As Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell sweats to cut deals over his bill to dismantle federal healthcare safety nets, the latest polls are finding that the more people know about its details, the more theyre fearful of its impacts and will blame Republicans.
But when it comes to the nations overall health and our insurance-based systems ability to address those needs, Americans should remember that the U.S. now lags far behind most wealthy nations. Should the Republican bill should it pass and become law, it will only make a bad health care status quo much worse.
McConnells bill will turn a nation with plenty of hardship into an even harsher place, as the ill effects of poverty become more visible as access to preventative and ongoing care will be reduced for tens of millions.
There is no shortage of evidence showing that the Trumpcare bill recently stalled in the Senate is toxic and harmful, wrote Stephanie Connolly, research director for Social Security Works. It would cause 22 million Americans to lose their health care over the next decade. Medicaid protections for seniors and people with disabilities, including long-term care, would be threatened. Affordable coverage for individuals with pre-existing conditionsincluding cancer, Alzheimers disease, and even pregnancywould no longer be guaranteed. Health care plans would no longer be required to cover essential services that can keep preventable conditions from becoming deadlier and costlier. And premiums for low- and middle-income seniors just under the Medicare eligibility age would rise dramatically.

Medicare Halts Release Of Much-Anticipated Data
Source: National Memo

by Charles Ornstein
In the past few years, many seniors and disabled people have eschewed traditional Medicare coverage to enroll in privately run health plans paid for by Medicare, which often come with lower out-of-pocket costs and some enhanced benefits.
These so-called Medicare Advantage plans now enroll more than a third of the 58 million beneficiaries in the Medicare program, a share that grows by the month.
But little is known about the care delivered to these people, from how many services they get to which doctors treat them to whether taxpayer money is being well-spent or misused.
The government has collected data on patients diagnoses and the services they receive since 2012 and began using it last year to help calculate payments to private insurers, which run the Medicare Advantage plans. But it has never made that data public.

During an interview on Fox News Sunday, President Trumps director of legislative affairs Marc Short said a vote could take place soon after the July 4 recess.
We are at the point of scoring two separate bills throughout the course of this recess this week, Short said. So, we hope that we come back the week after recess, well have a vote.

let's be perfectly clear here, these ass**** are running around and saying this:
They reported what CBO says but the CBO credibility should be certainly should be questioned at this point, Short said. Seven million of those people are people that dont exist. Theyre people that is based upon a baseline that CBO put out in 2014, even though the actual number is way down here.
Theres another 7 million people they say will choose to leave the market that they say are losing insurance. Thats not losing, thats choosing, he added.
FU, Marc Short, I mean really FU
Shocking Conduct In South Dakotas Drug War
Source: National Memo
Reprinted with permission from Alternet.
The state of South Dakota is practicing a form of drug war excess tantamount to torture or sexual assault, according to a pair of federal lawsuits filed by the ACLU on June 28. One suit charges that law enforcement and medical personnel subject drug suspects to forcible catheterization if they refuse to submit to a drug test.
The second suit charges even more outrageous conduct: State social workers and medical personnel subjecting a screaming toddler to the same treatment, in a fruitless bid to bring a child abuse or neglect charge against his mother.
Lets be clear here: We are talking about a person having a plastic tube painfully inserted in his penis without his consent and with the use of whatever physical force is necessary by agents of the state. In the name of enforcing drug laws.
Law enforcement has an incentive to coerce people into consenting to warrantless drug testswith the realistic threat of forced catheterizationbecause its state laws punish not just possession of drugs, but having used them. Under the states internal possession or unlawful ingestion statutes, testin

Axios reported, citing an unnamed Republican aide familiar with the discussions, that Senate Republicans asked the CBO to score one version of the bill including Sen. Ted Cruzs (R-TX) proposal to bypass some insurance regulations and one version without it.
White House staffers on Sunday said Senate Republicans could vote on a health care bill as soon as the week after the July 4 recess.
Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price said the White House looks forward to Republican lawmakers coming back after this Fourth of July recess and getting the work done.

Source: Talking Points memo
President Donald Trumps administration is evaluating the future of the White House Council on Women and Girls and considering whether to keep or eliminate the council, according to several reports.
Politico on Friday reported that the council has gone dark while the White House decides its future, according to three unnamed senior White House officials.
ABC News reported on Friday, citing an unnamed senior White House official, that Trumps administration is debating the future of the council created by former President Barack Obama.
The White House is evaluating the best positioning of this office going forward, White House spokeswoman Hope Hicks told ABC News in a statement. We want the input of the various agencies to understand the assets they have so that we make this office additive, not redundant.

While out west the temps oared to 125 degrees in Phoenix and Palm Springs, and this yahoo running around trying to show that he won the popular vote, by having a commission trying to get private voter information, which violates the illegal search amendment on the Constitution in my opinion
Then running around some and doing more besmirching of a cable morning news host, and trying to "blackmail" her, and then there is the possible link of Flynn and a GOP operative and the hacking at the DNC and election being reported by the WSJ.
