"24 Frames"...Jason Isbell

Such a great song....such amazing lyrics

Nashville's version of "comic-con", Heroes and Villans is this weekend

Wish us luck....my 8 year old son has two goals: one, to meet Yondu...Michael Rooker, and have him sign his unopened Yondu figure; and Two, to meet his Dr Who, non-Dr hero, Capt Jack!!

I've heard John Barrowman is great with kids and so I really hope that we can meet him...plus I think my wife and I both want a pic with him (I promised my wife to resist kissing him, lol. Although a trio pic of the two of us kissing him might be epic).

My wife is hoping we have time that she can meet "Green Arrow"...

If dreams come true, I'll post pics after this weekend. Lol...love you folks in the Lounge and just thought I'd share our family excitement.

Just a geek/nerd update from this geeky/nerdy fam

We clearly need to hear this again...

This message was poignant and controversial in its time, but it's no less powerful now. We have to shut out the nonsense and stay focused...(this is dedicated to so many of you guys here that inspire me so much....)

Hey RandySF...going to Infinity Wars tonight!!!

Our house is pumped, I'm sure yours is too! Will share my thoughts after the show (spoiler free of course).

Full disclosure...I'm only calling out Randy because I know he's as big of a comic book movie fan as I am!

"Geez dad...I just wanted some bacon..."

My greyhound's sad face when he's told no at breakfast.

"Spread Love" fundraiser for the Waffle House victims

I just posted this in the TN group and thought some of you outside TN might appreciate seeing this as well. I've got zero connection to this company, I just love their shirts and community service.

For those of you in the Nashville area, you may be familiar with or have seen "Project 615" shirts around town. "Project 615" makes incredible quality, fun shirts that celebrate Nashville and Tennessee. (Full disclosure I own several of their shirts and love them). Their theme has been "Spread Love, it's the Nashville Way" and they have lived up to that several times through their philanthropic work in the community. Now, they are raising money for the victims of Sunday morning's Waffle House shooting and all proceeds will go to the victims, 100%.

If you love Nashville, love Waffle House, or just want to spread some love in your own way, please consider this effort.

50 years ago this evening...

As relevant tonight as it was that evening. I would encourage all of you to read the full text of the speech.

Here's an annotated version from NYT:

Sometimes you need to relish the real world....

We had the best day today! Shopping and lunch in East Nashville, afternoon at the Zoo...literally we're leaving as they were closing up! Such a great day! And I didn't think about the Orange bafoon one time, lol! Also, we adopted a white rhino, because my son was adamant we do that!

The Notebook

I'm sure many of you have read the book or watched the movie and either loved the love story or gawked at the ridiculous plot....Well that story is my wife and I's story. We have lived and are living Noah and Allie's story, all the bumps and high points included, believe it or not.

My wife came up to me today, and she's not yet 40 and she confided that she was so scared that she would succumb to Alzheimer's like her grandmother did...I just held her in my arms tonight and assured her I would always be there for her.

Meanwhile, despite the fact that I wanted to go to bed early, some channel is showing "The Notebook" tonight...so we're snuggled in bed, well she's half asleep, watching our movie...

Guess that's true love my friends
