Reter's JournalHypothetical: It's Trump vs. Sanders vs. Bloomberg
It's Election Day 2016, and CNN and NBC have just called it. Trump is currently at 38%, and Sanders appears to have slightly edged him out with 39%. What people will be talking about for years to come is that Bloomberg took a highly respectable 23% of the vote, the most in by an Independent in over 100 years, and winning 2 states, NY and NJ. Republicans also retained the House and Senate, losing a few seats though.
However, the real blockbuster story of the night is that Bernie won 265 Electoral Votes, Trump 230, and Bloomberg 43, preventing anyone from getting the magical 270 needed to win.
Flash forward to January. The election goes into the House to decide. The do not vote in any of the top three. Instead they choose...Jeb Bush.
That bastard will find a way to sneak in anyway. I can totally see something like this happening. The Majority in the House would never support Trump in this situation. And there would be nothing we could do to stop this, such as suing to prevent it from happening. The establishment wins again, electing their own king.
Admit it, having Trump as House Speaker would be a ton of laughs
Why, you ask? The State of the Union of course! Just think about those faces he would make when Obama says something he disagrees with! No way would he be the statue that was there last week called Paul Ryan!
Martin O'Malley needs to drop out now and endorse Bernie Sanders
Apologies to the O'Malley fans, but to be blunt he can't win period. The latest CBS/NY Times national poll was Clinton 48, Sanders 41, and O'Malley 2. Nearly all his votes would go to Sanders, which is desperately needed in such a tight race.
Then there's the debates. Bernie's message would be much better projected if it were just one-on-one with Hillary. O'Malley seems to go after Bernie a lot more than Hillary in the debates.
Please, Martin O'Malley. Do the right thing and endorse Sanders!
Paul Ryan on Donald Trump: ‘This Is Not Conservatism’
Source: NY Times
Speaker Paul D. Ryan condemned on Tuesday the proposal by Donald J. Trump that Muslims be barred from entering the country, saying it is not what this party stands for.
Offering a markedly stern reproach for Mr. Trump, who leads most polls of the Republican presidential field, Mr. Ryan said he had opposed including religion requirements in a recent bill to tighten refugee admittance restrictions because freedom of religion is a founding principle of this country.
This is not conservatism, he said at the House Republican leaderships weekly news conference. What was proposed yesterday is not what this party stands for and, more importantly, its not what this country stands for.
Mr. Ryan has made it a policy not to comment on the presidential race, making his comments on Mr. Trump an exception, as he prefaced it Tuesday all the more striking. He said that in addition to having Muslim members of the armed forces and in Congress, there were many Muslims fighting terrorism alongside the United States.

Gotta give him some credit on this one, he was spot on here.
When are more candidates going to drop out?
The last one to drop out was Jindal. But there are so many more who are just clouding the debates. Pataki, Graham, Santorm, Christie, Kasich, and Huckabee need to realise it's a lost cause. I get why Bush isn't dropping out, because the establishment keeps telling him he'll go up in the polls and win. But the others? Come on.
And we're not perfect in this either. O'Malley has zero chance of winning, and is only hurting Bernie in close states like NH. So when do you think we'll see some more candidates drop out? Or are some waiting for the first primaries?
Paul Ryan Grows Beard, Is Very Proud Of It
Source: GQ
Paul Ryan wants to be more than just Speaker of the House of Representatives. He wants to be a cool Speaker of the House of Representatives, and he's going pretty far to prove it to you. Yesterday, one month into his new gig, the republican speaker posted a picture of himself to Instagram with the following caption.
"Waiting on confirmation from the House Historian, but apparently, Im the first Speaker to sport a beard in about 100 years."

I wish more people in politics would have facial hair. The whole clean-shaven look for politicians has to go. First in 100 years is crazy.
Ted Cruz Challenges President Obama to 'Come Back and Insult Me to My Face'
Source: ABC News
A fired-up Sen. Ted Cruz this morning challenged President Obama to a debate over Syrian refugees, lashing out at Obama over his Tuesday comments in the Philippines.
"I want to encourage you, Mr. President, come back and insult me to my face," Cruz said today. "Lets have a debate on Syrian refugees right now. We can do it anywhere you want. I prefer it in the United States and not overseas where youre making insults. Its easy to toss a cheap insult when no one can respond, but lets have a debate.
"I got to tell you, it is utterly unbefitting of the president to be engaging in those kind of personal insults and attacks," he continued.
The Texas Republican and presidential candidate appeared outside the Capitol Hill Club with recent supporter Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, who also called Obama's comments "more than a little rich."

Is this a thinly veiled threat by Cruz?
How come no one thinks singer Jeff Buckley's 1997 drowning is suspicious?
How many people do you know who swim in the Mississippi River with all of their clothes on? Perhaps someone high as a kite or drunk off their face, but the autopsy said there were no drugs or alcohol in his body. I find it highly suspicious.
Charges possible after driver seen on video swerving into motorcycle
Source: CBS
GRANBURY, Texas -- A driver seen on video swerving into a motorcycle, sending its driver and passenger tumbling onto the pavement, may face charges in the crash, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The video recorded Saturday by another motorcyclist, and which has more than two million views on Facebook, shows rider Eric Sanders crossing double yellow lines in an apparent effort to pass a car on Texas's Tin Top Highway.
The car can then be seen sideswiping Sanders' bike, on which Sanders' girlfriend was also riding.
Two were sent tumbling along the pavement and to the side of the road.

This is disgusting. As a rider, I see hatred on the road all the time for motorcyclists.
Hillary reiterated her support of the Patriot Act, the NSA, and wants to put Snowden in jail
She is awful on 4th Amendment issues. I can't believe that she still has support here.
