The sombre tone is so fitting.
Johnny Manziel claims to be sober, wants another chance at NFL
Do you think any team will take a chance on this guy? If I were a GM, I would not.

Could you live in a "floating UFO home"?
These look pretty neat. I would like to rent one for a month to get a feel for it. Of course I'd like to be confident that they're truly unsinkable, so I'd probably give it a year or two on the market before permanently inhabiting one.
Bob Seger records song as a tribute to fallen bandmate, Glenn Frey
On the one-year anniversary of former Eagles band member Glenn Frey's death, friend Bob Seger releases this song as a homage.
Nice little ditty, and moving too.
Which of these players would you put in Cooperstown?
Today is voting day for the Baseball HoF. Do the drug cheats get a pass?
Barry Bonds
Roger Clemens
Mike Mussina
Curt Schilling
Jeff Bagwell
Larry Walker
Manny Ramirez
Tim Raines
Ivan Rodriguez
Edgar Martinez
Gary Sheffield
Vladimir Guerrero
Sammy Sosa
Jeff Kent
Fred McGriff
I have a soft spot for Raines and McGriff, a personal bias, but I don't think they'll make it. Bagwell is deserving and was only a few percentage points shy last year. Wouldn't mind seeing Lee Smith get enshrined. He's getting close to the cut-off point...
Nature. It's jaw-droppingly fierce!
Check out this amazing series of photos of a grizzly bear fighting off a pack of wolves to steal their prey (a deer) in Montana's Rocky Mountains. A British photographer who was on holidays captured these images. I wonder how nervous he became when the showdown ensued.
Warning: If you aren't comfortable viewing animals being predatory, a few of these pics aren't for you.

You're at your childhood book fair...
Remember those? What would you buy?
I was captivated by the Choose Your Own Adventure series. Collected most of those books. Just looking at these covers brings back so many memories.
Patriots looking sloppy in the first half
The Texans have been superior on offense and have forced two turnovers. I think New England gets its act together real soon, but 14-13 is surprising for this stage of the game.
Evanston, Ill. police violently arrest man "stealing" his own car
You can hear the "suspect" being polite and answering all the questions directly:
On October 10, 2015, a woman called the cops on Lawrence Crosbywho was working on his own vehicleto report that a black man appeared to be breaking into a car and stealing it, Fox Chicago reports.
Hi somebodys trying to break into, somebodys trying to break into a car, she told the 9-11 dispatcher, later adding, I think the person just got into the car.
Crosby was driving towards the Northwestern University campus when police pulled him over. His car was equipped with its own dash cam video, and on the recording Crosby can be heard telling someone he suspected he was being followed.
Police pulled him over in a church parking lot, where Crosby was violently detained for stealing his own car.

The judge threw out the charges against the vehicle owner, but it doesn't appear there will be any consequences for the police.
