Conservative Florida official who smeared Parkland kids as 'miscreants' fumes after receiving

X-rated prank........................

By Tana Ganeva

The Florida official who called the Parkland activists “miscreants” appears to be the target of a mail prank, reports the Pensacola News Journal.

Escambia County Commissioner Doug Underhill got a package labeled “industrial strength dildos.” In fact, the box contained paper, not the promised wares.

Still, Underhill was not amused. He brought the box to his office and went on a long rant about the lack of civility.

“There’s no way this is even remotely appropriate in the way that we conduct business here in Escambia County,” Underhill said, gesturing to the box.

Workers at Shell plant told they would not get paid unless they attended Trump's speech: report

By Brad Reed

A new report from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette claims that workers at Royal Dutch Shell’s petrochemical plant in Beaver County this week were told that they had to attend President Donald Trump’s speech on energy if they wanted to be paid.

In a memo to union employees obtained by the Post-Gazette, Shell informed workers that their “attendance is not mandatory,” but said that if they did not attend the rally, they would have to take a day off without getting paid.

According to the Post-Gazette, workers were to show up no later than 7 a.m. on Tuesday morning this week, where they were to get their identity cards scanned and would then have to wait in line for hours before the president’s speech.

“NO SCAN, NO PAY,” Shell informed the workers.

Just leave your rights at the work door...............................but have a "paid training day" to hear a malignant psychopath.

I just gotta ask, how does Shell put that in your file........................if you don't show up...................with this basic mandatory bullshit..............

This "guy" has about as much respect for workers.....................as the illegals that he hired for his golf courses, and the families he stiff's out of contracts.....................................

Feeling alone, man invites world to El Paso victim's funeral

By JAMIE STENGLE 2 hours ago

When 63-year-old Margie Reckard was killed by a gunman who opened fire at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas, earlier this month, Antonio Basco lost his entire world. So, as the man who felt so alone planned her funeral, he invited the world to join him in remembering his companion of 22 years.

Since then, condolences and orders for flowers have poured in. When her funeral is held Friday evening in El Paso, an overflow crowd is expected.

“He felt like he was going to kind of just be by himself with this whole thing but it’s not so — it’s going to be amazing,” Perches Funeral Homes director Harrison Johnson told The Associated Press on Thursday.

Johnson, who is also a pastor, will speak at the service, which was moved from one of their funeral homes to La Paz Faith Memorial & Spiritual Center to accommodate the crowd. He said vocalists and musicians have also volunteered to help, including a mariachi band. The public is also welcome at Reckard’s burial Saturday morning.

Hugh Hewitt Tries to use Bobby Kennedy's Compassion to Insulate Trump, Joe III Calls B.S.

Hugh Hewitt represents an almost singular challenge to those of us who try to traffic in the truth, nearly unique amongst the bottom feeding defenders of Trump, Hewitt is intelligent enough to read a speech written by Robert Kennedy, dissect and distort his words enough to fool the idiots who read him and are willing to suspend disbelief at his assertion that Bobby Kennedy would, if he were still alive, be doing anything but flaying Trump in every single phrase that he utters.

In his Washington Post Column Hewlitt castigates Democrats wrongly for the societal upheavals unleashed by generational changing of the guard in the late 1960s and, slightly less wrongly, on the scourge of the Vietnam war (which Bobby sought desperately to end)... even though he some how manages to lay the combat dead in 1970 at the Democrats feet... before he gets to his meat.

Praising Bobby’s speech in Indianapolis on the night of Martin Luther King Jr.’s murder, as we all should, Hewlitt fails to grasp or, chooses not to comprehend, as doing so would spoil his attempt to weaponize the speech, is that Kennedy was pleading that his largely black audience show an almost un-human degree of forbearance in response to the naked white racism that killed Dr. King.

Hewitt recasts that plea, rooted in Kennedy’s understanding of the moment and the historical forces that led to it, as a request for a cloud of tolerance to envelope both sides of the racist divide, as Hewitt undoubtedly believes that both sides have “very fine people” on their teams, and that that opium cloud of bullshit be allowed also to enshroud der leader Trump.

Lets think about this for one minute, this a****le, Hewitt has gig on MSNBC, and as for adding more insult to the fomenting of hate, on PBS Maryland, the McLaughlin Report, in the country, if anyone watches, they, PBS Maryland will add another fucking avowed racist by the name of Pat Buchanan, while PBS, will be asking for donations like programs like this............................. . Because after all, the republicans smeared public television, for years as being to "LIBERAL"....................and MSNBC allows this Hewitt, jerk airtime to rant his BS, and just doesn't have any principles......................just fucking greed.....................

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Democratic-led U.S. House Judiciary Committee said on Friday it will cut short its summer recess and meet on Sept. 4 to consider new gun control legislation in response to back-to-back mass shootings in Texas and Ohio.

The panel will prepare a series of bills for consideration by the full House of Representatives including a high-capacity magazine ban, a measure to prevent people convicted of misdemeanor hate crimes from purchasing firearms and a red flag bill to deny guns to those deemed to be a danger to themselves and others.

