I wonder how an unrelenting 2-year Jim Jordan clown show for Fox News cameras will play with voters

The logical side of me says "After two years of Jordan accomplishing nothing beyond mugging for Fox News viewers, voters will have had enough and Democrats will take back the House in 2024."

Then I think about the "red" voters I know personally, and don't believe that at all. I think the Trumpist, "straight red ticket" voters are probably going to be just as amused and entertained by poo-flinging chimp Jordan as they are each night by Tucker Carlson.

THIS is why voters elected Republicans in the midterms? So that Jordan can "investigate" how "conservatives are mistreated?"

"Kevin McCarthy plans to work with Rep. Jim Jordan to "weaponize" the House into a body that conducts "years of hyperpartisan investigations" for political messaging."

"In one of his first acts as speaker, McCarthy called a vote to create a new panel with sprawling authority to investigate how conservatives are mistreated, and every Republican voted in favor."

MSNBC's doing a great job of carrying the GOP's water on the Biden docs situation

I GET THE FACT that it is "news."

And YES, it was a breach of protocol, so investigate it and put it to rest.

But I had to turn off MSNBC because they are having ENDLESS conversations and analysis of this. I think I could sum up what happened in maybe five minutes, ten tops, but the "analysis" just keeps going ON and ON and ON and this morning appears to be the "big story" in MSNBC world.

It hasn't mattered a bit that:

1). Trump LIED ABOUT HAVING the documents
2). Trump DEFIED A SUBPOENA to hand them over
3). He returned a LIMITED NUMBER of docs and said "That's all of them!"

And the worst part of this is that ON MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY, we have Tim Scott, a black Senator, giving a speech that equates treatment of Trump versus Biden with RACIAL INEQUALITY IN AMERICA.

I wonder if we'll get a week away from the 2024 election and Jim Comey will be compelled to send an emergency memo about the Biden docs?

Republicans "have threatened to use the debt ceiling as leverage to demand spending cuts"

This was actually a campaign promise from Republicans during the midterms. While Social Security and Medicare are NOT SPECIFICALLY MENTIONED in this article, we already KNOW both programs were part of this rhetoric last year. They're not talking about the Paul Ryan Tax Cuts For Millionaires that added $1.6 trillion to the deficit. They are talking about extortion, about forcing Democrats to sign on the dotted line for SS / Medicare cuts.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - House of Representatives Speaker Kevin McCarthy said on Sunday he believes Democrats would agree to cap government spending to avoid a U.S. debt default and he wants to discuss the idea with President Joe Biden.

Republicans now in control of the House have threatened to use the debt ceiling as leverage to demand spending cuts from Biden's Democrats, who control the U.S. Senate.

This has raised concerns in Washington and on Wall Street about a bruising fight that could be at least as disruptive as the protracted battle of 2011, which prompted a brief downgrade of the U.S. credit rating and years of forced domestic and military spending cuts.

"I want to sit down with him now so there is no problem," McCarthy said in an interview with Fox News, referring to Biden. "I'm sure he knows there's places that we can change that put America on a trajectory that we save these entitlements instead of putting it into bankruptcy the way they have been spending."

Trump wants FBI to "raid" the White House to see if President Biden has any classified docs there

I'm not posting links...Trump went on "Truth Social" and ranted "“When is the FBI going to raid the many homes of Joe Biden, perhaps even the White House?"

So let me get this straight.

Unlike the LAWFULLY EXECUTED SEARCH of Mar-a-Lago, he wants the FBI to "raid" President Biden's "many homes," and PERHAPS EVEN THE WHITE HOUSE!

He actually called for the FBI to "raid" the WHITE HOUSE to see if the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES has any classified documents IN THE WHITE HOUSE.

I imagine his followers are eagerly lapping this up like kittens with a fresh saucer of milk, but...

...at what point do they question their master's stability?

Trump's infantile, repetitive racist attacks on Elaine Chao

I AM NO FAN OF MS. CHAO AND HER WORK.

She was one of Trump's Cabinet members who COULD HAVE STOOD UP after Jan 6 and been a VOCAL ADVOCATE for his REMOVAL via the 25th Amendment. Instead, she kept quiet, and resigned, rather than say or do something that might upset Dear Leader.

I also don't spend a great amount of time studying the minutiae details of McConnell and Chao's daily adventures, although I do understand that there is ample evidence to suggest that the duo cooked the legislative books to directly benefit her family business in China.

I "don't like" or "don't respect" some people, but it doesn't give me a blank check to attack them with racist filth.

