Today's Meme: Hillary supports job-killing trade deals

Imports from China. NAFTA. WTO. She sold TPP around the world, calling it the gold standard.

Does anybody really believe she wouldn't sign the TPP as president?

These deals are not about trade. These are corporate governance agreements that put profit over people. Corporations are guaranteed the right to profit and people are guaranteed the right to starve.

These deals are anti-worker.
Anti-union.
Anti-environment.
Dangerous for consumers.
Harmful toward indigenous communities
And undermine people's struggles for democracy and liberation around the world.

Enough is enough.

When you're impacted by this, you know it. Factories sitting empty for decades. Rusting away in front of us. Millions of people pushed out of the workforce, not even counted as unemployed. A huge amount of structural unemployment. The tax base of our communities is destroyed and we have no money to repair our crumbling public infrastructure. Bridges close because there is no money to maintain them, and they just never reopen. No money for schools or public health. All the money is being vacuumed up by the top 1%.

We need new trade rules that put people over profit. That demand businesses create good paying jobs here at home, not dismantle and ship their assembly lines to China and Vietnam.

This has been today's meme. Thank's for listening.

Sanders calls Clinton’s record on trade a ‘disaster’

LANSING, Mich. — Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders sought Thursday to portray Hillary Clinton as having long been on the wrong side of the debate over U.S. trade policy, a key issue in the upcoming Michigan primary.

At a news conference here, the senator from Vermont ticked off a series of trade pacts, dating to the North American Free Trade Agreement in the 1990s, that he had opposed and Clinton had supported. In the case of NAFTA, Clinton’s husband was in the White House at the time, and Sanders was a junior congressman.

“You didn’t have to have a PhD in economics to figure that one out,” Sanders said, asserting that NAFTA was written by corporate interests with the aim of driving down labor costs with no regard to the effects on American workers.

“This is a criticism of Secretary Clinton’s trade policies, which have been a disaster,” Sanders said of the former secretary of state, senator from New York and first lady. He was flanked by several supportive labor union members.

Sanders: Trade agreements sending U.S. jobs overseas

LANSING TWP. - Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders said "disastrous" trade policies such as the North American Free Trade Agreement and the Trans Pacific Partnership are major reasons why American jobs are being shipped overseas.

"NAFTA and other trade policies were written by corporate America because they did not want to pay workers a living wage," the Vermont senator told a crowd of roughly 30 union workers at the Hyatt Place at the Heights at Eastwood in Lansing Township Thursday morning.

Sanders said he opposed NAFTA while his opponent, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, supported it along with permanent normal trade relations with China and Vietnam.

"American workers are being forced to compete with people who make $1.50 an hour," he said. "We've lost 60,000 factories since 2001 ... almost all of them are because of trade agreements."

Super Tuesday is behind us. Now Michigan and Ohio.

Super Tuesday is behind us. Liz Warren is behind us.

Trade policy is Bernie's strong issue.
Now is Michigan and Ohio.

I would love to see some more internet posts on jobs and trade. The TV news doesn't talk about it because their owners love the corporate trade deals. NAFTA, TPP and China are huge issues right now in this states.

I made some posts:
