PAHRUMP, NV (FOX5) -
Authorities in Nye County believe a deputy took prescription drugs from the sheriff's office as well as medication from a woman while responding to a call.
According to the Nye County Sheriff's Office, Sgt. Michael Horn was detained Saturday, accused of taking morphine pills from a holding room at a sheriff's station the day before.
In addition, the sheriff's office accused Horn of confiscating prescription drugs when he responded to an elderly woman's report of noise outside her home Saturday morning.
The sheriff's office said detectives learned of Horn pressing a deputy to turn prescriptions over to him rather than booking them into evidence.

Killer croc snatches 12-year-old boy swimming with pals in Australia
http://worldnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2014/01/27/22468469-killer-croc-snatches-12-year-old-boy-swimming-with-pals-in-australia?liteAustralian police are hunting a killer crocodile that they believe snatched a 12-year-old boy while he was swimming with his friends.
Police said Monday that officers have been given orders to shoot any crocodile more than eight feet long in a bid to find the boys remains. They have so far killed two of the animals but neither had anything in their stomachs.
Northern Territory Police said in a statement the boy was swimming in the Mudginberri Billabong, a creek in the Kakadu National Park, in Australias Northern Territory. They said they believe he was taken at 2:15 p.m. Saturday.
"It is believed the 12-year-old boy was taken by a crocodile as he and a number of other young boys were swimming in the billabong," Acting Commander Michael White said.
This is horrible, I hope they find his body soon so the family can lay him to rest.
Found a young Burrowing Owl at my doorstep last night, recommedations please!
Went to lock the storm door last night and on our front porch was a juvenile Burrowing Owl, it allowed me to pick it up and bring it inside.
I know that it's illegal to keep, so, what should I do with it? Release it to face it's destiny or try to find a rehabber?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
For those that have ever rescued a sparrow or starling,
here is some great info on how to feed and raise them.

My wife and I now have 4 sparrows, 3 males, 1 female and 1 female starling we rescued appox. 2 years ago, unfortunately, we couldn't release them as the imprinted on us and wouldn't have survived in the wild.
The 4 sparrows have their own room with their cages left open to come and go and the starling is in our room.
These birds really are a joy to keep, especially the sparrows, they are very smart and funny and they give us hours of joy just to be around them.