Trump's racist attacks on Chao are exactly the same as his "Pocohontas" bullshit with Elizabeth Warren.

He thinks he's funny and clever, and then repeats the fucking thing endlessly, because he's a child. He's a bitter, angry, senile, morbidly obese, spray-tanned, combed-over racist, lying, malignant narcissist sociopath, rage-posting from his country club.

CONTEXT, in case you wonder, is that he sent out another "Truth Social" attack on McConnell and his wife, which I'm not going to share here.

It's like the Spinal Tap "How much blacker could this album cover be" bit, with Kevin.

"How much humiliation can Kevin take? How blind is his ambition and lust for the Speakers gavel that he will allow a global TV audience to see again and again and again that he's neither liked nor respected?

January 3, 2023

Aw, poor Kev. He wants that precious Speaker's gavel as much as Ralphie wanted that BB gun.

Poor, precious little Kev. He put on his best blue suit and matching sporty brown loafers and scampered out to Mar-a-Lago right after Jan 6 to kiss the ring and ass of Little Lord Pissypants, and this is the thanks that he gets?

MSNBC was showing FAR TOO MANY CLOSEUPS of Jordan and Stefanik...I had to bail. Jordan is already flinging his monkey poo and mugging for the cameras. This is gonna be a long two effing years.

This "Intelligencer" article on poor sad Trump at his country club misses a blindingly key point

“He just goes, plays golf, comes back, and fucks off. He has retreated to the golf course and to Mar-a-Lago,” one adviser said.

https://nymag.com/intelligencer/article/donald-trump-running-for-president-2024.html

Bullshit.

This was primarily what Trump did during his four years in the White House.

Paul Ryan's Ayn Rand Tax Cuts For Millionaires were 100% Paul Ryan...if you want to believe him, something he "dreamed about" at college keggers. Trump rubber stamped them. There is no such thing as a "Trump Tax Cut." It was Ryan.

McConnell's "SCOTUS picks" and "Federal Court pics" came on a list from the Federalist Society. They wrote the checks, sent the list to McConnell, and said "Make it happen." There is no such thing as a "Trump SCOTUS pick" or a "Trump Federal Judge" pick. It was McConnell, acting on orders from the Federalist Society.

Trump's daily schedule had large blocks of "Executive Time," which often referred to him eagerly planted in front of the TV, waiting to hear his name mentioned on Fox "News."

Trump tweeted obsessively, when he had an account. He played $142 million worth of golf on the Taxpayers' dime.

The "Immigration / Border" policy was Miller...kids in cages and the rest. Miller.

Trump's dismantling of Obama era environmental and corporate regulations was FAR LESS of Trump studying these things deep into the night and more a matter of rubber stamping what his staff handed him.

In other words, he played golf and fucked off for four years as president. The only difference is that he's doing it now as a bitter, rage-filled private citizen. The concept of painting this as a "how the mighty have fallen" sob story is 100% bullshit.

I had a Twitter account since 2009. I closed it this month, do not miss it at all.

I am shocked that people who actually bought Musk's messiah complex fatwa, "I MUST SAVE FREE SPEECH AND BY DOING SO THE WORLD."

If you've been following along, Democrats...including, but not limited to Elizabeth Warren...publicly stated that Musk, Bezos and their ilk should pay their fair share in taxes.

Suddenly, Musk becomes an outspoken advocate for Republicans and buys Twitter, restoring Trump, Kanye West, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Mike Lindell, and assorted Nazis.

What hastened my departure is that I can guarantee Musk had the algorithm changed to display more far-right content.

I started seeing EVERY TWEET from Kevin McCarthy, among others, and the tweets would stay at the top of my feed for hours after they were first posted. The rationale is that JOURNALISTS and DEMOCRATIC POLITICIANS I followed followed them.

This never happened BEFORE Musk slithered onto the scene, and BEGAN HAPPENING soon after his arrival.

His entire "SAVE THE WORLD" bullshit is on par with Trump's "Big Lie." He's an arrogant, authoritarian troll...nothing more, nothing less.

The simple joys of deducting your hush money payments to porn stars as "a business expense"

I didn't even know that was legal!

Also, hefty "gift" checks of $50,000 to Don Jr, Eric, & Ivanka, which Trump characterized as "loans" for MORE deductions.

It was also really sweet of the IRS to let Trump off the hook for what are normally mandatory audits of presidents.

Good to see that so far, his tax returns are another witch hunt (except they are finding witches).
