This Barton story is nonsense.

I’m not even sure what he did wrong here? Had a consensual relationship with someone while separated from his wife?

Even if he wasn’t separated from his wife at the time, whoever leaked these photos should see jail time.

Senate won't let Trump make recess appointments

Source: CNN

(CNN) Senators are planning to continue procedural moves to prevent the Senate from formally adjourning for recess next month in order to prevent President Donald Trump from making recess appointments, when the chamber eventually adjourns through the Labor Day weekend.

Using the threat of a filibuster, Democrats plan to force the Senate to hold pro forma sessions — a practice both parties have carried out to block recess appointments from presidents of opposite party, Democratic and Republican aides say.

This, at least, is good news.

Ossoff lost because he is a Democrat.

That's it, really. I don't think there is any other reason. The one thing that unites most Republicans, well, it isn't tax policy. And it isn't racial resentment. It isn't even hating "the gays".

It's that they like to see Democrats lose. It's a trip for them. The idea that Democrats might celebrate, might be on top for once, is too much for many of them to tolerate.

See this link for more.

Oh, and this tweetstorm, https://twitter.com/JoyAnnReid/status/877362133855371264 makes a related point.

GLOMAR count?

It will be most interesting to see how many times Comey gives a GLOMAR response.

I can't watch or I'd keep a tally.

Was Roger Stone in touch with Guccifer 2.0?

This article is very interesting.

In late-August, TSG asked “Guccifer 2.0” about contact with Stone. After wondering, “why r u asking?,” “Guccifer 2.0” then accused TSG of receiving reportorial guidance from federal investigators: “the fbi’s tracing me, reading my dm [direct messages] and giving u hints. no?” When further pressed, “Guccifer 2.0” said, “i won’t comment on my conversations with other ppl.” The self-professed “freedom fighter” added, “why r u so interested in stone? he’s just a person who wrote a story about me. or i don’t know some important stuff?”

FBI ‘Granted FISA Warrant’ Covering Trump Camp’s Ties To Russia (including server)

The FISA warrant was granted in connection to investigate suspected activity between the server and two banks, SVB Bank and Alfa Bank. However, it is thought in the intelligence community that the warrant covers any ‘US person’ connected to this investigation, and thus covers Donald Trump and at least three further men who have either formed part of his campaign or acted as his media surrogates. The warrant was sought, they say, because actionable intelligence on the matter provided by friendly foreign agencies could not properly be examined without a warrant by US intelligence as it involves ‘US Persons’ who come under the remit of the FBI and not the CIA. Should a counter-intelligence investigation lead to criminal prosecutions, sources say, the Justice Department is concerned that the chain of evidence have a basis in a clear warrant.
