CNN: town in Kentucky votes Republican after 144 years of voting Democrat

This was a segment on CNN while I was at the gym.
The volume was down, so I was reading the text on the screen.
Supposedly, this town or county in Kentucky, has voted Democratic for 144 years.
This year, it went for Trump.

They interviewed some of the town folk. They were all obviously senior citizens. By appearance they weren't well off.
Each one said they'd voted for Clinton twice and Obama twice, but decided Trump's business sense beat out Hillary in this election.

I don't know if I should cry or shake my head: the GOP is already talking about bringing down Medicare and Social Security, and they aren't even in power yet. Those folks CNN interviewed are going need someone to lift their jaws off the floor, very soon.

What irritates me (along with the dumb fucks that voted for Trump) is that CNN didn't bother asking these previously dedicated Democrats, how they feel about the GOP being in power now, and what they will probably do to SS and Medicare.

A lot, a lot, a lot of trolls lurking in the past few days on DU.

There must be truths sprouting on DU, that need to be buried by crusty, dead, soulless GOP(utin) dirt.

I'm beginning to think the real reason Trump wants to build a wall...

is to keep us in.

The GOP has gone from, "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!"

To:
"Mr. Putin, help us win elections."

What's So Funny 'Bout Peace Love and Understanding...has never been more appropritate.

I can't help but wonder what the Tea Party gun-humpers had planned for a Trump loss...

and I wonder if they are disappointed to a degree.

Anyone else think votes were stolen or flipped?

I heard it in every other election since 2000, but the topic has been quelled in this election.
Watching the election unfold, it just seemed too unbelievable that swing states that were projected to go to Clinton, magically went to "It."
538, who has been so amazing at predicting elections, was tripping over their own feet as Clinton's leads were stripped away. Clinton went from 81% on 538, down to 60% in a couple hours.
With all the talk of Putin getting involved, and even here of folks saying their early votes were being flipped, I STILL think something very dishonest went on in that election.

I know it's nothing new, but it is amazing to pause and dwell on for a minute:

Tomorrow we will witness the election of the first woman President of the United States of America.
I know we still can't relax for a moment—especially considering the GOP opponent;
But this is quite a time we're living in, folks!

I taught my dog to "high-five" (Note: not the dog in the gif attached). She's a brilliant German Shepherd /Aussie or Border Collie mix (she's a rescue, so we don't know for sure what her mix is). But sometimes, when the treat is very scrumptious, she'll put her paw so high in the air for the high-five that it fills me with laughter...the kind of laughter that fills your whole body.
