Miles Archer's JournalRick Scott: " I put out my ideas." Wait a minute, Chuck! FEED THE TUNA MAYO!
Context for my subject line, in case it made no sense:
I put a plan out when I ran in '10, '14, '18, Scott said on Monday, referring to his campaigns for governor and his 2018 Senate run. Thats what Floridians expect out of me. Im a business guy. I put out my ideas. I came up here to change the direction of Washington. Im not going to be part of the establishment.
...HE'S AN "IDEA GUY" who depends on Americans being SO STUPID that they don't see "sunset" as a euphemism for "END," and that they would WELCOME a Republican tribunal voting yearly to see if they'd get benefits (unless they became "too busy" to schedule a vote).
Nikki Haley 2024...the GOP's Stuart Smalley contender. She's good enough, and doggone it, she...
Nikki Haley announces 2024 White House bid
It's sad, really...I think she GROSSLY OVERESTIMATES her national / bipartisan appeal. I could give 100 reasons why the U.S. is not going to make her our 47th President, and why she will not be the one to "shatter the glass ceiling," but why bother. Let her have her moment of delusion. Let her try to squeeze into the 2024 GOP clown car, with Trump at the wheel and DeSantis riding shotgun.
Because you're good enough, Nikki, and smart enough, and doggone it, people LIKE you! Just not enough to make you President.
The media needs to take a step back before armchair quarterbacking a Nikki Haley campaign
I'm not going to post the link to the Politico article here. It's not a Haley endorsement or blatant Republican talking points, but it misses the beat, and badly.
It tries to frame her as someone who "should be" the "ideal" female Republican candidate to "break the glass ceiling."
Been to South Carolina lately? A lot of folks aren't Haley fans, and that INCLUDES REPUBLICANS.
The Politico article mentions Carly Fiorina and the sexist attacks she endured from Trump in the primaries. That's true, but...I WORKED AT HEWLETT PACKARD WHILE SHE WAS IN CHARGE and people dislike her because of WHO and WHAT she is, NOT her gender.
I don't doubt that Haley WOULD have SOME sexist remarks come her way. But I want to be very, very clear...I don't like her POLITICS, I don't like the way she has flip-flopped on TRUMP, I don't like her AS A PERSON and that has NOTHING to do with her gender. so we need to RECONSIDER the media labeling ANY criticism of her on ANY level as "a sexist attack."
I would once again like to thank the Red Hen Restaurant for enforcing their right to refuse service.
The choice is no longer between right or left. The choice is between normal and crazy.INDEED, Sarah Huckleberry Sanders. INDEED.
Following a SOTU that made R's look like clowns, Sarah Sanders dons rubber nose & floppy shoes
I hit the "mute" button, I couldn't take it. Had the closed captioning on, though.
After MTG acting like a complete fool, Sanders decides to give a tutorial on "Wokeness" and all that goes with it.
I'll give Republicans credit, they really know how to take the temperature of the room.
Thank you for the Valentine's hearts!
I've been less active on DU for a while, but I'm still here.
I think what happened is when we reached that moment were we KNEW Trump was not going to get a second term, all of the "fight or flight response" anxiety that led up to the election released itself and I just floated off somewhere.
But...that was then, this is now. Thanks again.
That LOOK. That McCarthy LOOK as President Biden lists successes. WHERE have I SEEN that LOOK?
In a TRULY selfless act, Joe Manchin wants to HELP Republicans "fix" Social Security. Group Hug!
In a statement to Bloomberg Government, White House spokesperson Andrew Bates called the proposed commissions a "death panel for Medicare and Social Security," repurposing a term that GOP lawmakers used frequently in their attacks on the Affordable Care Act.
Bates said the GOP's renewed push for Social Security and Medicare commissions represents the "latest in a long line of ultimatums about how they'll act to kill jobs, businesses, and retirement accounts if they can't cut Medicare and Social Security benefits."
The commissions in question are central to legislation known as the TRUST Act, which Sens. Mitt Romney (R-Utah), Kyrsten Sinema (I-Ariz.), Manchin (D-W.Va.), and other lawmakers reintroduced in 2021 and have frequently touted as a potential path to a bipartisan compromise on Social Security and Medicare.

WOW! REPUBLICANS are investigating SANTOS and the SUSPENSE IS KILLING ME! ETHICS! OMFG! WOW!
"Ethics is moving through, and if Ethics finds something, well take action," McCarthy said of calls to oust Santos from his seat, which he won this past fall.WOW! If KEV is ON it, I'd be TREMBLING IN MY BOOTIES if I were Santos! REPUBLICANS, "moving through," and IF they FIND something, WOWIE ZOWIE!
Our government has officially gone to shit.
Today, on a very special episode of "Ask Ron DeSantis"...
REPORTER: Hi, Governor, first of all, I'd just like to say how much I loved your wife's video about how God created the universe in six days, and on the seventh day rested, and on the eighth day, created a warrior named Ron. She was talking about you, right?
DESANTIS: Yeah, that's right, on the eighth day, God made a warrior, me.
REPORTER: WOW. Just WOW.
DESANTIS: Yeah, tell me about it. Your question?
REPORTER: Oh, right, I almost forgot. There is is story on Politico, "George Santos appears to admit drag queen past in Wiki post." But if I'm not mistaken, you are in the process of voiding a liquor license for a Florida bar that held a drag show. Why is it not OK for this to happen in a bar, but it is OK for a drag queen to hold a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives?
DESANTIS: You just answered your own question, didn't you?
REPORTER: Did I?
DESANTIS: I'd say so.
REPORTER: THANK YOU SO MUCH, Governor DeSantis, and good luck in 2024.
DESANTIS. Yeah.
