According to a report from The New Yorker, Republican New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has been relegated to Donald Trumps manservant, even going out and fetching fast food orders.
That gem was buried in a piece from Ryan Lizza, detailing how Trumps Republican critics have been forced to choose between supporting or opposing him.
Christie was of course widely mocked for wearing a pained expression while standing behind Trump during an entire speech. A hot mic later caught Trump more or less ordering Christie around after a rally. Get on the plane and go home, Trump whispered in his ear.
Donald Trump Reportedly Has Chris Christie Picking Up His McDonald’s For Him

That gem was buried in a piece from Ryan Lizza, detailing how Trumps Republican critics have been forced to choose between supporting or opposing him.
Marco Rubio, whose last days as a Presidential candidate were spent mocking the size of Trumps hands and the orange hue of his face, recently apologized for the personal attacks, and said that he would speak on Trumps behalf at the Convention. Governor Chris Christie, of New Jersey, another of Trumps opponents early in the campaign, has transformed himself into a sort of manservant, who is constantly with Trump at events. (One Republican told me that a friend of his on the Trump campaign used Snapchat to send him a video of Christie fetching Trumps McDonalds order.)

Donald Trump is taking a victory lap on Twitter in light of the news that the suspect behind last nights massacre in Orlando was motivated by religious extremism.
Earlier in the day, Trump tweeted out a message of mourning as the news broke about the fifty dead and the scores wounded at the Pulse nightclub. As the day went on, the FBI and other officials close to law enforcement said that there were indications that suspect Omar Mateen had extremist leanings and pledged allegiance to ISIS before the attack.
Trump, who has proposed hardline proposals like a temporary ban on Muslims from entering America, spotted another tweet about getting tough on terrorism.
As the indications on Mateens leanings came to a head, Trump topped it off with this tweet to his supporters.
UPDATE 2:25 P.M. EDT: Trump wasnt done yet.

Horrific incident in FL. Praying for all the victims & their families. When will this stop? When will we get tough, smart & vigilant?

Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is known for ham-fisted displays of affection for cultural symbols, but his move at a rally in Tampa, Florida Saturday might even surprise the two Corinthians he loves so much. In the middle of a rant about former President of Mexico Vicente Fox dropping an f-bomb (heaven forfend!), Trumps crowd began to chant Build that wall! Build that wall!
What happened next could best be accompanied by some 70s rhythm guitar and Vaseline on the lens:
(See Video....or don't and not have to bleach your brain out of the image that's in this link)
Heres hoping no one ever shines a black light on that thing.
Trumps gesture is so weird that its hard to find anything in the US Flag Code that applies, although theres a good argument to be made that he violated at least this provision:

Donald Trump the man who has made demonizing Muslims a big part of his presidential campaign now wants to attend the funeral for Americas best known Muslim, Muhammad Ali. Everything Trump does is yuuuuge even his hypocrisy.
Next up will Trump attend Mexican Independence Day celebrations? Or perhaps he will show up at a rally for the National Organization of Women?
Keep in mind Trump didnt just stir up hate in general about Muslims throughout this campaign he actually denied that Muhammad Ali was a person worthy of praise. That happened in December after President Obama declared in a speech that, Muslim Americans are our friends and our neighbors, our co-workers, our sports heroes.
Trump would have none of that. So he took to Twitter mocking the very notion there were any Muslim sports heroes: Obama said in his speech that Muslims are our sports heroes. What sport is he talking about, and who?
If Trump doesnt view Ali as a sports hero than what does he view him as? If Trump sees Ali as nothing more than a typical Muslim, why would Trump want to attend the funeral of a guy who follows a religion that Trump has said hates us. Not only that, thousands of Muslims will be at Alis Muslim funeral Thursday and at the interfaith services on Friday, which are both open to all faiths as Ali directed. Why would Trump want to stand with so many people who follow a religion that he believes hates America?

Theres been a lot of concern lately about violence coming from Donald Trump protestors, but Bruce Campbell is pouring cold water on the moguls supporters for using a picture from his TV show as Twitter propaganda.
The presumptive nominee recently held an event in San Jose, California, where things took a nasty turn as protestors showed undeniable hostility to the rally attendees. A pro-Trump Twitter account called Conservative Nation seems to have tried to capitalize off this, and they put out this picture of an alleged Trump-supporting woman who was beaten and bloodied by demonstrators.
Here's what happened to female Trump supporter when she met 'peaceful' and 'tolerant' liberals.
https://twitter.com/Cons_Nation/status/739945142531035136/photo/1?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw
Enter Campbell, who said that the woman in the picture is actually an actress whose injuries were part of a make-up test for Ash VS. Evil Dead.
Check your facts, folks. This is an actress named Samara Weaving from #AshVsEvilDead. This is a make-up test. Sad.

The comedy-horror series is a take on the Evil Dead film series that launched Campbell into fame. It deals with Ash Williams ongoing quest to fight zombies and other forces of evil brought forth by the Book of the Dead.

A New York Times journalist reported on Twitter that she had received three separate death threats after penning a piece calling the Democratic primary for Hillary Clinton.
Hillary Clinton Has Clinched Democratic Nomination, Survey Reports, Times reporters Amy Chozick and Patrick Healy wrote Monday. The piece was not based off of the Times delegate count, but reported on an announcement from the Associated Press that they were calling the race for Clinton.
Supporters of Clintons opponent Bernie Sanders were less than happy with the piece, and at least three of them called Chozick on her personal phone to threaten her.

There's no bad choice here. But you do still have to make a choice.
My California vote-by-mail ballot arrived early this week (I expected it earlier, but apparently so many people are now voting by mail that the Post Office is a bit overwhelmed). And with the California primary only a few days away, it was time to make my decision.
I was undecided for much of the primary season. For a while, I contemplated leaving the ballot blank on the Presidential nominee line as the vitriol of the primary season grew but I realized that my decision needs to be not a reaction to poor behavior (which was on both sides), but on both the issues and the ability to govern and be a strong executive. And on issues, I am most aligned with Bernie Sanders, and I was thrilled when his campaign grew beyond what many believed possible, and several weeks ago I resolved to support him. I was even polled a few days ago (Marist) and indicated that Id be voting for Bernie.
I dont dislike Hillary Clinton certainly I dont despise her with the burning hatred of a thousand suns, as seems to be de rigeur for many around here -- but I do have some reservations (primarily around her relative hawkishness). I should add that I have been and continue to be extremely impressed by her intelligence and command of the issues, even down to the fine details (something that actually seems to evade Bernie).
And yet
And yet.

I gazed at the empty ballot... and I made my choice.
