Jeremy Corbyn faces a damaging new anti-semitism scandal as a bombshell dossier reveals the full extent of anti-Jewish, violent and abusive comments on Facebook groups mobilising his most fervent supporters.
Twelve senior staff working for the Labour leader and the shadow chancellor, John McDonnell, are members of groups containing anti-semitic and violent comments, including praise for Adolf Hitler and threats to kill Theresa May, the prime minister.
The most comprehensive investigation conducted into 20 of the biggest pro-Corbyn Facebook groups — numbering 400,000 members — found routine attacks on Jewish people, including Holocaust denial.
The dossier was compiled over two months by whistleblowers working with The Sunday Times in the groups, who gained access to restricted membership groups. They uncovered more than 2,000 racist, anti-semitic, misogynistic, violent and abusive messages.

The local Union of Jewish students of France at the Sorbonne ransacked
Blocked by students, the school was closed at the time. A few hours before the white march in memory of Mireille Knoll, the Minister of Higher Education asks that "all light is made" on these degradations.
"To death Israel", "Long live Palestine", "Palestine will win" ... These are the messages that were discovered this Wednesday in the premises of the Union of Jewish Students of France (UEJF) at the University Paris-I The Sorbonne. Beyond these inscriptions, the local center Pierre-Mendès-France was "completely sacked," says Sacha Ghozlan, president of the UEJF. The university's president, Georges Haddad, who went there to see the damage, announced to the UEJF that he intended to lodge a complaint.
The Tolbiac site at the Sorbonne, which was supposed to reopen on Thursday morning, is currently blocked by a group of far left activist students. These students are asking for "the withdrawal of the laws ORE (Orientation and success of students) and Asylum-immigration". "These claims are not the responsibility" of Paris-I, said this morning its president George Haddad on the account of Pantheon-Sorbonne. The university must "remain a place of public debate, broad and serene" but "these debates can not be done at the expense of the good course of the academic year, without taking into account the rules of safety and security", added it it, before the discovery of the degradations in the local of the UEJF.
In a press release, the Minister of Higher Education, Frédérique Vidal, asked that all the light be shed on these degradations. It refers to "anti-Semitic tags and degradations". The minister explained condemning "with the greatest firmness these shameful degradations" and recalls that this rampage took place only a few hours of the white march in tribute to Mireille Knoll , Jewish woman murdered Friday. "It is more than ever necessary to place the core values of respect, solidarity and fraternity at the heart of our society," added the minister.

I should have known better than to answer it and invite the second round of an evening barrage from supporters of the Chicago Dyke March which, four days earlier, had ejected three Jewish women from their event.
It was a small, local story, which no one expected to be repeated outside of Chicago, least of all the Dyke March Collective.
After the news of the discrimination against the Jewish participants in the march went global, the Collective scrambled to put together at least three wildly different excuses including a Jewish Pride flag making Palestinian attendees uncomfortable, the three women somehow disrupting a march of over a thousand people, and, ultimately, a massive conspiracy cooked up between the Jewish LGBT advocacy organization A Wider Bridge and the media.
When the condemnations kept coming, they turned on the easier target: the messenger.
That had been made clear during a more civilized on-the-record interview with one of the organizers who told me she felt that I and, consequently, my newspaper had “failed in its journalistic mission.”

Those of us concerned about anti-Semitism in the Labour party will not be ignored any longer
Never again. Those were words that meant something once. But if the events of the last two years have shown us anything it is that in the Labour Party, even the hardest of lessons is too easily unlearned.
When my great uncle faced down Oswald Mosley at Cable Street, he was standing shoulder to shoulder with Communists and socialists of every stripe, who recognised the evil of anti-Semitism for what it is.
How times change. We are living in a time when Labour Party members share conspiracy theories about Israel being responsible for 9/11, accuse those who disagree with them of being on the CIA payroll, and question the facts of the Holocaust from the stage of our conference.
The abuse that I and other Jewish members have received is deplorable. One individual, after describing me as a “Yid piece of shit”, went on to suggest my rightful place was not in the Parliamentary Labour Party but at the end of a noose. Just last week I was contacted by a Jewish member who found herself harassed at a meeting by a fellow party member after she supported a motion calling for the Chakrabarti report to be enacted.
This hatred is now professed openly and in plain sight. A cursory glance at social media will show how far the poison has spread.
There was a time when the left’s response to fascists was “they shall not pass”. Today it feel more like “come on in”.

DC councilman promotes anti-Semitic conspiracy theory in Facebook video
As a few snowflakes fell in D.C. Friday morning, one D.C. Council member took to Facebook to vent about the weather, embracing an anti-Semitic conspiracy theory that a wealthy Jewish family is controlling the weather.
“It just started snowing out of nowhere this morning. Y’all better pay attention to this climate control,” said Trayon White Sr. (D-Ward 8) in the March 16 Facebook video shown above, courtesy The Washington Post.
“It’s climate manipulation and D.C. keep talking about ‘we are a resilient city’ and that’s a model based off the Rothschilds controlling the climate to create natural disasters they can pay for to own the cities, man. Be careful.”
The Rothschild family is a wealthy family of bankers from Europe who have been the subject of many conspiracy theories stemming from anti-Semitic prejudice that allege they are manipulating world events to their advantage.
The Washington Post said they reached out to White for clarification, to which he wrote, “The video says what it says.”

