New documentary: God Save Texas...
It just came out on HBO yesterday. It's three parts in all. I think the next two episodes will be released over the next two weeks. The producers and creators include Richard Linklater and Lawrence Wright. So far it's excellent.
In this first episode, a focus is on the prison system (or should I say prison industry) in Texas (mainly Huntsville). Additionally, it highlights folks that have tried to make a difference in a good way.
I don't spend a lot of money on myself (I'm not into fancy clothes, eating out, etc.). My main treat for myself is cable and streaming channels. It's worth it to me...
Documentary on Hulu: Nightline: On the Brink....
I think this originally aired on ABC because I watched it with a friend last night and she doesn't have HULU. She DVR'd. It's heartbreaking!
What these women (and families) went through because of the result of the overturning of Roe V. Wade is a travesty...
Documentary: God & Country....
I live in Los Angeles and can't find this documentary playing in any theaters.
It's the new one by Rob Reiner. I heard him on several podcasts and videos this past week.
I thought it was going to be in theaters and/or on a streaming channel. I can't find it.
Thanks for any help.
I need help understanding applying for Social Security and how
Medicare works. I did the initial part several months so I made that deadline.
On March 1, I'll be 66 1/2 which makes me eligible for my full benefits. I want to apply to start getting my checks but the Medicare part of it is sooooooo confusing to me.
I have insurance (pretty crappy) through my employer and plan on continuing to work (I'm a substitute teacher and my employer is the agency where I get my assignments). The teaching jobs have been pretty sketchy lately so I need to really do what I need to do to start getting my checks. Also, I know that there are all these time frames and deadlines for Medicare.
Can someone point me to a really easy to understand place where I can get more information?
Thank you!
Is Stephanie Miller not on today?
I'm guessing it's because of the really bad weather we're having here. Maybe Jody and Chris couldn't get into the studio.
The new T.V. limited series, Griselda....
It's fantastic! (F.Y.I. the subject matter is very dark and violent... It's like Scarface but with a woman in charge).
It's on Netflix. Sophia Vergara is absolutely amazing!
I know someone who's worked a lot with her (behind the scenes) and they've said she's a wonderful person as well. I love it when I hear celebrities I admire are really cool people.
I'm urging folks to cancel their Peacock subscription
...........The epitome of greed:
"NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and NBC are slammed by Democrat congressman for putting Chiefs-Dolphins playoff game on Peacock in $110million deal. This double-charges loyal fans'
NBC paid a reported $110 million to put the game exclusively on Peacock
The NFL and NBC are ripping off football fans by putting Saturday's Kansas City Chiefs-Miami Dolphins playoff game on a subscription streaming service, according to an open letter from Democrat congressman Pat Ryan of New York.
'It's a disgrace,' Ryan wrote in the letter addressed to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and NBC Sports President Rick Cordella. 'Fans already face exorbitant prices to watch every game during the regular season; they don't deserve to be squeezed even further by greedy corporations.
'This bait-and-switch is particularly egregious for consumers who already pay for NBC as part of their cable package. Since Peacock is a subsidiary of NBCUniversal, this exclusive deal essentially double-charges loyal fans to watch games they thought they had already paid for.'
NBC paid a reported $110 million to put the game exclusively on Peacock, which typically charges $6 a month for a subscription, but is now offering a one-year deal for $30 ahead of the Chiefs-Dolphins game.
Despite the discount, Ryan remained furious with the NFL and NBC's apparent cash grab.
Roger Goodell sold exclusive rights to the Wild Card game for a reported $110million."

I'm really disgusted by this. I have older friends who don't have streaming access and don't want to deal with setting up devices. I'll be cancelling my subscription to Peacock (I don't think the station offers much anyway). I'll call customer service when I get back to California and hopefully will reach a person so I can tell them why I'm cancelling.
BTW, I realize some people are anti-football and I understand.
While at my friends place working here in Dallas .......
We're able to have on the T.V. while going through her paperwork.
I absolutely LOVE Young Sheldon! I never watched The Big Bang Theory but will now.