Lawmakers will also hold a Sept. 25 hearing on military-style assault weapons.

The full House and Senate are both on recess and scheduled to reconvene on Sept. 9.

Gay Republican group endorses Trump in astonishing act of gaslighting

Published 11 mins ago on August 16, 2019

By David Badash, The New Civil Rights Movement
- Commentary

With more than a year before the 2020 presidential election a nationwide gay group, the Log Cabin Republicans, have announced they are endorsing President Donald Trump for re-election. The 42-year old group wisely refused to endorse Trump during the 2016 election, but in a flip on Thursday decreed the anti-LGBTQ President has “met his commitments to LGBTQ Americans.”

That’s just plain false.

Log Cabin Republican chairman Robert Kabel and vice chairwoman Jill Homan penned a 751 word Washington Post op-ed, which the paper surprisingly appears to not have thoroughly fact-checked, attempting to justify the turnabout endorsement.

The op-ed comes during the same week that Trump has fired strong and potentially devastating attacking against the LGBTQ community in a clear attempt to further weaken our civil rights.

On Tuesday, as NCRM reported, Trump’s Dept. of Justice was caught attempting to strong-arm the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) to reverse years of findings and rulings, and declare before the U.S. Supreme Court that discrimination against LGBT workers is legal.

-snip-

This is but a small sampling of President Donald Trump’s attacks on LGBTQ people.

If the Log Cabin Republicans wish to pretend to support the LGBTQ community, they would do better than hitching their wagons to the most anti-LGBTQ president in modern American history.

Donald Trump is the most anti-LGBT President in modern American history.

Israel Now Says It Will Let Tlaib In, But Only To Visit Her 90-Year-Old Grandma

Despite being officially banned from entering the country by the Israeli government, Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) requested special permission to enter this weekend so she can visit her grandmother, according to a Haaretz reporter.

In a letter sent to the Israeli Ministry of the Interior, Tlaib asked to for admittance to the country to visit her relatives, “specifically my grandmother, who is in her 90s.”

“This could be my last opportunity to see her,” she wrote, adding that she would not “promote boycotts against Israel” during the visit.

According to multiple reports, the Israeli government granted the congresswoman’s special “humanitarian” request.

Trump Accidentally Fat Shames One Of His Own Supporters At Rally

By Kate Riga
August 16, 2019 8:31 am

President Donald Trump’s Thursday night rally in Manchester, New Hampshire was briefly interrupted by protesters.

According to the Associated Press, as they were led out, a man wearing a “Trump 2020” shirt shook his fist in support of the President. But from the stage, Trump mistook the fan as one of the hecklers.

“That guy’s got a serious weight problem. Go home. Start exercising. Get him out of here, please,” he said. “Got a bigger problem than I do.

The comment seems a bit rich coming from Trump, who himself is overweight and has a famous aversion to exercise and attraction to McDonalds.

Five Democratic senators just declared all-out war on the Supreme Court

What goes around, comes around.

Ian Millhiser

A tone of ritualized obsequiousness pervades most briefs filed in the Supreme Court of the United States. Judges are powerful and at the Supreme Court level, unaccountable. They wield enormous, arbitrary power not just over litigants but over the lawyers who appear in their courtrooms. So when most lawyers speak to a court, they speak with a painful awareness of the arbitrary control separating the bar from the bench.

Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), however, is not most lawyers.

Whitehouse is one of five senators (the others are Sens. Mazie Hirono (D-HI), Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Dick Durbin (D-IL), and Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY)) who filed a brief earlier this week in a Second Amendment case the Supreme Court’s Republican majority could use to dismantle what remains of America’s gun regulations. Whitehouse is also the lead (and only) counsel on the brief.

The brief itself is less a legal document than a declaration of war. Though parts of it argue that the high court lacks jurisdiction over this case, New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. City of New York, the thrust of the brief is that the Supreme Court is dominated by political hacks selected by the Federalist Society, and promoted by the National Rifle Association — and that if those hacks don’t watch out, the American people are going to rebel against them.

Seriously.

And David French is pissed off that Whitehouse and 4 other attorneys with standing are calling out this activists court ....................well, French, Whitehouse ( the other 4 attorneys) are saying your Federalist Society is basically saying your right wing court is dangerous to a republic and democracy.......................this going to be interesting to see how your anti constitutional court handles this brief...........................Roberts can't punt on this David French, and the box just got smaller .......................

Joni Ernst trashes gun laws most Americans want: 'They won't make a difference'

By

August 15, 2019

Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA) used a Wednesday town hall to make excuses for why she won't support any laws to reduce gun violence.

Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA), one of 100 senators in the entire nation, told an audience on Wednesday that she is powerless to stop the epidemic of gun violence ravaging the nation.

"Laws upon laws upon laws; they're not followed," Ernst said during a town hall in Parkersburg, Iowa. "They won't make a difference."

Video of the town hall was captured by American Bridge, a progressive research organization.

Ernst, who faces a tough reelection race in 2020, then mocked the idea of even attempting to reduce gun violence, saying calls to do so were about "scoring political points."