DC councilman apologizes for promoting conspiracy theory that weather is controlled by Jews
Washington, D.C. lawmaker apologized on Sunday after he posted a video promoting a conspiracy theory that the weather is controlled by Jewish financiers.
“I work hard every day to combat racism and prejudices of all kinds. I want to apologize to the Jewish Community and anyone I have offended,” Councilman Trayon White Sr. (D) said in a statement to The Washington Post.
“The Jewish community have been allies with me in my journey to help people. I did not intend to be anti-Semitic, and I see I should not have said that after learning from my colleagues," he continued.
White had posted a video of snowfall on Friday saying it was caused by the famous European Jewish banking family, the Rothschilds. A conspiracy theory suggests that the Rothschilds are causing global warming.
“Man, it just started snowing out of nowhere this morning, man. Vanessa Trump married Trump Jr. in 2005. They have five children.
The reasons for the divorce filed Thursday in Manhattan Supreme Court were not clear. The divorce was listed as "uncontested," indicating the split was amicable. Trump Jr., 40, has been traveling extensively while running his father's business with his brother, Eric.

Anti-Semitism fatigue is now a normal part of British politics
How did it come to this? Here we are, in 2018, in modern, democratic, fair-minded Britain, and what happens when it turns out the leader of the Labour Party was a member of a secret Facebook group awash with anti-Semitic comments? Not a lot really.
As the political editor of the Jewish Chronicle, I have been writing about Jeremy Corbyn’s associations with anti-Semites, Holocaust deniers and radical clerics since long before he became leader of the opposition. I have also lost count of the number of stories I have written on Labour MPs, councillors, activists and supporters linked to Jew-hate since the summer of 2015.
When I saw the work of David Collier – an unassuming, quiet, personable researcher – on Wednesday morning, I have to admit, even I reacted with a shrug. His exposé of hundreds of offensive and anti-Semitic posts from the Palestine Live Facebook group uncovered the sort of material I have seen countless times before from such collectives – how the Rothschilds ‘invented the Holocaust hoax’, Mossad carried out the 9/11 attacks, and an article titled ‘why the Jews are the unrepentant destroyers of all that’s decent on the planet’.
Except this time there is one key added feature – not just the presence, but the active participation, of Mr Corbyn. Cue media scrum, right? Wrong.

Imagine the following scenario. In the next few months an extreme party surges to the brink of power on mainland Europe. Its leader is an eccentric maverick with a penchant for spending his time buried deep in the darker recesses of the internet, where he engages with sites populated by posts about and links to conspiracy theorists, Holocaust deniers and the peddlers of neo-Nazi propaganda.
He openly embraces religious fanatics, personally donates money to virulently racist organisations, and entertains proscribed terrorist groups, describing them as ‘friends’. At his side is a loyal lieutenant, in whose office is proudly displayed a plaque praising the sacrifice of terrorists who murdered police officers and civilians. He frames violent attacks on the headquarters of his political opponents as representing ‘the best of our movement’. He echoes calls for female political opponents to be ‘lynched’. He tells his supporters that media organisations who fail to report in the way they deem appropriate should be forced to do so by direct action.
The rise of this party, understandably, causes consternation. Jewish leaders publicly state they would not even enter the room with its leaders unless the overt racism is addressed. A cross-party parliamentary investigation finds the party has become a ‘safe-space’ for racists. Moderate politicians speak out, but are confronted by an unprecedented campaign of abuse and intimidation. Homophobic and misogynistic slurs become commonplace. Bricks are thrown through windows. The party’s cultish followers, drunk on their own political momentum, chant their leaders’ names at massed rallies.
Actually, don’t bother to imagine. Simply open your eyes. That party is Labour. That leader is Jeremy Corbyn. And that mainland European country is our own. We live in an era of unprecedented and dramatic political turmoil. But the most significant changes can still occur incrementally and unobtrusively. And that is what has just happened.

Jeremy Corbyn* was a member of a private Facebook group in which members published dozens of anti-Semitic messages and holocaust denial theories, it emerged yesterday.
Labour last night confirmed it was investigating up to half a dozen party members for their involvement in the group, with Corbyn allies Clive Lewis and Chris Williamson identified as members of the group.
Messages published on Palestine Live include conspiracy theories about the Rothschild family, supposed Israeli involvement in the 9/11 attacks and links to material produced by neo-Nazi groups.
Other posts include links to articles written by conspiracy theorist David Icke and the leader of the Ku Klux Klan, David Duke.
In one of the more disturbing posts, an image was posted of a pig with the words “Israel Lobby” branded on its side, which showed four politicians suckling from it
