guillaumeb's JournalJoe Biden Demands That TV Networks Stop Giving Giuliani Airtime
From the article:
Giving Rudy Giuliani valuable time on your air to push these lies in the first place is a disservice to your audience and a disservice to journalism, the advisers wrote. A copy of the letter was obtained by The New York Times.

Biden knows that the networks are more interested in ratings and advertising revenue.
Giuliani is creating the "Biden/Ukraine/corruption" meme every time he talks.
Giuliani comes across as an idiot every time he opens his mouth, but he only does so for the informed voters.
Many voters do not really follow politics, or do any reading about political issues until quite close to an election.
Giuliani's goal here is not to present a coherent explanation of the Trump/Ukraine nexus of treason and corruption, but his goal is simply to repeat the Biden/Ukraine/corruption meme, with the deliberate aid of FOX news and Russian agents, so that when uninformed voters hear the name Biden, they will vaguely remember hearing about Biden in the context of corruption and Ukraine.
The same thing was done in 2015-2016 with the "Clinton/server/untrustworthy" meme that successfully changed HRC's image of a very trusted politician.
Every time Giuliani repeats this meme, he knows it will trend on social media platforms and he hopes it will contribute to the dialogue of destroying Biden's character.
Rudy Giuliani, Bill Barr, and Lindsay Graham give unethical lawyers a bad name.
Sad that these lawyers apparently failed the legal ethics portion of their training. But par for the GOP.
To save the planet, we need faith, ethics, science and economics
From the article:
Dealing with climate change will require an ethical vision, solid science and good economic policies. The absence of any of these three could consign our response to failure.
If the Earth is an icon where we can see the face of God, then defacing it is a sacrilege. If we are all Gods children, then we must protect each other from harm. If you contribute to global warming, then you may be consigned to the fires of hell.
But an ethical and religious vision is insufficient without solid science. Science tells us what is causing global warming: CO2 and other greenhouse gases caused by human activity. Science tells us what the impact of global warming will be: melting ice caps and rising sea levels; melting glaciers and disruption of weather patterns and water supplies; disruption of agriculture; and extermination of millions of species of animals, plants and insects.

(X-posted from religion) China Wants the World to Stay Silent on Muslim Camps. It's Succeeding.
From the article:
But Mr. Erdogan, who has stridently promoted Islamic values in his overwhelmingly Muslim country, was largely silent on the incarceration of more than one million Turkic Muslims in Chinas western region of Xinjiang, and the forced assimilation of millions more....
Like Mr. Erdogan, the world has been noticeably quiet about Xinjiang, where China has built a vast network of detention camps and systematic surveillance over the past two years in a state-led operation to convert Uighurs into loyal, secular supporters of the Communist Party. Even when diplomats have witnessed the problems firsthand and privately condemned them, they have been reluctant to go public, unable to garner broad support or unwilling to risk financial ties with China.

China is using the language of the "war on terror" to cover for an attack on theism, and to seize the assets of the Uighur peoples.

What if the GOP convinces Trump to resign, or actually votes to impeach.
Where could the Trump cultists go?
The KKK is no longer open and active. While racism is still a huge force both institutionally and individually, there are simply not enough racists to compete with the big tent appeal of the Democratic Party.
The Nazis are a fringe group.
The proud boys are too few.
My premise is that if Trump either resigns or is impeached, angry Trump cultists will have few options. Do they refuse to engage with the GOP, fatally weakening it?
Do they form a third Party?
Do they vote for another GOP candidate?
It was revealed today that President Obama had asked the Ukrainian Government (sarcasm alert)
for help in the 2012 election.
It was further revealed that President Obama had implicitly threatened to withhold money earmarked for Ukraine if the help was not provided.
What if, in an alternate universe, that had been revealed about President Obama in 2013.
What would the right wing pundit corps have said?
What would the US corporate owned media have said?
What would Trump have said?
What would Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, or any other sitting GOP Congressperson have said?
Of course this is speculation, and sarcasm, but given the GOP's well known double standard....
Who in the GOP would vote to impeach Trump?
My opinion is that none of them would vote to remove Trump unless one or more saw it to be in their political interest to do so.
I cannot think of one national level GOP politician with any integrity.
