nationalize the fed
nationalize the fed's JournalEdward Snowden on 911
You know this is a key question that the 9/11 commission considered, and what they found in the postmortem when they looked at all the classified intelligence from all the different intelligence agencies, they found that we had all of the information we needed as an intelligence community, as a classified sector, as the national defense of the United States, to detect this plot, Snowden said.
We actually had records of the phone calls from the United States and out. The CIA knew who these guys were. The problem was not that we werent collecting information, it wasnt that we didnt have enough dots, it wasnt that we didnt have a haystack, it was that we did not understand the haystack that we had.
If were missing things like the Boston Marathon bombings where all of these mass-surveillance systems, every domestic dragnet in the world, didnt reveal guys that the Russian intelligence service told us about by name, is that really the best way to protect our country or are we trying to throw money at a magic solution thats actually not just costing us our safety, but our rights and our way of life, Snowden said.
The Snowden Interview- a segment you didn't see
Snowdens comments surrounding the failure of dragnet surveillance in stopping the 9/11 attacks were censored from the prime time broadcast and instead buried in an hour long clip on NBCs website.
NBCs decision to bury Snowdens comments is unsurprising given the fact that the 9/11 attacks are exhaustively used by the federal government as the prime justification for surveilling millions of innocent Americans. Snowden remarked on the governments prior knowledge of the accused Boston bombers as well, also cut from the prime time interview.

Green hydrogen facility opens at Berlin airport, with first refueling of fuel cell vehicle
(edit: Not the Berlin airport facility, just a picture of panels at Neuhardenberg solar park- latitude 52 degrees North)
The first fuel cell electric vehicle has been refueled at the Green Hydrogen Hub (H2BER) of the Total multi-energy fueling station at the new Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) under construction in Germany, using hydrogen produced onsite via electrolysis using wind and solar energy.
In addition to refueling fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs), the H2BER project also anticipates operation of a combined heat and power (CHP) plant with regeneratively produced hydrogen, and its supply into the public gas network. It thus offers an opportunity to conduct research into the 'energy transition'n as a single system...
Edit: Add picture- maybe that will help people visualize the fueling of hydrogen cars. It's a difficult concept, isn't it
The Parliamentary Secretary of State to the Federal Transport Minister, Katherina Reiche, refuels a fuel cell electric vehicle for the first time at the Green Hydrogen Hub (H2BER) of the Total multi-energy fueling station at Berlin Brandenburg Airport.
...H2BERs operating principle is based on applying hydrogen as an energy source produced using wind power and solar energy. Initially the electricity required will be provided by a nearby wind park. Hydrogen production at high wind speeds will also be tested and observed by scientists in a dedicated research campus.
Total is operating two hydrogen fueling pumps at the site, one for cars and one for buses, as well as offering natural gas (CNG) and LPG fueling, and even charging points for battery electric vehicles. The company is also integrating a rooftop solar installation, developed by its photovoltaic subsidiary SunPower...more

Toyota wants you to meet an 'obsessed' hydrogen fuel cell engineer
Danny King May 8th 2014 green.autoblog.com
Like a television-broadcasting company covering the Olympics, Toyota is looking to market its future in hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle production by taking the personal approach. In this case, the Japanese automaker is telling the backstory of Jackie Birdsall, an engineer at Toyota Technical Center who Toyota says is "obsessed" with fuel-cell technology
Talkin' 'Bout a Revolution
And now, as an engineer at Toyota Technical Center, Birdsall is "obsessed" with bringing fuel cell technology to the masses. But perhaps you need to be obsessed when you're trying to change the world. After all, revolutions don't blossom from complacency...
"So I can work on a car that has zero emission, that uses fuel you can make from any domestic resource, fills up in a matter of minutes and can completely replace the internal combustion vehicle?" She says. "I became obsessed."
There's that word.
"Right now, I have the best job in the world for me," she says. "I'm going to lose my mind when the first vehicle rolls off the production line. To be talking about a full commercial launch, that's pretty much the biggest victory I can have in my life."...

Perhaps many people here know more about Hydrogen and cars than this top Toyota fuel cell engineer does. I doubt it though.

The Tesla Model S: The finest coal-powered car money can buy
Summary: Web cartoonist Matthew Inman loves his Tesla. But like many proud EV owners and proponents, does he even realize his "Magical Space Car" runs on fossil fuels?
Jason Perlow for Tech Broiler May 15, 2014
"...However, what I think has been lost in all this positivism and blind futurism about EVs and Tesla is how unrealistic electric cars still are for the average family.
Not only that, but they do not fundamentally solve the problems of moving to more sustainable energy sources; nor are they particularly "greener" or less fossil-powered than their gasoline, diesel, or even hybrid cousins...
Projected electricity generation by fuel, 1990-2040 (in trillions of kilowatt-hours). Source: United States Energy Information Administration, May 2014
...Say what, you ask? I'm no stranger to EVs. I've written about and driven Chevy's Volt, and I've also written about the current flaws in EV technology and why your average family isn't seeking to replace their gasoline and hybrid cars with Chevy Volts, Nissan Leafs, or the even a $70,000 Tesla Model S anytime soon...
...But we need to stop dreaming about Magical Space Cars and spend more time actually working on getting ourselves out of this economic and environmental quagmire that is fossil fuels... ---more-

Proof that "Weather Modification" Conspiracists are wackjobs
Operation Popeye
The operation seeded clouds with both silver iodide and lead iodide (Lead iodide is toxic due to its lead content), resulting in the targeted areas seeing an extension of the monsoon period an average of 30 to 45 days. As the continuous rainfall slowed down the truck traffic, it was considered relatively successful. However, resultant rain and subsequent flooding of the nearby Song Con River is sometimes blamed for the move of POWs from the prison camp at Son Tay and therefore, the failure of Operation Ivory Coast.
The former U.S. Secretary of Defense, Robert S. McNamara, was aware that there might be objections raised by the international scientific community but said in a memo to the president that such objections had not in the past been a basis for prevention of military activities considered to be in the interests of U.S. national security.
The chemical weather modification program was conducted from Thailand over Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam and allegedly sponsored by Secretary of State Henry Kissinger and CIA without the authorization of then Secretary of Defense Melvin Laird who had categorically denied to Congress that a program for modification of the weather for use as a tactical weapon even existed.

Siemens plans electrolyzer system to store wind power as hydrogen.
Siemens plans electrolyzer system to store wind power as hydrogen.05/16/2014 By Editors of Electric Light & Power/ POWERGRID International
In the German city of Mainz, Siemens, together with the public utilities of Mainz, Linde and the RheinMain University of Applied Sciences, has laid the foundation stone for a new type of energy storage system.
From spring 2015, the system, equipped with an electrolyzer from Siemens, will convert surplus electricity from wind farms to hydrogen. The hydrogen will then be stored locally in tankers or fed directly into the natural gas grid for subsequent power or heat generation.
In this way, it will be possible to store electricity from renewable sources over longer periods of time. The tankers will also be able to supply the growing network of hydrogen filling stations for emission-free fuel-cell vehicles....
