"Lou Barletta put out a press release today that begins: "Congressman Lou Barletta (PA-11) yesterday voted for a national security funding bill that includes $1.6 billion the full amount requested by the White House for the southern border wall."
"I will never boast about stealing $1.6 billion of your tax dollars to support any of Trump's broken promises."

His comments on the ACA repeal:
Standard Republican fare is tax cuts for the wealthy and pain and suffering for the rest of us. Over the past several months, that approach has built to a crescendo with Republicans in the House and Senate doing their very best to trade away health care access for tens of millions of Americans (!) to pay for hundreds of billions of dollars in tax cuts for the wealthiest in our country. Obviously, the GOP's priorities are exactly backwards.
There has been a flood of comments since 2 am this morning commending Senators Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, and John McCain for standing up to Republican leadership and voting "no" on the GOP's last effort to repeal the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. They do deserve some credit for their votes.
However, let us expand on that some. This bill failed because Democrats in the House and Senate worked tirelessly to oppose the Republicans' efforts. This bill failed because citizen leaders across the country rallied supporters to oppose it. This bill failed to harm Americans because Americans took notice and raised their voices in their defense and in the defense of others.
I have been telling people that political participation and voting are no longer merely civic duties; they are survival skills. While this was exemplified clearly by the assault on health care access, it is also present in GOP attacks on clean water and clean air and on women's rights, including the right to make their own, unfettered health care decisions. It is present today in our energy policies and our education policies. It is especially present in a Presidential panel investigating voter fraud, a panel more accurately described as working on voter suppression.
Republicans have said for decades that government cannot and will not help you, that it can bring you only harm. When Republicans are in charge, do not expect them to show you a well functioning government that helps Americans. Rather, they are going to do all they can to show government is a threat to you. And, in their hands, it is.
Defend yourself. Get involved. Stay involved. In a Democracy, the majority cannot be assured of getting what it wants, only what it demands. Demand. Your very survival depends upon it.

I want to thank Greater Harrisburg YWCA, Planned Parenthood, American Association of University Women and the other sponsors of last night's screening of Equal Means Equal. You provided a valuable service to your community.
Like many of you, I have long been a champion of equal rights for all. This documentary includes many facts and scenes that are familiar to anyone interested in equal and fair treatment for women, something that remains embarrassingly out of reach in this country.
For me, the power of this film is that it brings so many of the barriers and examples of institutional discrimination together in one sitting. That makes for a powerful, even overwhelming effect.
Whether you are a woman or the son, brother, husband, or father of a woman or girl, this film and this issue is exceedingly important to you. When we are holding back girls and women, we are holding back our families, our communities, and our nation. That is, we are directly harming ourselves. We can stop this. We must stop this.
The website for the film includes a place to make a screening request. I encourage you to talk to your friends or your organizations, plan an event, and fill out the request. If you need help, I and my campaign are willing to lend a hand.
No, seriously this is worse than giving us Sarah Palin
There may possibly a person in America that has cost more tax dollars than John McCain - but I'm at a loss to name them.
As a Lt. JG he crashed a fighter jet, and even in the early 60s those are expensive. No. not in Vietnam, in a training scenario
He stayed in the Navy until he could not continue.
I will not hate those years since he served honorably. It just seems strange that such a "free market" warrior has never been subjected to market forces.
Here is the deal though...
He has never cashed a check in his life that wasn't funded by tax dollars.
Well, his second wife's liquor sales have padded his checking account, but unless he had a part time gig in high school he has been on the Government tit for life.
He will soon embark on a tax funded multi million dollar treatment regime for brain cancer. If his military retirement healthcare is the same as mine, he will pay $6000 out of pocket.
I suspect that as a Senator he will pay $0
So I was so impressed that he could come to DC to vote to take away health care from 22 million Americans.
What a MAVERICK.
I'm so glad that Republican values mean that a 72 year old wealthy man gets free health care while he votes to kill my children.
FUCK HIM AND ALL REPUBLICANS
Howe for PA11.
The history of human civilization features one consistency from the start through today. Nations with small and weak governments have been dominated by nations with large and powerful governments. This is how empires arose. This is why we experienced a long period of colonization. This is how our own country expanded to its current dimensions. Trying to make our nation's government small and weak endangers all of us.
Republicans argue strenuously that government is "the problem, not the solution," that government can do nothing and yet can do immense harm, and can do nothing to help its citizens beyond infringing their liberties.
Let me suggest that when we elect into government people who believe your government cannot help you, those people are not going to break their backs trying to prove themselves wrong. Rather, they will accomplish nothing if only to show you they were right. Or, they will do harm to you to prove that point--witness the GOP's efforts at destroying the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, a bit of government helping people that drives Republicans mad.
Democrats believe government can work for you and do good things for you. That is precisely why the Founding Fathers gathered together and drafted our Constitution with a preamble that describes exactly what we are to do. Democrats and the Founding Fathers also understand that government is necessary to protect the free exercise of your rights and liberties--to protect you from the tyranny that would crush your liberty.
When you elect Democrats, they, like the Republicans, will do all they can to prove they are right. Rather than tear down government, weakening the nation and exposing you to harm, they will ensure we have strong communities and a strong nation.

I was stationed with him in Japan a few decades ago.
He had a successful Air Force career and went on to do some impressive things after that.

And I hope that some people are moved to donate, his first FEC filing shows that he has $824 on hand. The election is 15 months away, so I hope he'll get some traction.

More NRA fear mongering against BLM, Antifa and generalized "leftist violence" -
But especially Black people.
Black folks are plotting to torture and kill us white folks, like fer reals fer reals... It's totally a thing that will happen you guys...
Of course it's Obama's fault - well of course it is - IT ALWAYS IS:
Stinchfield began a segment on his show by noting that race relations are strained here in America after eight years of Barack Obama, although he conceded that they are nowhere is near as bad as it is in South Africa where white families are being tortured and killed almost every day in racist violence.
That said, Stinchfields guest, Chuck Holton, cautioned viewers to remain vigilant because Black Lives Matter activists could stoke enough animosity to inspire similar violence against white people in the United States.
Right, you know the parallels between whats happening in South Africa and the blatant racism and violence were seeing from people like the Black Lives Matter crowd, he said. If we continue to let this get out of control, to go down this path of this racial tension, this racial hatred that is being forced on the American culture by the Black Lives Matter crowd.
SNIP
This opinion carries a lot of weight because we all remember how adamantly opposed the NRA was to racist violence in South Africa under the apartheid regime. They never shut up about the injustice of racially motivated violence in SA and around the globe.
So, these videos are really just a continuation of their long standing social justice agenda, not at all a blatant call to arms trying to drive up gun sales in a cynical attempt to prop up gun industry profits.
-END RANT 1-
- BEGIN RANT 2 - On a side note, I have owned firearms off and on my whole life, and like the majority of gun owners I am not a member of the NRA. Fuck these racist sell out corporate whores.
Fuck their race baiting for fun and profit for the entire Obama administration.
Fuck their gift of publicity and a sponsored soap box to a pedophile draft dodging hair ball dead beat dad like Ted Nugent.
