Triumph the Insult Comic Dog Talks Trump, the Klan, and Pooper Tuesday

http://www.mediaite.com/online/triumph-the-insult-comic-dog-talks-trump-the-klan-and-pooper-tuesday/

A happening just isn’t a happening until it’s been pooped on by Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, and Super Tuesday was no exception. The Robert Smigel-voiced canine comic stopped by the Yahoo! News studios in New York to regale Yahoo Global News Anchor Katie Couric with one-liners about the elections, including Chris Christie’s instantly famous turn as Donald Trump’s paralyzed hype man and Trump’s own recent controversy with the Ku Klux Klan.

Hillary News & Views 3.2: A Very Super Tuesday!

http://www.dailykos.com/stories/2016/3/2/1494395/-Hillary-News-Views-3-2-A-Very-Super-Tuesday

By Lysis

Today’s Hillary News & Views begins with coverage of yesterday’s Super Tuesday election.

First, Clinton’s victory speech in its entirety.

Vox transcribes:

You know all across our country today Democrats voted to break down barriers so we can all rise together. I am so delighted to be here with you in Florida. I congratulate Sen. Sanders on his strong showing and campaigning.

I'm grateful to all of you who voted for me, to the volunteers and organizers. I know you worked your hearts out. To all my friends, many of a lifetime who traveled to all the states to tell people about the candidate they knew, and the hundreds of thousands of people who went to HillaryClinton.com to give what they could – most less than $100 – now this campaign moves forward to the Crescent City, Motor City and beyond.

We're going to work for every vote, and we will need all of you to keep volunteering, contributing, doing everything you can, talking to your friends and neighbors because this country belongs to all of us not just those at the top. Not just the people who look one way, worship one way or even think one way.

Hillary Clinton is Comfortable in Black Spaces

Hillary kicking it with black folks again.

Hillary Clinton has a particular ease of manner in Black Spaces. She is the type of person one might find at a Black church, school, function, rally, a prayer circle, or comforting black mothers of sons and daughters lost through gun violence. The grieving mothers of several of our nation's lost black children found a bit of comfort in the company of the former First Lady and Secretary of State.

Why am I saying this?

Well, I am a bit surprised at all of the surprise over Hillary's big win with black voters this Super Tuesday. I suppose I should have expected it, but still, why would anyone have thought his numbers would improve with us very much after such a resounding defeat in S.C.?

So, before we dissolve into a mess of slurs and slanderous statements about how mean and horrible us black people are, or start talking Stockholm Syndrome talk and all that jazz, let us notice one thing that might help us understand why Black people are comfortable voting for Hillary. Hillary Clinton is comfortable in black spaces. She is comfortable in minority spaces, period. She is always around.

Her ability to show that she is perfectly fine in a room filled with people of color, in a black church, is one good indication of why we are comfortable back. Most politicians have trouble in dealing with us directly, they find it difficult to not come off patronizing, to come into our spaces and have a meal and a chat. Hillary will come to us, come to church, to funerals, hug our kids and kiss our babies.

In contrast, when Bernie showed up at church with Ben Jealous, I felt uncomfortable watching him look so uncomfortable and out of place. He did not even eat a bite. That was telling to many of us. Not a bite passed his lips! I felt a bit offended and I ain't even cook it. (I am an atheist but even I know you have to eat and compliment the cook for goodness sakes!) It was a test and he failed.

I say this not as a person who is in love with Hillary, or as a person who wants to pressure anyone else to vote my way. Or even as a person who is opposed to Bernie; I'd vote for him if he won the primaries.

But the next time you find yourself wondering, "Why are blacks voting HILLARY?", remember how comfortable she is in OUR spaces. I mean, we CAN tell, ya know?

This is Morehouse. An HBCU. Nice to see you guys there.

Hi There.
You seem very angry.

I notice a lot of you are very outraged at black voters and their voting habits. I understand the anger, the fear, the confusion.. Although I do not have to explain anything, I feel like explaining the power of the black vote and help you understand.

Black voters are finding our voices and recognizing our power. We know that we CAN make or break a campaign. Therefore, candidates need to do more than just generic campaigning, focusing on things that white progressives want to focus on, while ignoring "wedge" issues or issues we care about.

We are not the ones making demands upon his supporters to do as we do, or even explain why they do as they do. We are not telling you what’s best for you. I hope you know that we are not taking anything from you by discussing the power of our collective vote and voices.

Some feel like they are losing power. That we are gaining it at their expense. Well, I have to tell you, quite franlky, that that power should have NEVER rested solely in their hands in the first place, at OUR expense.

The nation will not get any whiter. We will not go in reverse. We have lived forever in an uneven power structure and we will take our share of it. Things need to be fair. You will get used to it, as we have. The world is not ending.

Do you think we like living in a nation where white people have so much power over us? That we do not feel rage? Impotent rage? We must gather together and use our power collectively in order for us to have any opportunity to progress. To get to where YOU are.

All you are dealing with is a very small taste of what we deal with everyday.

Emerson Poll: Hillary opens up 42% lead in Texas, 11% lead in Massachusetts.

http://www.dailykos.com/stories/2016/2/29/1493582/-Emerson-Poll-Hillary-opens-up-42-lead-in-Texas-11-lead-in-Massachusetts

Hillary is apparently getting a good bounce out of the stunning and amazing South Carolina primary which she won by a 47.5% margin — 73.5% to 26%.

A pair of Emerson polls conducted partly after the SC primary tell the tale, and has the following result:

TEXAS: Hillary 68%, Bernie 26%. LEAD: 42%

same polling firm from Feb. 24: Hillary 56%, Bernie 40%, 16% lead

MASSACHUSETTS: Hillary 54%, Bernie 43%. LEAD: 11%

same polling firm from Feb. 23: Hillary 46%, Bernie 46%. TIE

Here is the poll article: CLINTON PULLS AWAY FROM SANDERS

TEXAS

In the Lone Star State’s Democratic primary, Clinton has dramatically extended her lead over Bernie Sanders. On February 24, Clinton held a 14-point advantage, 56% to 40% but now leads by 40-plus points, 68% to 26%. Sanders’s 63-point edge (81% to 18%) with voters 18-34 plummeted to just 22 points (59% to 37%), and Clinton is crushing him by margins of 49% or more in all other age categories. Support from men is way up; they now favor her 67% to 25% over Sanders, while women give her the nod, 68% to 27%. As was the case in South Carolina last Saturday, Clinton receives overwhelming support from African Americans, 82% to Sanders’s 15% and data suggests that Hispanic/Latino voters were breaking for Clinton by a wide margin, 71% to 16%, among those surveyed.
