A Brief History Of Drag Queen Story Hour.
Right-wing attempts to demonize drag storytime (and all who love it) are deeply mischaracterizing the events.
As long as there have been books for children, there have been adults trying to get children to read books.
One good way to do that is to read to them. And one good way to hold their attention is to dress with pizazz.
The rise of drag queen storytime can be traced back to the San Francisco Bay Area long a haven for queer folk where a Market Street bookstore hosted what it billed as Americas first drag queen storytime a decade ago. It looked a lot like the drag story hours held around the country today, and completely unlike the fantastical, sexualized vision pushed by the political right: just a colorful queen in a sky-high hat reading to a bunch of kids.

I just got my twitter account reinstated after slut shaming melania.
And then quickly deactivated it. Apparently, you can't deactivate your account unless it's active. Buhbye.

Hormone therapy improves mental health for transgender youths, a new study finds.
Transgender youths reported more life satisfaction and fewer symptoms of depression and anxiety after receiving gender-affirming hormone therapy for two years, according to a new study.
The research, published Wednesday in the New England Journal of Medicine, evaluated 315 transgender youths between 12 to 20 years old, with an average age of 16, over the course of two years while they were being treated with gender-affirming hormone therapy.
The researchers are a group of physicians and professors associated with universities and childrens hospitals in Chicago, Boston and Los Angeles. The study was supported by a grant from the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development.
The researchers used scales that measured depression and anxiety, positive emotions and sense of life satisfaction, and appearance congruence meaning how much a trans person feels their external appearance aligns with their gender identity. Participants rated each of these factors numerically.
