After DSouza Mocks Students, Business Group Cancels His Speech

Reprinted with permission from MediaMatters.

The Fulshear Area Chamber of Commerce in Texas has canceled its event with conservative author and pundit Dinesh D’Souza after he mocked the student survivors of the Parkland, FL, school shooting.

An organizer for the event confirmed to Media Matters in an email today that the event has been canceled.

The event, titled “Dinesh D’Souza – The Case for Capitalism,” was scheduled for February 23 and was sponsored by local groups and financial institutions like NewFirst National Bank and First Financial Bank (a cache of the event page, which has been taken down, is available here).

Student survivors of the February 14 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School have been speaking out against gun violence, calling for new gun laws, and organizing rallies. Right-wing media personalities, however, have smeared the students with attacks and conspiracy theories.

But Nevada doesn't have to worry their Congressional U.S Senator and their State Attorney General had a meet a greet...............never mind about the 49 killed in Las Vegas,or the 489 wounded.........................and this "guy" is all about capitalism..........................I just wonder if he thinks that American(s) have spent upwards of 229 billion in health care cost pertaining to gun violence, is his idea of "free market capitalism" --------------jerk.......................

Virginia Senate Republicans just torpedoed the states Medicaid expansion

Source: Think Progress

Just four months ago, Virginia’s gubernatorial race saw historic voter turnout — as casting ballots at the time meant extending Medicaid coverage to 400,000 people. On Thursday, voting paid off.

Virginia is currently one of 18 states that has not expanded Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) despite a majority of residents’ support. But the state is inching closer to expanding Medicaid insurance: The Republican-controlled House on Thursday overwhelming voted for Medicaid expansion, in a 69-to-31 vote. Notably, 20 Republicans signed onto Medicaid expansion, after rejecting it for years:

But just down the hall, the Senate torpedoed efforts to expand Medicaid, at least for now. The Senate GOP rejected an effort to add the House’s Medicaid expansion plan to its budget, in a 21-to-19 vote.

Melanias Parents Just Got Green Cards, and Theyre Being Super Shady About the Process

A person comes to the United States under the pretense of being a temporary visitor. That person travels using a travel visa under which the person is prohibited from working while in our country. That person flouts the rules and works during the time here anyway. Later, that person gets a green card and eventually becomes an American citizen. When the press discovers the inconsistencies in the person’s proclaimed immigration history, the person is evasive, and threatens the press rather than clarifies the history. Eventually, that person uses citizenship to obtain green cards for other family members, all while continuing to be secretive about the manner by which it was accomplished.

This may be the story of the Knavs family — Melania Trump (née Melania Knavs) and her parents, Viktor and Amalija Knavs. Through an attorney, the Knavses confirmed that they recently received lawful permanent resident cards – but when asked how they qualified for those green cards, their lawyer flatly refused to provide any details. Details here are conspicuously absent, a characteristic that seems to pervade Melania Trump’s narrative when it comes to immigration.

Let’s recap the whole FLOTUS-immigration issue:

Seb Gorka Shoves, Curses Out Mediaite Reporter He Once Challenged to a Duel: F*ck Off

Mediaite‘s Caleb Ecarma is reporting from CPAC today, where he had a contentious exchange with former White House staffer and fugitive of Hungarian justice Sebastian Gorka.

Ecarma is covering the Conservative Political Action Conference, and he caught up with Gorka shortly before his panel event on the strength of the Republican party going into 2018. As for how the conversation went, well…take a look.

NRA head lashes out at gun control advocates: 'They hate individual freedom'

Wayne LaPierre, the head of the NRA, broke his silence a week after the Florida school shooting with an unrepentant defence of gun rights and an aggressive attack on political elites who “hate individual freedom”.

LaPierre used his address to the conservative conference CPAC to hit out at anti-gun campaigners, who, led by young survivors of the shooting, have attempted to make political headway in the last week.

“They fantasize about more laws stopping what other laws have failed to stop,” the National Rifle Association executive vice-president said. “So many existing laws were ignored.”

He added: “They don’t care if their laws work or not. They just want to get more laws to get more control over people. But the NRA, the NRA does care.”

Hey asshole, this country was founded on the individual collective for all, not by a minority, but by a majority, you are in the minority.
And has for smearing---------------your a enabler of Russian money.............you have blood on your hands here and over in Russia, when a fucking psychopathic asshole has agents throwing people out of buildings and poisoning human beings, that don't agree with his fucking little man policies, just like the fucking orange hair asshole using a cheat sheet to remind himself to have empathy....................

Marco Rubio almost got away with his routine. Then he met Cameron Kasky

Marco Rubio is a very talented politician. He walked into an arena full of 7,000 Floridians who were determined to heckle him for siding with the National Rifle Association (NRA) for his entire career.

But within minutes of talking, he earned some respect. He didn’t stop the heckling, but he did his very best impression of a sincere man who honestly wanted to keep children safe, if only there weren’t so many complications to this whole lawmaking thing.

There are apparently lots of guns, and lots of loopholes. How on earth can a little law tackle such a big problem?

He offered up some token concessions that would do not very much at all to stop the massacres: raising the age you could buy an assault weapon, but not banning them. Better background checks, but not universal ones. Stopping the sale of bump stocks, which played no part in the bloodshed at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas high school.

Rubios Nemesis......Cameron Kasky
