Rocks and Clouds

I know this is a "photography" forum (Perhaps there can be an off-topic video forum?), but since this video was not done as part of my ecology surveys and was more focused on the beauty of the circumstance, I thought I'd post it here rather than in Environment & Energy:

Vaquita

Do you know what a Vaquita is? Did you know its the rarest of the Harbor Porpoises? Did you know that there are less than 100 individuals left? Did you know that their rarity has been caused by the damming of the Colorado River and illegal gill-net-fishing for the endangered totoaba bass?

They are endemic to the Delta region in the northern Sea of Cortez where the Colorado River (used to) empty into the Sea of Cortez.

Despite designation of a new Biosphere Reserve, Vaquita continue to be drowned in gill nets set by desperate local fishermen hoping to catch yet another endangered species, the totoaba?

Yeah, the argument over which democratic candidate matters in the short-term, but, as they say, extinction is forever.

New Category

One would think that all DU cares about is politics. How about an "Ecology & Environmental Activism" category?

Why? "Environment & Energy" is way too broad. Environment/Ecology/Environmental Activism is a subject all it's own, even if related to "Energy".

Please vote/ask for a new category: Environmental Activism & Ecology.

Or, at the very least, to separate "Environment" from "Energy" in the forums...

My response to Fox/Trump interview

Pro war, pro misogyny, pro racism, pro white-only, pro violence, anti-clean air, anti-clean water, anti-environment, anti-education, anti-space exploration, anti-living wage, anti-choice, anti-diversity, and anti-freedom, anti-community ...

The GOP candidates are special brand of "adults" awe-struck with the perceived power of grade school spit-fights with each other and are the ones who making a mockery of the U.S.A. So far the GOP "ideology" has left Michigan, Kansas, Louisiana and Congress a disaster zone. Who's next under the GOP "leadership"? I think they must have drank too much tea.... (Haha, get it?)

Who wants the GOP to run the U.S.A.? Not me or the majority of reality-based U.S. citizens. Trump, Cruz, Rubio? All idiots pandering to the middle and lower class (talking about in-equality, while denying living wages for example) while giving BJ's (and tax breaks) to Corporate America and the Military-Industrial Complex. As if those greedy, faceless entities actually had penises and a need for tax relief... (Haha, get it?)

“What's more American than violence?" Hayduke wanted to know. "Violence, it's as American as pizza pie.”
― Edward Abbey, The Monkey Wrench Gang

"Anarchism is founded on the observation that since few men are wise enough to rule themselves, even fewer are wise enough to rule others."
