WHOOOOPSIE DAISY...Ted Lieu fact-checks Steffi DUI Grisham's alternative impeachment "facts."

Ted Lieu

Dear @PressSec: You are correct @realDonaldTrump did not mention he would block the military aid package to Ukraine in the phone call with the Ukrainian leader (according to the incomplete transcript).

That's because Trump HAD ALREADY BLOCKED the military aid package to Ukraine.

Stephanie Grisham @PressSec · 6h

❌ Myth: The “promise” offered was related to military aid for Ukraine.

✔️ Fact: There was no mention whatsoever of the military aid package to Ukraine.

Trump plans to allow 18,000 refugees into the U.S. in 2020 (as opposed to 30,000 in 2019)

Mother Jones

Donald Trump just announced plans to allow no more than 18,000 refugees into the country in 2020. For comparison, the “refugee ceiling” for 2019—previously the lowest in American history—was 30,000 people.

Trump: "Can't have better testimony than that!"

Donald J. Trump

The President of Ukraine said that he was NOT pressured by me to do anything wrong. Can’t have better testimony than that! As V.P., Biden had his son, on the other hand, take out millions of dollars by strong arming the Ukrainian President. Also looted millions from China. Bad!

Natasha Bertrand

NEW: Former Trump official confirms that WH started placing Trump call transcripts into NSC’s codeword system—effectively concealing them—sometime after Mexico, Australia transcript leaks in 2017.
Experts say doing that poses whole host of natsec risks.

BWAHAHA! Eric steps on Don Jr's claim that Trump spawn stopped doing international business

Fox News host Jesse Watters made the false claim that when President Donald Trump officially took office his children stopped doing international business out of caution. Donald Trump Jr. even retweeted the video of the claim.

Less than 24 hours after the tweet, Eric Trump destroyed the claim with an announcement of new development for Trump’s Scotland golf course. Scotland is not in the United States and thus considered “international.”

“Congratulations to our extraordinary @TrumpScotland team! Minutes ago, we received full and total approval for a new phase of development to include 500 homes, 50 cottages, sports center, retail and more,” Eric Trump bragged.

Rudy: "I will be the hero! These morons--when this is over, I will be the hero!"

Elaina Plott

Rudy Giuliani was nearly shouting in my phone call with him. “It is impossible that the whistle-blower is a hero and I’m not. And I will be the hero! These morons—when this is over, I will be the hero,” he told me.

Trump: "There should be a way of stopping (impeachment) -- maybe legally, through the courts."

Lewandowski may lead White House impeachment team

Lewandowski may lead White House impeachment team

Corey Lewandowski, the political operative who helped elect President Trump, has had conversations with White House officials in recent days about potentially taking a position inside the administration to help Trump confront a looming impeachment fight.

The discussions, including a Thursday afternoon meeting at the White House, reflect the growing recognition among Trump’s allies and advisers that he is without a clear strategy for managing the crisis, which exploded in stunning fashion this week.

Trump's 2016 campaign manager would be in a crisis management type role, and the idea as it currently stands would be for Lewandowski to assemble a team that mirrors the one that existed in Bill Clinton’s White House when he was facing his own impeachment.

The list of potential players on the team includes David Bossie, his former deputy campaign manager who angered the President earlier this year by soliciting funds using Trump’s name. Bossie served as the chief investigator of the House Oversight Committee in 1997, helping scrutinize Clinton.

Trump Attacks Whistle-Blower's Sources and Alludes to Punishment for Spies

Source: New York Times

WASHINGTON — President Trump on Thursday morning told a crowd of staff from the United States Mission to the United Nations that he wants to know who provided information to a whistle-blower about his phone call with the president of Ukraine, saying that whoever did so was “close to a spy” and that “in the old days,” spies were dealt with differently.

The remark stunned people in the audience, according to a person briefed on what took place, who had notes of what the president said. Mr. Trump made the statement about several minutes into his remarks before the group of about 50 people at the event intended to honor the United States Mission. At the outset, he condemned the former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr.’s role in Ukraine at a time when his son Hunter Biden was on the board of a Ukrainian energy company.

Mr. Trump repeatedly referred to the whistle-blower and condemned the news media reporting on the complaint as “crooked.” He then said the whistle-blower never heard the call in question.

“I want to know who’s the person who gave the whistle-blower the information because that’s close to a spy,” Mr. Trump said. “You know what we used to do in the old days when we were smart with spies and treason, right? We used to handle it a little differently than we do now.”
