One person's dead kids are another person's minor distraction.
Are the ammosexuals pushing for guns here in General Discussion lately purposely trying to push voters away from the Democratic Party when they headline their views on the value of the lives of our children like this?

Really, you don't make friends by minimizing the value of the lives of our loved ones.
You just don't.
Are we not allowed to call Zimmerman a murderer here on DU?
I got my posts hidden twice for referring to Zimmerman's gunstalking and killing of Trayvon Martin as a Murder.
It seems that Zimmerman supporters here want me to call it a self-defense, so that their delicate fee-fees don't get hurt when they openly support Zimmerman in his murder of Trayvon Martin.
I'm sorry if it hurts the fee-fees of the delicate flowers on DU who support Zimmerman, but what Zimmerman supporters support is murder, not self defense.
And if I am banned from DU entirely for calling it murder, then so be it.
I stand behind my words.
Zimmerman is a murderer, and those here who support him here on DU and elsewhere are supporters of murder.

call out to a DU member saying he supports murder when he clearly does not and has told this poster many times in multiple threads to stop with the lies. The poster continues to defame this DU member.

Juror #3 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: telling someone that they support murder is over the line
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Given the diary, and the statement about 'standing by his vote' (that Zimmerman did not murder Trayvon Martin'), and my belief that Zimmerman did, in fact, 'get away with murder', I can only take this as a factual statement, not a lie. In this specific instance, the DU member supported a murderer. As such, this is not a lie, and I see no reason to hide it.
Juror #6 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Disruptive and inappropriate personal attack.
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE

Would Zimmerman still get 48% DU support for murder if his name were in the title?
Recently, there was a poll of DUers regarding Zimmerman's murder.
In it, 48% of all DUers who responded supported by plurality all 3 of the following clauses:
(1) Zimmerman broke no laws.
(2) Zimmerman acted reasonably.
(3) Florida laws relating to any of his actions need no changes
Zimmermann broke no current laws, acted reasonably and Florida laws relating to any of his actions need no changes
15 (48%)

But while Zimmerman got a lot of support for his murder in that DU poll, his name was left out of the title, which may have skewed the poll results somewhat, creating a false and misleading impression of what DU is all about.
So, I'll put the the question before the wider DU community:
Remember, to answer "yes" you need to agree with all 3 of the above clauses of support, not just 1 or 2 of them.
Do you support Zimmerman?
Can we pease stop advocating murder in the gungeon?
This is disgusting.

We don't need more dead bodies.
We are telling people to murder anybody who assaults them in any way, and using DU as the platform for doing so.
I've been assaulted many times in my life.
If I followed the advice given in that OP, there'd be lots of dead people around, including dead cops who have assaulted me.
SCLC Suspends Pastor Who Called For Black Families To Arm Themselves Against Police(Religion x-post)
crossposted from Religion: http://www.democraticunderground.com/1218191382
Breitbart News is reporting that Georgia Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) President Sam Mosteller has been suspended from the organization following his call for Black families to exercise their Second Amendment rights by arming themselves against police. In his statement, Mosteller acknowledged that his suggestion went against the SCLC mission of nonviolence, but he felt compelled to tell Black people to protect themselves because no one else is.
During his comments, Mosteller stated, We going to have to do something in our community to let the rest of America know that we are not going to be victimized by just anybody whether it be police or folks that decide that Black people are thugs and we need to control that Black community. We [are] not going to allow that anymore.
The national SCLC office released this statement regarding Mostellars comments:
The Southern Christian Leadership Conference was founded and maintains its [sic] position against violence of ANY type. We are founded on the bedrock of nonviolence and we encourage those principles as we seek social justice and social change in American society and around the world.
Although our organization does concur that the justice system in America has too often failed communities of color, particularly black youth, in reviewing the comments made by the Rev. Mosteller on Wednesday, March 31, we have found that his comments do not represent, nor reflect the principles and position of this organization.
SCLC has said that they are conducting an internal investigation while Mosteller is under an indefinite suspension. In addition, the organization is also demanding that Mosteller complete some internal training.

The Reverend may be confusing the Second Commandment with the Second Amendment. Seems like he's praying to the wrong God.
