I see two options for Clarence. Is there a third?

I see only one of two things happening.

1). He lives out the rest of his life in his lifetime SCOTUS appointment, enjoying yearly R.V. vacations in the WalMart parking lot

2). Democrats eventually have enough seats in Congress for the majority required to impeach him.

I don't acknowledge "Roberts doing something about him" as an option, because the saga just keeps getting worse, and Roberts is more silent than a mime trying to find his way around that invisible wall.

IS THERE a third possibility?

House Republicans pushing "It Will Never Pass The Senate" MAGA bills IS a red flag.

Andy Biggs, for example. Voters need to understand what will happen to America if they enable Republicans by removing that Senate roadblock in 2024.

Today, Biggs introduced two pieces of legislation, The Accountability for Lawless Violence In Our Neighborhoods Act, which would stop federal funds from being awarded to the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office and require the office to repay certain backdated federal funds, and the No Federal Funds for Political Prosecutions Act, which would prohibit state or local law enforcement agencies from using money or property seized through asset forfeiture to investigate or prosecute the president, vice president, or a candidate for the office of president in a criminal case.

Sue-happy perp Individual One is certainly ACTING like a calm, innocent man with no fear

First, he sues Cohen for $500 million (and in doing so admits Cohen told the truth, thereby admitting his own guilt).

NOW:

Trump threatens to sic 'ferocious legal warriors' onto 'Soros' prosecutors

I mean, his calm, upbeat, bubby demeanor tells me that he's RIGHT, that all of these legal cases against him are nothing more than persecution of the 2024 GOP presidential front-runner, conducted by Trump-hating commie radical leftist socialists.

House GOP pimping bill to "prevent local DA's from pursuing charges against former presidents"

WASHINGTON — New legislation from House Republicans aims to prevent local district attorneys from pursuing charges against former presidents.

The symbolic bill is yet another show of support for Donald Trump, who faces the possibility of criminal charges in Georgia and was arraigned in Manhattan last week for allegedly violating state law with false business records.

*****

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), who chairs the House Judiciary Committee, said Tuesday evening that his committee would mark up the bill in a hurry.

The bill stands little chance of clearing the Democratic-controlled Senate, but it represents an escalation of pro-Trump messaging from House Republicans, who created an entirely new committee to trash the “weaponization of government” against the former president and his supporters, especially by the U.S. Justice Department, which is probing Trump’s efforts to overthrow the 2020 election and his refusal to turn over official records after the end of his term.

Trump attorneys say we can't have the rape trial until the public forgets he was indicted

https://www.thedailybeast.com/donald-trump-asks-to-delay-his-rape-trial-after-new-york-indictment-drama?ref=home

The civil trial, currently scheduled for April 25, comes after former Elle magazine columnist E. Jean Carroll accused the former president of raping her in the mid-1990s and sued him for defamation after he denied the allegation.

In a letter to U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan released Tuesday night, Trump attorneys Joseph Tacopina and Alina Habba request a four-week adjournment in the trial, saying Trump’s right to a fair trial hinges on the “cooling off” period after “the recent deluge of prejudicial media coverage concerning his unprecedented criminal indictment and arraignment in Manhattan.”

Without the pause, “many, if not most, prospective jurors will have the criminal allegations top of mind when judging President Trump’s defense against Ms. Carroll’s allegations,” the letter reads, adding that a break would help contain any potential contamination of prospective jurors.

Those jurors, it continues, “will have the breathless coverage of President Trump’s alleged extra-marital affair with Stormy Daniels still ringing in their ears if [the] trial goes forward as scheduled.”

Looks like "I AM YOUR RETRIBUTION" isn't winning over a lot of Independent & Democratic voters.

I learned my lesson in 2016...I won't say "it can't happen" in 2024.

Republicans have been aggressively leaning into their usual gerrymandering and voter suppression efforts, including installing some of those delightful "Trump loyalists" as electors. And the fact of the matter is that Kamala Harris will STILL BE VICE PRESIDENT when the votes are certified, so I don't think Trump can get away with the "IF YOU DON'T DO THIS I WON'T BE YOUR FRIEND ANY MORE" crap with her.

But you NEVER KNOW what the hell Republicans would "attempt" to get away with.

ON PAPER, America has had more than enough of Trump. If you're into polls, you can read this:

'Dropping like a rock': Bad news for Trump as he plummets into 'fringe candidate' territory

...but all I know is what i see and hear, and Trump is "proposing" nothing more than seeking revenge for wrongs against him, perceived and imaginary, and to be "retribution" for his base. He'd probably take as many 3-day taxpayer-funded golf weekends as he did before. I DON'T SEE THOSE AS "KITCHEN TABLE ISSUES" in America. I could be wrong, but whether Trump "achieves" vengeance or not doesn't keep me up at night as often as food costs, pet (food and vet care) costs, and medical bills. I mean, it's IMPORTANT that he's happy and gets everything he wants, just not important enough for me to give a flying fuck, and I don't think I'm alone in this.

I KNOW Trump may never face prison time, but watching him flail about in a rage is its own reward.

All od these "Hail Mary" passes...

"I did the hush money payments to the porn star and playmate to protect Melania, because I'm a good husband"

"I don't care if Pence isn't going to appeal, he can't testify because I have executive privilege"

"Jack Smith is a Trump hater and so is his Trump-hating wife, so I'm innocent"

"Bragg and Willis are black and so there is only one reason why they're coming after me. They're racists, so I'm innocent"

I don't understand how he can eat such shit in his diet...McDonalds, KFC, sodium and grease...and be morbidly obese and largely sedentary and filled with rage from sunup to sundown...and not have major health issues. I HAVE REASONABLY REGULAR panic / anxiety attacks, and compared to Trump, I'm a pretty easygoing and healthy guy.

Whether he ever sees the inside of a prison cell or not, It is reassuring that he's not spending his days as the unquestionable and universal object of worship and admiration.

Trump crapping all over Easter ain't gonna win over a lot of Independents

Trump has these limited, repetitive moves that...I assume...he finds endlessly amusing and clever.

One of them is the bait-and-switch holiday tweet / post...he's done this since he was in office.

He picks a holiday when most people are taking a time-out, and opens with "Happy Easter," and then you get an all-caps paragraph of blind, unfocused rage and self-pity. I assume at the end of one of these he's beaming with pride and feeling better about himself.

I'm neither going to share nor summarize Trump's "Easter Post" in his little social media echo chamber. I think I summed it up fully above. It's out there and easy enough to find if you decide that you have to see it. It's disgusting. It's Trump.

THAT SAID..I refuse to believe that his behavior won over ONE SINGLE SWING OR INDEPENDENT VOTER.

Even with gerrymandering and voter suppression, Trump's "base"...exclusively...is NOT ENOUGH to re-elect him.

So, I have to assume this "rage theater" is all in the name of maximizing DONATION$. Money, money, money, sweet truckloads of cash driven right up to his front door by loyal MAGAts.

COME ON, Fani Willis and Jack Smith...pile ON. Let's SEE those indictments.

C'mon, seriously...who would have GUESSED that a McCarthy-led House would be a clusterf*ck?

THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS FOR KEV!

GOP dysfunction fuels Dems' hardball budget tactics

Democrats are digging in their heels on debt ceiling and budget talks amid reports that House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) is struggling to wrangle his unwieldy conference.

Why it matters: Time is running out for Congress and the White House to agree on a budget and increase the government's debt ceiling to avert a potentially catastrophic default this summer.

Driving the news: The New York Times reported on Thursday that McCarthy has expressed distrust in two of his top lieutenants in the House, Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.) and Budget Committee chair Jodey Arrington (R-Texas).

What we're hearing: The report has reassured Democrats that the Biden administration's refusal to move forward with talks before McCarthy releases a GOP budget outline is the correct approach.
