LAS14's JournalWaiting and watching for something to bubble up.
I'm hoping that there will be one big opportunity for us to rally together, but I suspect that's hoping for too much. We have different perspectives. But I am aching for something to get behind. I'm guessing I'll have to wait til after Jan 21 to see what Obama does. I'm definitely going to start going to local Dem meetings.
Are any of you signing on to anything yet?
"On basic issues of humanity, we dont give an inch, she insisted in an interview on Friday. Be very, very clear about what we wont compromise on and very clear about what were fighting for. If we have clarity, the American people are with us.
I dont know what President Obama will do, Ms. Tanden said. But I know that he loves the foundations of democracy. If he thinks thats threatened, I imagine he might speak out.

Does everyone still know We Shall Overcome?
I've been thinking about a rallying song. What got me started was the thought that I might witness booing or other harassment of a Muslim. What would I do? If I started singing We Shall Overcome would others recognize it?
I read somewhere that these days the only songs you can count on all members of a mixed group to be able to sing are Happy Birthday and Auld Lang Syne...

What about Obama for chair of the DNC?
I'm just aching for someone to rally behind. I did perk up after Warren's AF of L speech, maybe... But if Obama were around in an official capacity that would be great. And maybe the Democratic Party would start moving at the grass roots level already for 2020.
Whadda ya think?
Did any Republicans sign this letter?

I can see the New Balance headquarters from my living room window. I want to go demonstrate. But a boycott would be more effective.
How does one get such actions started? I'm not the one. I'm an idiot about social media. Suggestions???

Has something changed regarding display of links?
I expected the link below to show up in picture form. I posted it in an Outlook message just to test, and it did. But in DU it only shows the text of the link. Has something changed?

Is there a summary of senators anywhere...
... that would give me a sense of how many Republican senators might refuse to vote for outrageous ideas?
Susan Collins is the only one who comes to mind.
Will the female Republicans confirm a judge expected to overturn Roe v Wade?
