Have the Nats adequately addressed their Achilles heel?

Washington traded for Oakland relievers Ryan Madson and Sean Doolittle and sent Blake Treinen and two prospects to the A's.

Will this be enough for the Nationals to overcome the front-running Dodgers and Astros in their quest for a World Series?

Red Sox parting ways with Pablo Sandoval

Will he land somewhere else in the bigs, or is this the end of the line?

"The Boston Red Sox announced Friday that they have designated third baseman Pablo Sandoval for assignment.

Sandoval, 30, slashed .212/269/.354 with four home runs and 12 RBI through his first 32 appearances this season.

The Red Sox signed Sandoval to five-year, $95 million contract in 2015 after he earned two All-Star nods over the course of seven seasons with the San Francisco Giants, but his abbreviated stint in Boston was marred by injuries, subpar production and concerns about his weight.

After Sandoval batted .245 with 10 home runs and 47 RBI in 2015, he was limited to three games in 2016 after he was forced to undergo season-ending shoulder surgery."

Are Democrats/Republicans becoming the equivalent of Sunnis/Shiites?

Thomas Friedman expressed on CNN today that the split between the two political parties is becoming so hostile that he can envision the situation deteriorating to the level of warring Sunnis and Shiites, unless there's some reconciliation.

He said he hears people in Washington heading to meetings saying things like, "I hope THEY are not going to be there," referring to members of the opposing party. He also said there are more and more parents making no bones about not wanting their child to marry "one of THEM," again referring to someone on the other side of the political aisle.

No doubt tensions have grown between Dems and Republicans over the past decade, probably intensifying to the greatest levels in memory with the ascension of Don the Con. But do you think the equivalent of a civil war could ensue in today's United States of America?

Aaron Judge wins the 2017 home run derby

He was hitting the ball a ton. Struck the roof and they didn't count it. Also surpassed 500 feet.

Miguel Sano was his opponent in the final round.

Will it be a Dodgers/Astros World Series?

They are the two teams with the best record in their respective leagues heading into the all-star break.

ESPN has an article about how the Astros and Dodgers are on a collision course:

http://www.espn.com/mlb/standings

But, as we know, the way things stand in July does not necessarily foretell how things will turn out in October.

Which two teams do you think will be facing each other in the World Series?

"But they're my nipples!"

My wife, bless her heart, sometimes washes my clothes. Now, I'm a modern man who washes his own clothes quite often. I have been, however, forbidden from washing her clothes. Ever again. A number of her garments have mysteriously shrunk on my watch. Don't ask me how it happens. All of my stuff can be sorted into colors and whites, all of it can into the wash and all of it can go into the dryer.

Now, my wife prefers to hang things on the clothesline. She loves that. I don't care for that at all. It leaves my clothes stiff, my nice cotton t-shirts, in particular, develop an abrasive feeling after hanging on the line. So when I put one on and engage in exercise like a run, my nipples get chafed.

Ergo the title of this thread. I think my wife is about to be relieved of washing any of my clothes. Ever. We'll be in the same boat.
