lapucelle's JournalHillary is being sued by two Benghazi families
This is a direct result of FBI director Comey's entitlement to say SOMETHING negative about a woman whose practices had not broken any laws, but who still needed to be put in her place. Comey broke with standard procedure when he took the opportunity to subjectively decide that Clinton was "extremely careless" in handling emails.
Bob Somerby of the Daily Howler wrote a take down yesterday of the fact checkers of the email story.* Today, this lawsuit is being called "the ultimate WTF lawsuit".
It's time for the media to start questioning Comey's judgement and motives in his unprecedented public vilification of Hillary Clinton based, not on objective legal standards, but on his personal dislike of the subject of his investigation.
*The media's ongoing mishandling of the email story should be called out in every venue possible. I wrote an OP concerning Bob Somersby's ongoing analysis of the fact checker's failures in being accurate and fair about the email story. The thread was almost immediately removed for "peddling right wing talking points".
I'm still upset over that removal. Bob is a Democratic, left leaning critic of the liberal media. Here's what Paul Krugman had to say about the blog he has been writing since 1998:
"A message to my fellow journalists: check out media watch sites like campaigndesk.org, mediamatters.org and dailyhowler.com. It's good to see ourselves as others see us. I've been finding The Daily Howler's concept of a media "script", a story line that shapes coverage, often in the teeth of the evidence, particularly helpful in understanding cable news."

Was Hillary Clinton "extremely careless?"
From Bob Somerby of the Daily Howler writing about the Washington Post's Amy Phillip's fact check of Hillary's answers to the press on Friday concerning the emails.
"According to Phillip, Clinton "continued to suggest" in her Friday remarks that "[about 100 emails containing classified information] were not marked classified at the time and were retroactively classified" Rather plainly, this implies that some sort of dispute exists about that "suggestion."
But no such dispute has ever existed, and no such dispute exists now. More specifically, Comey has only said that three of Clinton's emails were "marked" as being classified. Even Phillip's revised report conveys a quite different impressionan impression which is much more damaging to Clinton."
snip
"The irony here is obvious. Last Friday, Clinton was acknowledging that she had misrepresented something Comey said in early July. Even as Phillip snarked at Clinton, she herself produced a grossly misleading account of what Comey said."

Can We Trust Julian Assange and WikiLeaks?
Film maker Alex Gibney in a New York Times opinion piece:
"The release of a cache of emails from the Democratic National Committee by WikiLeaks last month has raised a great many questions about the role of the D.N.C. in trying to influence the primary and about the alleged interference of Russian intelligence in an American election.
It also raised long-debated questions about WikiLeaks itself, about how an organization dedicated to radical transparency continues to bring secretive worlds to light. And the episode reveals some of the weaknesses of WikiLeaks and its founder, Julian Assange, like their recklessness with personal data and their use of information to settle scores and drive personal agendas.
Ive had my own run-ins with Mr. Assange. During the making of my 2013 film, We Steal Secrets: The Story of WikiLeaks, I spent an agonizing six hours with him, when he was living in an English country house while out on bail. I was struck by how insistently he steered the conversation away from matters of principle to personal slights against him, and his plans for payback. He demanded personal intel on others I had interviewed, and dismissed questions about the organization by saying, I am WikiLeaks repeatedly. (Later, Mr. Assange and his followers attacked both me and my film.)"

As if things aren't already stupendously bad enough for Donald Trump
now his pants are on fire. Trump and his surrogates are referencing a doctored tape to allege that Hillary Clinton wants to raise taxes on the middle class. The tape is being used in a Trump ad attacking Hillary.
Luckily, some reporters who were present, a transcript of the prepared remarks, and an analysis by a linguistics professor who specializes in phonology (!) confirm what Clinton actually said: "We aren't going to raise taxes on the middle class."
Now maybe the press will abandon their tortured exegesis concerning Hillary's remarks about her emails (quibble much, Glenn Kessler?) and focus their spotlight on the lying Mr. Trump.

Jill Stein is running anti-Hillary TV ads in NY metro area
Jill Stein has no problem demonizing Hillary.
"Donald Trump says despicable things, but Hillary Clinton has a terrifying track record."
Here's Clinton's record according to Stein:
"Catastrophic wars, helping destroy the social safety net, creating mass incarceration, and supporting deportations."
Its time to reject the lesser evil and fight for the greater good."
There was an OP here that expressed concern over the demonizing of Jill Stein. As far as I'm concerned, she's fair game.
