Oh, FFS! Stop it. Nobody is doing that.
I very much look forward do your next OP that scolds Sirota and Gray and Turner and Cenk Uygur and Matt Orfalea and Michael Moore and Phillip Agnew for their "bullying" comments and lies that claim Joe Biden is senile... or that the primaries are "rigged"... or other "bullying" and homophobic comments (and gestures) about beloved Democrats and their spouses.
I agree. The preening and strutting doesn't help anyone.
Aside from being infuriating... it's embarrassing to watch.
Sad to see that this will be his final legacy. This is what he'll be remembered and ridiculed for... for all eternity.

What will his future role be in the Senate? It's my firm belief that all future chair and committee assignments should be contingent on his swift withdrawal and his full throated and sincere endorsement of Joe Biden... along with his continued, cooperative, and coordinated help in taking the fight directly to the GOP... and an immediate and permanent cessation of all hostilities, smears, lies, divisive and derogatory remarks about Democrats, the Democratic party, and Joe Biden.
There's really no two ways about it. Either he's with-us, or he's not. If he's an "ally" then he needs to start acting like one. If he cannot act like one, if he cannot get with the program... then the Democratic party (which he refuses to join) needs to stop affording him certain honors, assignments, privileges. I think that's a perfectly reasonable condition to make. There's nothing wrong with setting minimum standards and having higher expectations.
As a party, we deserve better. As a body, the Senate deserves better. As a nation, we deserve better... and the only way that's going to happen is if EVERYONE (that includes Bernie Sanders) is on the same page, working in unison to get rid of Trump and to defeat the GOP.
He needs to be neutered. Going forward, NO committee or chair assignments.

All I'm trying to say is this: If he's an "ally" then he needs to start acting like one. This is how a Sanders administration would be. Stubbornly ignoring facts, incapable of accepting political reality. Rushing toward failure rather than working together with others toward success. Trudging onward in a no-hope situation, pursuing a lost cause no matter what the cost, no matter how much damage it causes, no matter how much it weakens our party, and giving false-hope to donors and gladly accepting their donations under false pretenses.

I knew it would backfire on them. Sitting and leaning on one's elbows isn't something that projects strength, vitality and good health. And being stooped over and leaning or slouching at the podium also isn't something that projects stamina.
Actually, I guess slouching isn't the best word to use because Bernie's poor posture is clearly osteoporosis... it's just a fact of life and other than wearing an uncomfortable back brace, there's really not much he can do about it. But still, it cannot be denied that poor posture (for whatever reason) always conveys a visual message that makes people see a person who's not in good health or frail and weak.
But, sadly for him, in comparison to Biden's upright posture and well-fitted suits, Bernie's situation just gives the impression of someone who's tired and not in good health. And on the "world stage" when standing next to other world leaders (both friend and foe) we need someone like Joe Biden to give the impression and send the message that the United States is strong and vital and coming back from our long nightmare.
There are many articles online about posture and health, and how poor posture is a sign of poor health and how it can lead to other problems as well. If anyone doubts me, just do a google search for "posture and health" and look for articles from reputable sources... avoid the ones trying to sell supplements, but stick with the gov't sites, edu sites, webmd and the like. Posture and aging, and posture and pain are also interesting search criteria.
He'll still lean and slouch regardless... sitting wouldn't help and may have made it appear worse.
He'll still lean and slouch regardless... sitting wouldn't help and may have made it appear worse. It's not his fault that he has osteoporosis and he can't help to lean and have that hunched-up look. But, sadly for him, it does provide a constant visual reminder of his age and in comparison to Biden's upright posture and well-fitted suits, Bernie's situation just gives the impression of someone who's tired and not in good health. He's not doing it on purpose, but that's what people see.
