Clinton email probe enters new phase as FBI interviews loom

"Federal prosecutors investigating the possible mishandling of classified materials on Hillary Clinton’s private email server have begun the process of setting up formal interviews with some of her longtime and closest aides, according to two people familiar with the probe, an indication that the inquiry is moving into its final phases.

Those interviews and the final review of the case, however, could still take many weeks, all but guaranteeing that the investigation will continue to dog Clinton’s presidential campaign through most, if not all, of the remaining presidential primaries"

And then there's this...

"No dates have been set for questioning the advisors, but a federal prosecutor in recent weeks has called their lawyers to alert them that he would soon be doing so, the sources said. Prosecutors also are expected to seek an interview with Clinton herself, though the timing remains unclear."

There was a time, back when this story broke, that pundits were saying the mere idea of Hillary being compelled to give an interview with the feds would be a disqualifier.

Bernie Sanders Goes 3 for 3 and with Wins Over Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders Sees Path To Victory

"Update 3:52 a.m. Eastern

Senator Bernie Sanders made it three for three on Saturday, handily defeating Hillary Clinton in Alaska, Hawaii, and Washington.

All three states had caucuses as opposed to primaries.

Sanders has done very well in caucuses, which tend to attract a more activist voter, which has been his base,

Democratic officials in Hawaii said that more than 32,000 votes were cast.

Sanders significantly outspent Clinton in the state, overcoming the fact she had received the backing of many of the state's elected Democratic officials"

I'm checked in and ready to start grouping up. Go Washington!

I'm just glad Washington finally gets a say in the process.

Good luck to all sides!

FBI Reveals New Details About Its Probe Into Hillary Clinton's Use of Private Email Server

"March 26, 2016 | 7:05 am
The FBI submitted a classified declaration to a federal court judge late Friday explaining details about the bureau's "pending investigation" into the use of a private email server by Democratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton. The declaration addresses why the FBI can't publicly release any records about its probe in response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit filed by VICE News.

In a separate public declaration, David Hardy, the chief of the FBI's FOIA office, said there are a number of documents exchanged between the FBI and the State Department relating to the FBI's ongoing investigation of Clinton's use of a private email server, which stored all of the official government emails Clinton sent and received during her tenure as Secretary of State. But the FBI, which consulted with attorneys within its Office of General Counsel "who are providing legal support to the pending investigation," cannot divulge any of them without "adversely affecting" the integrity of its investigation."

Records show Clinton received just one training brief on classified info

"Hillary Clinton received just one formal briefing about how to handle classified materials during her four years as the secretary of State, according to internal documents released to the Daily Caller.

The lone security briefing came on Jan. 22, 2009, just a day after Clinton was confirmed by the Senate to serve as the nation’s top diplomat, records released to the news organization under a Freedom of Information Act request show

The single briefing appears to violate a portion of the department’s Foreign Affairs Manual, which declares that senior staffers receive training on “identifying and marking” classified material “on an annual basis.”
The lack of documentation does not preclude the possibility that Clinton received informal briefings and updates about government classification processes or that her subsequent briefings were not memorialized in writing."

How is this even possible? Hillary was an authorized designator as SoS. This just gets stranger and stranger.

Role of tech who set up Clinton's server unknown to bosses at State

"Soon after Hillary Clinton's arrival at the State Department in 2009, officials in the information technology office were baffled when told that a young technician would join them as a political appointee, newly disclosed emails show.

The technician, Bryan Pagliano, was running the off-grid email server that Clinton had him set up in her New York home for her work as secretary of state. But even as years passed, Pagliano's supervisors never learned of his most sensitive task, according to the department and one of his former colleagues.

Pagliano's immediate supervisors did not know the private server even existed until it was revealed in news reports last year, the colleague said, requesting anonymity because of a department ban on unauthorized interviews.

Clinton's decision to side-step the official state.gov email system has since shrouded her campaign for the U.S. presidency this year in controversy and legal uncertainty. The Federal Bureau of Investigation is conducting one of several inquiries into the arrangement, which saw classified information passing through her unsecured clintonemail.com account."

And this is where it gets interesting.

"Wisecarver and Swart, who had worked in the department for decades, were soon swapping emails expressing confusion and surprise that a political appointee, a so-called Schedule C employee who is more commonly hired to work in the secretary of state's offices, should be joining the IT department's ranks.

Schedule C employees, who help presidential appointees and agency heads make policy, can only report to people appointed by the U.S. president or other senior executive officials. But no one like that worked in the IT office, so Kennedy ended up being Pagliano's designated supervisor.

The department told Reuters that Pagliano and Kennedy had little contact, and that Kennedy was unaware of the server or his subordinate's role in running it. Nor did Wisecarver, Pagliano's day-to-day boss, or Swart know, according to the former colleague, who said the IT office should have been informed."

It seems like a highly unusual arrangement.
Some things should be noted.

Hillary's server couldn't have been set up without Brian being in the State Department’s IT unit and the fact that his .Gov email file from the time Hillary was there was deleted from the record. The emails are there from after she left tho.

Didn't Hillary sign an affidavit under threat of perjury?:Lost emails from Clinton server discovered

"Clinton’s presidential campaign has previously claimed that the former top diplomat did not use her personal "clintonemail.com" account before March 2009, weeks after she was sworn in as secretary of State.
But on Thursday, the watchdog group Judicial Watch released one message from Feb. 13, 2009, in which Mills communicated with Clinton on the account to discuss the National Security Agency’s (NSA) efforts to produce a secure BlackBerry device for her to use as secretary of State.

The discovery is likely to renew questions about Clinton’s narrative about her use of the private email server, which has come under scrutiny."

I wonder about that signed letter stating that everything has been turned over. That was under threat of perjury.

Fresno bar kicks out two black women — and it turns out they are attorneys for the ACLU

Source: Rawstory

A Fresno, California bar is under fire for kicking out two African-American attorneys for the American Civil Liberties Union who were trying to have a night out singing karaoke, according to the ACLU.

Attorneys Abre’ Conner and Novella Coleman went to a bar called Brig. The two women were hoping for a night of karaoke and planned to sing the R&B classic, “Waterfalls,” by TLC.

But before our song was called, a bar employee came up and said we had to buy drinks to sing karaoke,” they wrote on the ACLU’s website. “Another bartender lunged at us within inches of our faces and shouted ‘Buy drinks!'” This despite the fact they had already bought drinks, they wrote.

“A second bartender — a very tall and large man — shouted louder and louder that we were loitering and that the bar wasn’t a hangout place,” they wrote. “Over and over again he pushed his body up against Abre’ — who is just 5’4” tall — to force her out of the bar.”
