PSA: Please don't give animals as Christmas gifts.
I know I am a day late, but I just wanted to say this. Please don't give kittens or puppies as gifts unless you know that the receiver is WILLING and ABLE to care for a pet. And regardless if they are willing and able, DO NOT spring it on them as a surprise UNLESS you know that they really, really want a furry or feathered or scaly friend.
I don't mean to come across as a Grinch, but too many furbabies end up at shelters over the holidays due to this very thing.

Source: Mediaite
Just when you think the War of Christmas was won
the Grinch rears his ugly head.
The new front opened at New Yorks La Guardia Airport, where an American Airlines crew had the audacity to decide to wish passengers a Merry Christmas on Christmas Eve. One passenger doth protest, however, and was eventually thrown off American Airlines Flight 1140 to Dallas after taking serious offense to the holiday greeting.
The situation unfolded as the unnamed passengertraveling alonewas wished a Merry Christmas as he and other passengers boarded the plane, to which the curmudgeon reportedly said angrily to one of the female attendants, You shouldnt say that because not everyone celebrates Christmas.

This is getting so old. Like one commenter said, if a simple greeting sends you into a rage, then you must have it pretty easy. Most people have real problems.

Who do you like better?
Rachel Maddow or Keith Olbermann?
I like Rachel, but I don't think that she quite has the "go for the jugular" that KO had. I also feel that she is held back a little bit by NBC higher ups.
I really, really miss the KO and his countdown format. Also, the "worst person" segment was not to be missed.
Gordon Lightfoot - The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald
I have loved this song since I first heard it few months ago....
Missouri bill would require father's permission for a woman to get an abortion
Source: Kansas City Star
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.
A bill filed this month would require pregnant women to get permission from the father before having an abortion except in cases of incest and what the Missouri Republican who sponsored the legislation called "legitimate rape."
If passed, state Rep. Rick Brattin's bill would require women to obtain notarized written permission from the father to terminate a pregnancy. The mandate would be waived for rape and incest. An identical bill by the Harrisonville lawmaker died in committee last session.
"Just like any rape, you have to report it, and you have to prove it," Brattin told Mother Jones in a statement that drew criticism from state Democrats. "So you couldn't just go and say, 'Oh yeah, I was raped,' and get an abortion. It has to be a legitimate rape."
Brattin's comments led to comparisons to former Republican U.S. Rep. Todd Akin, who said in 2012 that women's bodies have ways of not becoming pregnant from what he called "legitimate rape."

Why I miss Keith Olbermann so much.
I remember watching this epic smack-down with my jaw on the floor.
International news vs. domestic news
Which do you find more fascinating and interesting?
I personally find international news to be much more interesting than US news in most cases.
