.
"The reason we are shutting this church down is we received a different kind of seed. We received and this is all too true not one, not two, not three, but four packages containing jars and/or vials of semen," Oliver told his followers. "Some looked fake, but others did not." Dratch added, "We live our lives by one hard and fast rule: When someone sends you jizz through the mail, it's time to stop doing whatever you're doing."
Despite the closure of Our Lady of Perpetual Exemption, the church did do some good in its short life: In addition to shining a harsh light on televangelism, Oliver's fake house of worship raised thousands of dollars which the host then donated to Doctors Without Borders. Oliver also received actual planting seeds, 12 bobbleheads of Minnesota Timberwolves bust Jonny Flynn and a shirt stamped with "John Oliver Is a Rat Faced Bastard," but it was the "Penis Grigio" that pushed him over the edge.
"Setting up churches is all fun and games until someone gets sperm in an envelope," Oliver said as the moving company swarmed the set to take away all of his seeds. "Don't send us anything anymore. If you want to send money to a fake church, send it to Scientology."

COST PER PLATE for your dinner: $25K. Where's the MONEY GO? HINT: He's orange.
WASHINGTON With Canada moving ever closer to building a new publicly owned international crossing in Detroit, the Moroun family, which owns the rival Ambassador Bridge, continues to be politically active, throwing what was billed as a $25,000-a-plate dinner for U.S. House Speaker John Boehner.
The Detroit Free Press recently obtained a copy of a fact sheet put out by Boehners political team prior to the Aug. 10 event, which listed a $2,500-per-couple reception at the Country Club of Detroit to be followed by a $25,000-per-person dinner at the family residence in Grosse Pointe Shores, Michigan.
The overall target for both events as well as a $10,000 gift from the host committee was $250,000 for the Boehner for Speaker Committee, a fundraising arm of the speakers political apparatus used to fund his leadership PAC, the Ohio GOP and the National Republican Congressional Committee.
But while the Moroun family Manuel (Matty) Moroun, his son Matthew and their wives continue to support federal officeholders, political leaders and presidential aspirants, its unclear what effect, if any, it is having on the rival bridge or the familys attempts to build their own second span.
