EJ Montini, The Republic | azcentral.com 2:33 p.m. MST June 23, 2016

" Say it ain't so, Barry Goldwater.

According to an article in the Phoenix Business Journal a new poll shows Democrat Hillary Clinton leading Republican Donald Trump in a statewide poll of Arizona voters.

Don the Con says he will put in 2 million, but will pay how much back to him and his interests?

"Donald Trump raised more than $2 million in 12 hours on Tuesday, his son said.

In a Wednesday email to supporters, Donald Trump Jr. said his father's first fundraising email was a "massive success."

The presumptive Republican nominee had appealed to supporters Tuesday for funds, announcing he would match up to $2 million in donations.

Another great Clinton line about Trump

In her response to Don the Con's tirade today:

""Clinton responded by accusing Trump of "attacking a philanthropic foundation that saves and improves lives around the world."

"It's no surprise that he doesn't understand these things. The Clinton foundation helps poor people around the world get access to life-saving AIDS medicine," Clinton added. "Donald Trump uses poor people around the world to produce his line of suits and ties.""

David Gergen flabbergasted: ‘This was a slanderous speech’

" White House veteran David Gergen accused Donald Trump of going beyond a political attack on Wednesday with a “slanderous speech” against presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

...
“You can’t ignore the truth of what he says or the lack of truth of what he says,” Gergen explained. “I do think in the coming days we’re going to hear and awful lot about a string of lies and exaggerations.”

For example, the CNN contributor said that he was shocked that Trump would rely on Peter Schweizer’s controversial book Clinton Cash. “That book has been basically discredited,” Gergen noted. “He has no evidence that shows money given by donors to the Clinton Foundation then resulted in actions by the State Department that favored those donors. And what Schweizer himself has said is, ‘Well, I think there’s a pattern here and we ought to investigate.’ I’m sorry, at this level, you can’t slander somebody.”

Here's the Guy Behind Trump's Weird 'Mad Men' Connection

by Dan Primack @danprimack June 21, 2016, 3:54 PM EDT in Fortune

" When Donald Trump filed his latest Federal Elections Commission report on Monday evening, there was an interesting expenditure: $35,000 for “web advertising” to Draper Sterling, a New Hampshire-based firm that seems to have cribbed its name from the television program Mad Men (in which Don Draper worked at Sterling Cooper).

When media outlets checked with New Hampshire state records, they found that Draper Sterling was located in the residential home of Jon Adkins, a longtime medical device sales executive who also co-founded a (now-defunct) “science and technical consulting firm” whose clients often included Republican politicians. One former company employee, for example, wrote on LinkedIn that his primary job was “providing professional canvassing services for Republican candidates.”

Adkins’ partner in that consulting firm was Paul Holzer, who is best known in Massachusetts political circles for his work helping to elect Gov. Charlie Baker. Adkins and Holzer currently are co-founders of a nonprofit biotech startup called XenoTherapeutics, which is focused on a new class of severe burn treatments.
