I was blown away by how frequently people are searching for ways to do abortions themselves now. These searches are concentrated in parts of the country where it's hard to get an abortion and they rose substantially when it became harder to get an abortion. My sister found a good man later in life, after suffering through more than a decade of belittling and occasional physical abuse from her 1st husband.

1st hubby was a typical hill country backwards thinking good ol' boy, who only walks the earth today because he's my nephew's father. Had I been present during a few events in their marriage, he'd be dead. That is not hyperbole - I hate the man down to the last skin cell in the callous on my feet - and it would not have been a stretch to testify that I feared for my sister's life.

Well, then she met my current BIL and he's been a solid dependable pillar in the reconstruction that has been her life these last 8 years.

Today, hubby 1 posted this nonsense on my sister's FB wall:

WHITE PEOPLE ARE THE ONLY PEOPLE YOU CAN LEGALLY DISCRIMINATE AGAINST!

You've probably already figured it out, but my good BIL is black.

*Edited to add- I said that the woman who lost her child was the recipient of the $6.7M. That is an obvious error. A woman who was repeatedly raped while in custody of the Milwaukee County Jail received the $6.7M.

As far as I know, the woman who lost her baby has received jack shit from the Milwaukee County Sheriff's office or from the State's Attorney*

Me- I don't understand The Trump Party. Pro life until that baby draws a breath. Then their life is shit. Wouldn't want to spare a penny in taxes to feed or care for it.

A friend of mine, a rather conservative AA; retired twice from federal service (USAF and Customs), was discussing Sheriff Clarke's legal issues and the $6.7M awarded to the mother who gave birth in the Milwaukee County jail only to have her baby die due to the Deputies refusal to summon emergency health services. By the way, my buddy, the retired fed has "suspended my affiliation with the Republican party" he may rejoin decency soon.

Edited to correct an obvious misstatement - The $6.7M was not awarded to the woman who lost her child, but to a woman who was repeatedly raped while in custody- Holy shit, Is this guy Torquemada in a cheap suit?

Me- I don't understand your point. A mentally ill very pregnant woman was arrested in his county. She was in labor while they processed her. That baby had a heart beat then. The mother delivered the baby alone in a cell because the county jail deputies refused to alert medical staff. The baby had a fucking heartbeat then as well. The baby did NOT HAVE A HEART BEAT the following morning, when Clarke's deputies finally decided to check what the screaming was about.

Me- So fuck you and your "Leftists hate babies durr durr durr" nonsense while you excuse a system that literally allowed a living baby to die on the bunk of a jail cell rather than call an ambulance

I don't know much, but I like this.
