Trump administration's relationship with Proud Boys 'will be the subject' of future J6 Committee hea

Trump administration's relationship with Proud Boys 'will be the subject' of future J6 Committee hearings: DOJ

snip...............

What's more, the DOJ specifically says that "the relationship between the Trump Administration and the Proud Boys and other groups will be the subject of a future hearing" from the January 6th Committee.

Emphasis mine.

Hm, what does the DOJ know? Look like they've been conducting their own investigation into the link between the bloated orange motherfucker and the Shameful Boys.

Forget treason. Charge him with sedition (easier to prove) and TERRORISM

That motherfucker singled out specific citizens doing their jobs and sicced the mob on them. A woman who loved to help old people vote and her mother will never be the same ever again. They live in fear even now. They've been terrorized.

Charge him as a terrorist.

In today's hearing, I can't wait for ... how about you?

I can't wait for Raffensperger's answer when they ask him why he taped the phone call.

What are you looking forward to today?

non-appearance of antifascists on Jan. 6 played a critical role in the failure of Trump's coup

This is a thread:

Unrolled text (there are links in the thread):

An unremarked aspect of this fascinating thread is that the non-appearance of antifascists on the scene Jan. 6, played a critical role in the failure of Trump's coup attempt. 1/

Trump had been building the "Antifa/BLM/Violent Left" narrative all year, but he focused on Antifa particularly after he lost the election, and stepped up the vitriol. 2/

It is now apparent that this was part of his scheme to invoke the Insurrection Act amid massive crowd violence. The Jan. 5 timing of the memorandum declaring Antifa a "terrorist organization" was not coincidental. See the resolution's language. /3

It's the first official move Trump has made against the left-wing militant movement since it was thrust into the national spotlight during last year's protests for racial justice.

Trump supporters eagerly prepared for their designated enemies to turn out in force, and shared “sightings” of them in the days leading up to them. This is was from a prominent QAnon supporter on Jan. 2. /4

There was just one flaw with all these plans. Antifascists were able to see Trump’s scheme from miles away, and encouraged all their colleagues to avoid the capital city on January 6. /5

On social media, they shared hashtags like #DontTakeTheBait and #January6TrumpTrap that spread the word. /6

So when the mob gathered on the National Mall on January 6 and headed toward the Capitol, they encountered no resistance from any counterprotesters, much to their surprise. /7

Oath Keepers and Proud Boys alike had been warning each other for weeks to prepare for Antifa or BLM violence. Instead, the only resistance they encountered came from Capitol Police. /8

The first key step in Trump’s plan—for Pence to play along and decline to accept the ballots from the key battleground states—fell apart when Pence did his constitutional duty and certified the Electoral College vote in the Senate. 9/

Then, Trump’s plans to use intended violence between his army of “Patriots” and Antifa as the pretext for invoking the Insurrection Act vanished back into the mists of their imaginations.

We were very, very lucky. Credit Trump's foils for seeing through him. /10

It may have been unlocked the entire time they had their thumbs up their asses and 19 children were slaughtered.

Edited to add: I found out this is satire. What a world we live in that it seems perfectly plausible.

Jan. 6 committee asks Ginni Thomas, wife of Justice Clarence Thomas, to testify

Jan. 6 committee asks Ginni Thomas, wife of Justice Clarence Thomas, to testify

The House Jan. 6 committee sent a letter to Ginni Thomas, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, asking for her to speak to the committee in the wake of reporting by the Washington Post that the committee has evidence of Thomas communicating with lawyer John Eastman.

Committee Chair Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., told reporters after the committee's Thursday hearing that it had made the request of Ginni Thomas, but did not say when the letter had been sent.

Eastman was central to a pressure campaign against then-Vice President Pence to reject the election results when Congress convened on Jan. 6 to count the Electoral College vote, Thompson and Vice Chair Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., say. Thompson told this to reporters on Capitol Hill and Cheney's view was confirmed to NPR's Deirdre Walsh by an aide.

Ginni Thomas told the right-wing news site The Daily Caller in a story published after the start of Thursday's hearing that she would "look forward" to speaking with the committee.

John Eastman and Ginni Thomas Should Have Their Hands Glued to a Bible for the Next Year

John Eastman and Ginni Thomas Should Have Their Hands Glued to a Bible for the Next Year

snip............

This has gone far enough. Both Eastman and Ginni Thomas should have their hands glued to a Bible for the next year. Testifying should be their new full-time jobs. Hundreds of the suckers who came to Washington to be the violent half of the insurrection are languishing in the slammer, and these two can’t even sit in the witness box, or before the special committee? There is no justice.

It's Charlie Pierce so it's an entertaining article. It's a short article and worth reading.

Looks like it's Ginni's time in the barrel

“Ginni Thomas corresponded with John Eastman, sources in Jan. 6 House investigation say”

The Washington Post reports: “The committee’s members and staffers are now discussing whether to spend time during their public hearings exploring Ginni Thomas’s role in the attempt to overturn the outcome of the 2020 election, the three people said.”

Perhaps even more significant than showing a correspondence between Ginni Thomas and John Eastman is the detail that documents newly available to the 1/6 Committee provide additional evidence concerning the effort to have state legislatures back rival slates of electors in support of Trump: ‘The meeting agenda indicates that Eastman discussed “State legislative actions that can reverse the media-called election for Joe Biden.”’

She might want to hire a fucking good criminal defense lawyer. Jus' sayin'.

What do you think the hearings have proven so far?

Most of us already know most of what happened. But what do you think the J6 committee has proven so far?

I'll start with my biggest impression: there can be no plausible deniability of the truth because way more people that I thought CLEARLY told the orange motherfucker that he lost and there was no voter fraud, from election night onwards. They told him in numbers. They told him about how ballots are counted. They told him that early returns would change because of the number of absentee ballots due to the pandemic. They told him in numerous ways and at numerous junctions that HE LOST.

To me, they proved that he couldn't possibly have been deluded enough to think he really did win.

What do you think the J6 committee has proven so far?
