Glenn Youngkin's victory proves white ignorance is a powerful weapon

From the outset, it was clear Youngkin would need fervent support from the state’s conservative base, along with the backing of some white voters in Democratic-leaning areas like Loudoun County, to win the race.

Ultimately, his campaign settled on a game plan that seemed to resonate deeply with white voters in Virginia: targeting school lesson plans that address inequality and social justice. Youngkin adopted the conservative strategy of falsely grouping these lesson plans under the label of “critical race theory,” and he promised to ban such teachings “on day one” if elected. Critical race theory is a college-level field of study that’s not taught in Virginia K-12 schools, but it’s become a catchall phrase for intellectually lazy people — many of them white — who want to stigmatize any discussion about American racism.

In the final weeks of his campaign, Youngkin focused almost exclusively on attacking lesson plans about inequality. He hosted multiple “Parents Matter” rallies, where attendees could gather to express outrage over school curricula. And last week, his campaign released an ad featuring a white mother who fought to have “Beloved,” Toni Morrison’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel about slavery, banned from her son’s school district.

The Youngkin campaign discovered that this contingent of angry, willfully ignorant white people was the key ingredient needed to elect a GOP governor in Virginia for the first time since 2009. We can expect more Republicans to try the same gambit as we inch closer to next year’s consequential midterm elections.

Should Children Witness Childbirth?

That's a good question... Here's your answer.

Due to a power outage, only one paramedic responded to the call.

The house was very dark so the paramedic asked Kathleen, a 3-yr old girl to hold a flashlight high over her mommy so he could see while he helped deliver the baby.

Very diligently, Kathleen did as she was asked.

Heidi pushed and pushed and after a little while, Connor was born.

The paramedic lifted him by his little feet and spanked him on his bottom.

Connor began to cry.

The paramedic then thanked Kathleen for her help and asked the wide-eyed 3-yr old what she thought about what she had just witnessed.

Kathleen quickly responded: 'He shouldn't have crawled in there in the first place, smack him again!'

If you don't laugh at this one, there's no hope for you

Lawyer Michael Avenatti sentenced to 2.5 years

Michael Avenatti, the brash attorney who became a leading foe of then-President Donald Trump, was sentenced Thursday to 30 months in prison for a brazen botched scheme to extort athletic apparel giant Nike out of up to $25 million.

The attorney became a leading foe of then-President Donald Trump and Trump’s then-lawyer Michael Cohen while representing Stormy Daniels, whom Avenatti is separately charged with swindling.

Avenatti briefly flirted with seeking the Democratic nomination for president at the height of his fame.

Walmart is tempting me to steal from them

I haven't done it yet. But the temptation is getting stronger. Since our Walmart removed most of the checkout stations and replaced them with self-checkout, I feel like Walmart is forcing me to work for them. Because I'm forced to scan my own items, they're not paying wages to a checkout clerk. Even though I often used self checkout before, it pisses me off that now they're forcing me to.

If they're cutting their expenses by forcing me to scan my own groceries, why shouldn't I get some sort of compensation?

I mean, why can't I put a few smaller items in my bag without scanning them? Why shouldn't I be able to scan only three cans of tuna, when I'm buying four? What's wrong with touching the picture of cheaper apples, when the more expensive variety is on the scale.

If Walmart forces me to do their employees' work, isn't it only fair to force Walmart to give me compensation?

I've always considered myself an honest guy, but when Walmart steals my labor, I'm tempted to retaliate.

More pain for novice GameStop, AMC buyers

Both stocks tanking heavily pre market this morning following yesterday's sell off. The pump 'n dump play is now complete for the originators of this scam. They sold their positions last week, leaving millions of newbies holding the bag. It's a hard lesson for many who thought that somehow this was a "cause", and are now realizing it was a scam.
It's not everyday you get the opportunity to pay $300 for a $10 stock.
