Investigators said Farook was in touch by phone and via social media with international terrorism subjects

San Bernardino shooter was 'very religious'
The San Bernardino shooting appears to have been triggered by a dispute.
While the cause of the dispute is unknown, the deep religiosity of the shooter doesn't appear to have had a calming influence.
ONE OF the suspects in Wednesday’s mass shooting in California was identified as a young father who worked for the county agency that had been holding a holiday party when the carnage unfolded. Syed Farook, believed to be 30, was linked to the horrific slaughter that left 14 dead at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, a law enforcement official told The Associated Press.
Farook’s father was shocked to learn of his son’s possible involvement in the attack. “I haven’t heard anything,” the elder Syed Farook told the Daily News. “He was very religious. He would go to work, come back, go to pray, come back. He’s Muslim.” The shell-shocked dad said his son worked as a health technician inspecting restaurants and hotels and graduated from La Sierra High School in 2003.
Police said that there had been a dispute during the San Bernardino County Department of Health holiday event at the Inland Regional Center. The Los Angeles Times reported Farook bolted from the holiday bash after arguing with another attendee, and then returned a short time later with the other two shooters.
“He was quiet but always polite,” Maria Gutierrez told The News. “Maybe two years ago he became more religious. He grew a beard and started to wear religious clothing. The long shirt that’s like a dress and the cap on his head.”

I have made that claim and different people asked me for the sources.

Yay! I got a new post in 'Religion' hidden
Posted a rant by a crackpot Orthodox blaming the islamist Paris attacks on the Mossad.
Someone took the pain to answer the obvious with due solemnity, i.e. that this lone religious youtube nutjob did not represent all of his religion of choosing (he's a converted Jew, apparently). That someone must have certainly thought he was telling me something I had never heard before, right?. I mean, it's not as if he had tried to lay the context for an alert, I'm sure. People are not that perverse.
I countered that it was just good comedy relief after Paris to observe how religion fosters religious mania and religious nutjobs (ISIS, this Orthodox Pope). Something that many mainstream believers in religion find hard to accept, I know.
After 10 posts back and forth about religious mania, the debate was brought to a halt by someone who thought it was the 'spiritual' thing to do to alert. Reasons for hiding were so literal (to shut off antisemitic propaganda) I will have to think about posting huge signs to spell the obvious. Something like quarter screen banners with subtle messages like: "The person posting DOES NOT SHARE the fringe views posted here, but does it for X, Y and Z reasons"
Thanks to the alerter anyway. I'm sure he alerted out of religious goodness
with a good heart, and the best of charitable intentions.
The irony: one of the Paris shooters was a regular at gay bars
So, let's see if I get it straight (accidental pun)

In the aftermath of last night's warning of an "imminent" terror threat in Brussels when OCAM Crisis Center and the government raised the country's terror alert to the highest level, today the escalation continues and the Belgian capital looks like not only a ghost town but something out of a Call of Duty warzone after authorities deployed special forces, and APCs, shut the metro, locked down shopping centers, closed sporting events, and warned the public to avoid crowds, train stations, airports and commercial districts because of a "serious and imminent" threat of an attack.(..)
The reason for the dramatic escalation is that chemicals and explosives were among the items found in the during a police raid on Vandepeerboom Street area in the immigrant neighborhood of Molenbeek, a rundown area where Paris attacker Abdelhamid Abaaoud was suspected of operating a terrorist cell.
