Lunabell's JournalMy condolences to anyone who was hurt by the hurricane.
Luckily, we were on the west side of the storm as it made landfall. The lights went out for a bit and we have a little wind damage. But, we are all fine.
Sending positive vibes to those affected and those still in its path.
Proof that Democrats eat babies for youth and vitality!!

D.L. Hughley Says Janet Jackson Had Malicious Intent In Questioning Kamala's Race.
D.L. Hughley says Janet Jackson knows good and well what she's doing by questioning Kamala Harris' race ... and he thinks Janet wants to hurt the Veep.
The comedian tells TMZ ... Janet repeating a claim about Harris that is so easily proven false shows there is malicious intent behind the public smear.
D.L. says Janet is peddling far right lies ... and he thinks it's ironic she's falsely claiming Harris' father is white when there are questions about the Jackson family actually wanting to be white themselves.
For D.L., Janet's trying to be white with her surgically altered nose ... and he thinks this whole racial commentary coming from the singer is rich.
Oh, snap!

If anyone is still undecided after this debate,
they need to call their doctor because something is seriously wrong with them. The orange blobfather was totally deranged, spewing lies and just name calling instead of actually debating policy. He was practically foaming at the mouth. Can we get him checked for rabies?
Hello DU and a much needed and good update and thank you!
Hyundai FINALLY approved my new engine after it was the ball bearings that failed. The 100,000 mile warranty covers it. Phew!
I am here again to thank all of y'all who, once again, helped bail us out of our financial situation a few weeks back. I am back to work in my rental car, which I can afford now that I am back to work full-time. Our bills are getting paid. Our pets and feral cat colony are getting fed. Our refrigerator is stocked. I am so grateful for this feeling of security.
As soon as we are financially stable, we are definitely going to pay it forward. My first donation will be to the Harris/Walz campaign. We really need a yard sign.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
I really hope this will be the last time we ask for help.

Update:
I finally was able to rent a car. The car was towed to Hyundai and seemingly covered by warranty. The service lady said it takes at least 72 hours for Hyundai to make the decision on a new engine. 🤞 After that, they have to order the engine and then it may take up to 2 weeks to install the new engine.
Although I am back to work, my paychecks have not caught up and I need to rent the car for one more week until my check is in, Friday September 5, 2024. Luckily, I have bounce protection and was able to rent the car again, but my account is in the red for $193.00. Eldercare services in Gadsden county will help pay the utilities and there is a church with a Second Harvest food distribution twice a week. And our mortgage is in loss mitigation and HUD has a program to keep us from foreclosure. Thank you for this help! Otherwise, we'd be out on the streets.
I am again embarrassed to ask for help, but I have to. I am working my regular hours but as I said, the paycheck has not caught up and they don't offer any way of early pay. I took out a payday loan. OMG, that costs a lot! Being a senior and having a disabled spouse in this situation is really scary. Thank you for any support.

OMG! I'm having to tussle between the warranty company and Hyundai about who is responsible for fixing my car!!
Neither is admitting their responsibility about my engine. This is getting ridiculous! In the mean time, I am renting a car that I can't afford. Finally, I am able to return to work, but we are in the negative for everything. Thanks if you can help.

I've got to give a big shout out to Hillary Clinton!!
What an amazing, gracious woman. She is a true and genuine Democrat and Patriot. She has zero sour grapes about Kamala Harris being the first female president of the United States, an honor that was stolen from her in 2016. Big hugs to the marvelous, Sec. Clinton!! You are an inspiration.
World Bank halts paid advertising on X after CBS News finds its promoted ad under racist content.
Source: CBS News
The World Bank has ceased all paid advertising on Elon Musk's social media platform X, which was formerly Twitter, after a CBS News investigation found promoted advertisements from the organization showing up under a racist post from an account that prolifically posts pro-Nazi and white nationalist content.
CBS News found a verified X account with more than 115,000 followers that had posted a racist image alongside a post praising Europe's colonization of Africa. CBS News is not publicly identifying the accounts spreading racist content on X.

Wah! Wah! Wah! You gonna cry about this, too, musky? Nobody likes you and your cars suck.
My wife and I need g m help.
I haven't been able to work in almost 3 weeks. Luckily, they have been very understanding.
Remember this gently used car many on DU helped me to get the down-payment?

The engine died while I was driving home from work and I am humbly asking for some help again. This is so embarrassing for me, but here goes:
Wow, the worst year ever. I don't know if you know about what happened last year, but things really went downhill after one of my patients passed away unexpectedly. (Natural causes, not the fault of any nurses. We were totally exonerated.) But, things (money things, thank goodness our health was good.) piled up and the icing on the cake was my Kia Soul also passed away. Many people generously helped us get the funds needed for a down-payment for this used car.
Well, I am sorry to report that the engine in my gorgeous gently used new car went kaphlooey. It was during the Hurricane Debby as I was driving home. I got a lyft home, but because we were in a state of emergency, they towed it off of the interstate almost immediately.
After getting it out of impound ($300.00) I had it towed to the preferred repair shop of the warranty company. Apparently, it is still under Hyundai warranty, I called Hyundai and scheduled an appointment. It is not until Aug. 27th. And it may take up to two weeks to get it repaired. The warranty company does not pay for towing or rides. They reimburse at a small rate.
Meanwhile, not having a credit card, I am unable to rent a car. Well, I did through priceline, but did not read the fine print (my fault) about the $400.00 deposit required. I went to get the car, but did not have enough on my debit card to cover the deposit. So, I lost the $313.92 that I paid out. No refunds. That hurt us badly. 😢
I am having to rely on friends or hire a car to get to work and back. It's hard to find a friend to wake up and take me at 6:00 am. So, it's been uber or lyft. ($60.00 each way)I have missed most of my shifts because of this.
I hate to even do this again. To ask for donation. It's embarrassing, but we are just hanging on and I am out of options. We once again had to get a forbearance on our mortgage. We missed the deadline for eldercare services to help pay the utility bill. The groceries are dwindling and we don't even have a vehicle to go to the local food bank. I have rescue pups and cats to feed.
I am a 62, almost 63 year old nurse. I am employed, but can't get reliably to work and am afraid I will be fired. My wife is a veteran and disabled. We have a house full of rescued pets and trap/neuter/release feral cats that rely on us. This is so hard for me to ask, but please consider a donation.
Thank you, Lara and Kat
K&R please. And will you please share on your social media? And send prayers or realky positive vibes that our situation improves.
Thanks! Lara
