Today's testimony should be a game changer
This is just before the 4th of July weekend. We get time to think about the ideals this country was founded on (and which are being tattered right now by the SCOTUS) and the fact that a former president staged a coup to steal an election, wanted his VP dead, assaulted a SS agent, throws things against the wall in temper tantrums, etc.
And I don't think this is the peak.
But we get to think about the 4th of July and THIS WHOLLY incompetent, criminal unfit, insane motherfucker. What a fucking contrast.

Trump SPAC faces grand jury investigation
The company that plans to merge with former president Donald Trump’s social media company has received subpoenas from a federal grand jury, a setback that could complicate Trump’s plans to bring his company to the public markets.
The company, known as Digital World Acquisition Corp., revealed the subpoenas in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing dated June 24 and warned they “could materially delay, materially impede, or prevent consummation” of the deal. If the combination goes through, Trump’s business could gain access to more than $1 billion committed by investors.
The grand jury is at least the third investigative entity to scrutinize Trump’s special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) deal, after the SEC and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority opened investigations of their own.

I am sick to death of the "if we had only done X" arguments
Enough bashing each other for what SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED. Revisiting 2016 or the stolen SCOTUS seat or the fucking Jill Stein voters is not going to make our lives any better this day.
What can we do NOW?
Have you written letters to your congresspeople? Made calls? Sent money for abortion travel? Attended a protest?
No? What the fuck are you waiting for, someone else to do the work for you? If you want to save America, then let's get to work.
We need EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US to be engaged and furious and to do whatever we can. Whining about the past won't do a damn thing.

Poor RBG is spinning in her grave.
Every time this illegitimate SCOTUS comes out with another horrifying ruling I think of RBG, but especially today.
She thought abortion should have been decided on a different case, and based on equal protection, or sex discrimination, not privacy, because she said that basing it on equal protection wouldn't allow it to be overturned. Basing it only on privacy wasn't as strong a foundation. She said that only women become pregnant, so discrimination on that basis is a violation of equality.
She said:
The decision whether or not to bear a child is central to a woman’s life, to her well-being and dignity. It is a decision she must make for herself. When Government controls that decision for her, she is being treated as less than a fully adult human responsible for her own choices.

The FBI officials did not identify the people associated with those addresses, but public records list each of the locations as the home addresses of the men.
The precise nature of the information being sought by the Justice Department wasn’t immediately clear; however, Arizona and Georgia officials testified Tuesday to a House panel probing the Jan. 6 attacks about attempts by Trump and his inner circle of advisers to try to reverse Biden’s electoral college victories in those states.
Officials have previously said that the Justice Department and FBI were examining the issue of false electors, who Trump and others hoped might be approved by state legislators in a last-ditch bid to keep Trump in the White House. Until now, however, those investigative efforts seemed to primarily involve talking to people in Republican circles who knew of the scheme and objected; the subpoenas issued Wednesday suggest the Justice Department is now moving to question at least some of those who allegedly agreed to pursue the effort.
