LONDON (AP) Facebook says none of the 200 or so people who watched live video of the New Zealand mosque shooting flagged it to moderators, underlining the challenge tech companies face in policing violent or disturbing content in real time.
The social media giant released new details about its response to the video in a blog post. It said the gunmans live 17-minute broadcast was viewed fewer than 200 times and the first user report didnt come in until 12 minutes after it ended. Fifty people were killed at two mosques in Christchurch.
Facebook removed the video within minutes of being notified by police, said Chris Sonderby, Facebooks deputy general counsel.
No users reported the video during the live broadcast, and it was watched about 4,000 times in total before being taken down, Sonderby said. We continue to work around the clock to prevent this content from appearing on our site, using a combination of technology and people.

In Brexit chaos, UK eurosceptics see dream ticket: new leader, new deal

LONDON (Reuters) - In a week when Brexit was plunged into deeper uncertainty, eurosceptics in Theresa Mays Conservative Party are eyeing their dream scenario - a new prime minister and a new deal to leave the European Union.
After parliaments speaker made it even harder for May to get her EU divorce agreement approved by reluctant lawmakers, some pro-Brexit Conservatives have embraced the possibility of a delay, hailing it as a chance to reset talks under a new leader.
It is a risky strategy - a weakened May has been calling members of the so-called European Research Group of eurosceptic lawmakers to warn them that without her deal, they risk losing Brexit to pro-EU lawmakers in the parliament.
And by no means all eurosceptics will back their calls - others fear a long extension could risk Brexit and further destabilize a deeply divided and increasingly angry Britain, which voted 52-48 percent to leave the EU in the 2016 referendum.

NC Board Of Elections Concludes 9th District Election 'Corrupted,' 'Tainted'
Source: Talking Points Memo
By Kate Riga
March 13, 2019 10:09 am
The North Carolina Board of Elections filed an order Wednesday concluding that the congressional election in the 9th District was corrupted by fraud, improprieties, and irregularities so pervasive that its results are tainted as the fruit of an operation manifestly unfair to the voters and corrosive to our system of representative government.
A new election is necessary not only in the congressional contest, but also in two local contests caught in the long shadow of uncertainty caused by absentee ballot fraud funded principally by the Mark Harris for Congress Committee, the order continues.
The board had harsh words specifically for the campaign of Republican Mark Harris.
The Harris Committee failed to comply fully with the lawful subpoenas by this Board, and that such non-compliance contributes to cumulative doubt cast on the congressional election, they wrote.

Theresa May confirms she will vote to block no-deal Brexit
Source: The Guardian
Theresa May has confirmed that she will vote to block a no-deal Brexit, as she faced renewed pressure from Jeremy Corbyn to abandon her dead departure plan and instead embrace Labours customs union alternative.
On yet another fast-moving day, the chancellor, Philip Hammond, used his spring statement to the Commons effectively to call for a new, cross-party plan to deliver Brexit.
After issuing repeated warnings about the economic risks of no-deal, Hammond said that if this was ruled out, there would be the opportunity to start to map out a way forward towards building a consensus across this house for a deal we can, collectively support, to exit the EU in an orderly way.
Immediately beforehand, at prime ministers questions, where May again struggled with her voice and kept her answers brief, the Labour leader began by urging her to back Wednesday evenings motion seeking to rule out no deal after her plan was rejected for a second time.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said on Wednesday the House of Representatives will not consider a Republican bill to amend a federal national emergencies law after President Donald Trump used the declaration in a bid to get money for his long-promised border wall.
Republican Senators are proposing new legislation to allow the President to violate the Constitution just this once in order to give themselves cover.
The House will not take up this legislation to give President Trump a pass, the Democratic leader said in a statement. The House will not take up this legislation to give President Trump a pass.

