I haven't posted much about Israel/Gaza recently. It's just very raw and painful for me on DU on this subject. Just recovering from 10 days in Israel with family - out most nights protesting with hostage families and peace activists. Returned to an exciting time in US politics and a hope that we might also discover a different approach to Israel's war - to be disgusted and offended by Netanyahu's full of lies speech to Congress. To the news that Zahiro Shahar Mor, who's uncle was taken hostage by Hamas and who's cousin was killed, and who was given a seat in the guest galleries to Netanyahu's address by Rep. Omar was arrested for disturbance when he shouted out three times during Bibi's standing ovations to waking up this morning to this piece on Democracy Now with two amazing people: Maoz Inon and Aziz Abu Sarah - each who have lost loved ones to violence and who have come together to spread hope.
For those who wish to listen and those looking for peace to maybe be inspired that we accomplish it . . .

Netanyahu and his government are accountable and responsible to my parents’ death. They are responsible and accountable to October 7th. And he never accepted this and took this accountability. And I was surprised and shocked from the members of the Congress that they are not forcing him to take responsibility and accountability to his failure leadership.

Last night I had the privilege of attending a showing of this documentary in support of the Choose Love organization started by Scarlett Lewis, mother of Jesse, one of the children murdered in Sandy Hook, CT in 2012.
This documentary is horrifying, painful, disturbing and so necessary to see. Watching what these families endured after their children were murdered and then hearing Scarlett Lewis’ own words on how the organization Choose Love came about and the programs it offers to schools
The film offered a lesson in just how vicious and pervasive conspiracy theories can become and a chilling portrait of how little they may trouble their purveyors. A lesson we all, as consumers of so many different varieties of media, need to remember. InfoWars still exists. And while earlier this month, Jones said he would liquidate assets to pay the Sandy Hook families, there are dozens more doing the same kind of damage.
If you have HBO I recommend watching.
Scarlett showed how she has dealt with this tragedy shaped her mission and how Choose Love addresses the root cause of violence to prevent it before it starts! Inspiring. Her organization is one worthy of support, if you wish.

The operation was orchestrated by Israel's Diaspora Affairs Ministry and run by a political campaigning firmThe influence campaign made extensive use of fake websites and social media to promote content that is pro-Israel, anti-Palestinian and anti-Muslim content, as well as disinformation about antisemitism on American campuses, according to an investigation by the Fake Reporter organization, published today.
The operation was run by a private Israeli online political campaigning firm called STOIC that was hired for the project.

This is a horror beyond horrors. My heart breaks for all the victims - Israelis and Palestinians alike. The hostages that Bibi has forgotten, their families, the Palestinians displaced, the maimed, the orphaned. Enough.

EDITED to add that as usual, Katz is wrong in his selective tweet. And in fact it is Deputy Premier Yolanda Diaz (not Sanchez)who said the following
A call for Palestinians to be free from River to the sea which is similar to the Likud Party platform statement of
"Judea and Samaria will not be handed to any foreign administration; between the Sea and the Jordan there will only be Israeli sovereignty." Personally I think saying ”only Israeli sovereignty” is actually more disgraceful than saying Palestinians should be free”.
