Merry Christmas to all my DU MA peeps. It's bedtime for this old man

Those few of ya that have been keeping track of my music posts are probably wondering about how much Leo Nocentelli shows up on my feed.

Buy this record. It's a time capsule for a pop era that never happened

Sierra Ferrell.

Happy Birthday to Lemmy

Would've been 76 today

I just heard it again. People say, "I wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire" -

But I'm not sure, I might piss on 'em

I am willing to find out.

Do yinz think the GOP would set themselves on fire somewhere I can watch?

It's a log. YULE LIKE IT

Bedtime is closing in. Feel like an Albert King jam would be an appropriate lullaby

Here he is on a fiery live take on Matchbox Blues

His tone is just vicious on this version

Bonus track, the version from the San Francisco album is super cool too, but it's really subdued compared to the live cut.

The intro is pure gold, so I have to include it. HAVE TO. If only because of the mental image of a well-dressed lady built up just like a coca cola bottle

I'm partial to 70s era ZZ Top. Imma share some of the deeper cuts. It's a compulsion TBH

Before you ask, yes. Yes, I did.

I owned ALL of these on 8 track at one time or another.

First one is from the album Tejas.

Rio Grande Mud is badass all the way through. Really raw and guitar driven hard rock. The big hit was Just Got Paid.

This is Whiskey Mama

From Fandango, my favorite release. If I could only have one ZZ top record Fandango is the one

I feel that 1979's release Deguello was a sort of a transition from the 70s Texas style southern rock to the 80s MTV dominating ZZ Top Pop sound.

I didn't much care for it in high school, but I do now. Kinda

"Cheap Sunglasses" and "I'm Bad I'm Nationwide" were big hits, and ZZ Top kind of rode that sound to massive wealth in the decade that followed.

I'm not posting either one, obviously

The 1st ZZ Top album I ever heard (Thanks Uncle Bruce) was Tres Hombres.

This record contains 2 of ZZ Top's all time FM radio anthems "Beer Drinkers Hell Raisers" and La Grange. Nah not gonna post 'em. We all have those tunes memorised.

I always liked this one a lot

Buddy Guy was amazing when I was a baby

Still amazing when I'm almost ready to cash Social Security Checks

Baseball Bits has a new video. The Year of Ohtani

It's pretty fascinating