Trump gets viciously mocked for complaining airliners have become 'far too complex to fly'
David Badash, The New Civil Rights Movement
12 Mar 2019 at 13:22 ET
President Donald Trump decided to weigh in on the sad news that a Boeing airplane crashed just minutes after takeoff, killing all 157 people aboard. Rather than lament the loss of life, he decided to attack the manufacturer and airplanes in general, wishing for the good old days perhaps of prop planes?
Trump is not a licensed pilot, and theres no indication his tweet came from any particular vat of knowledge, aside, of course, from his having owned an airline that never made a profit despite his disparaging, without facts, other airlines.
Trump, for those who dont remember, for a short three year period owned the Trump Shuttle, which Trump was forced to give up control over.
Airplanes are becoming far too complex to fly, Trump tweeted. Pilots are no longer needed, but rather computer scientists from MIT. I see it all the time in many products. Always seeking to go one unnecessary step further, when often old and simpler is far better. Split second decisions are needed, and the complexity creates danger, he added. All of this for great cost yet very little gain. I dont know about you, but I dont want Albert Einstein to be my pilot. I want great flying professionals that are allowed to easily and quickly take control of a plane!

AS a person that has flown gliders and has spent most of life as a Mechanic or Technician on the flight line..................this orange hair clown has just shown that he lacks any moral aptitude to show any empathy.
This dumb motherfucker doesn't not realize, that pilots, flight Attendants, mechanics, Air Traffic Control and other people associated with air travel and the the FAA working with the certification of the plane that is manufactured in this country has no fucking clue what goes on in the process and all he wants to do is inject his narcissistic malignant psychopathic BS out into the public square.
Just to get in the right seat you have to have 1,500 hours of flight and simulator time, and as for a Mechanic you have to have 1,920 hours of approved training to get a FAA license.
Then you have to pass a three test's to get a license to just be around the plane, and then you have to do an oral and practical officiated by the FAA, then to operate and work on it, and then when you get a job, you have to go school, by the company or the manufacture to be able to signed off that log book so you can work on that plane.
And then he has no fucking clue what it takes to certify that plane just to taxi out unto the runway, and the stress test that is performed on the wing or the engine and "all of the LRU (Line Replaceable Unit's) functions associated with the integration of the flight controls and the computer models associated to the simulators and actual flying .................................and fucking zippy with the orange clown hair looks at this through the eyes of fucking money...........................
All of this for great cost yet very little gain. I dont know about you, but I dont want Albert Einstein to be my pilot. I want great flying professionals that are allowed to easily and quickly take control of a plane!

Court allows Ohio law blocking Planned Parenthood funding

Jonathan Stempel
(Reuters) - A divided federal appeals court on Tuesday upheld the constitutionality of an Ohio law that blocks state funding for Planned Parenthood, reversing its own prior ruling and handing a victory to anti-abortion advocates.
In an 11-6 vote, the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati rejected the argument by Planned Parenthood affiliates that the funding ban, which also covered non-abortion services, violated their due process rights.
The affiliates are correct that the Ohio law imposes a condition on the continued receipt of state funds, Circuit Judge Jeffrey Sutton wrote for the majority. But that condition does not violate the Constitution because the affiliates do not have a due process right to perform abortions.
Sutton also found no proof the ban posed an undue burden on a womans right to abortion by making the procedure harder to obtain. He also said that the right belonged to women, not Planned Parenthood.

Circuit Judge Helene White, who wrote the April 2018 ruling, in a dissenting opinion accused the majority of trying to force Planned Parenthood to cry uncle and lose funding as a condition of performing abortions.
The Constitution prohibits unduly burdening a womans abortion right, even in the form of laws that directly target only the gatekeeper to a womans abortion right - the provider, White wrote.
Judge White you are right..........................
And has for Sutton..........................he is really a POS.......................... ..............just fuck the Constitution..............

UnitedHealthcare broadens direct drug rebate program
Source: Associated Press
By TOM MURPHY 57 minutes ago
The nations largest health insurer is expanding a program that passes rebates from drugmakers directly to the people that use their medications.
Beginning next year, all new employer-sponsored health plan customers that use UnitedHealthcare must give the discounts they get to consumers at the point of sale, the insurer said Tuesday.
Pharmacy benefit managers typically negotiate rebates from pharmaceutical companies to help offset the high initial prices set for many drugs. But those discounts rarely flow directly to the people filling prescriptions.
Instead, they are often passed on to companies that sponsor employee insurance plans and are used to reduce premiums or offset other plan costs.
